Does anyone know if the mirage online store still up and taking orders? I need to get a copy of tmnt 29 and 30 but kept putting it off and hopefully I didn't wait to long. I cant find them online anywhere else for a good price, I dont really want to spend $30 for a $10 comic if I can still get it for 10.

don't expect them to come in perfect condition, i have yet to receive a comic from Mirage that the corners were not bent - it's too bad that they don't package them that well, at the very least they could bag them.

I think the site has stated that the books should be considered to be in "Fine" condition, but in my experience, over half have been NM/M (9.8), about a quarter have been NM+ (9.6), and the remainder have been in the NM- to NM range (9.2-9.4). I've yet to receive anything lower than NM-. The books I've purchased have all been from volume 1.

I had just ordered my last batch of comics from them, it was about over 50 issues at once.. I got them 4 and half weeks later.. Just be patient, and she will ship them to you. Remember, its just her working alone now. Hope this helps! ;)

Check is how I pay now. I used to have my debit card on file with her to automatically take out when a new book came out, and for larger orders I paid with credit card. But check will suffice. :D

Really? Hmmm, good to know that there ARE other options BESIDES PayPal, because I still, to this DAY, don't have that thing figured OUT yet.

As for the check thing, what about money orders? We don't trust banks anymore, so we DON'T have a bank/checking account.

Ah, well, I'll get it figured out. Might try using my card for my FIRST order with them, then go from there.

I hadn't even thought about...I am new to the TMNT comic world and have read a lot about them and have purchased 1-10 from Volume 1 along with a few others, yet I'm confused about the books. Are they just collections of the comics or are they something totally different? Nothing I've read has totally clarified this for me yet, thanks for any answers you can provide.

They're putting some of the rarer stuff on eBay themselves. Makes sense. Shell Shock and the original Tales trade are up right now. I already own 'em, but I'm hoping for them to sell a copy of the Tales Treasury Edition. :]

It's possible Pete's got one he'll be giving to Dan and Katie to put on eBay. Would be kinda cool to have one; the binding on the softcover edition is pretty bad. Possibly would've gotten the one Stephen Murphy put on eBay a few weeks ago if the condition were better.

It's probable that there are one or two copies of the hardcover book in the Mirage Studios archives (Dan tells me they have a few copies of just about everything there), but likely won't be sold, and for good reason. But you never know; Peter may go on a ballistic Turtle purging spree and want everything gone. :p

Just keep checking the Mirage eBay store and see what crops up.

I gave up on that HC. I always see it going for 500+ because it's so rare. I have the first 11 + 4 minis collected in 2 different books already, 3 if you count the colored ones. As cool as it would be to have it's just not worth the price.

I just received my order from Mirage: I ordered the Archie digests 2 to 7 and they threw in a #1 Archie digest too! What a cool surprise :) They don't have that issue available on their website though.

They don't want to send to international addresses 'cause it takes too much time to go and find out the shipping costs, the extra effort. Katie only works two days a week there. Several years ago Mirage didn't have a problem with international orders. With their downsizing they don't have the time to do such things anymore. However they are OK with still shipping comics internationally, just not merchandise. This sucks as I can't even try to get the A.C Farley TMNT poster, Mirage cap or the Ralph/Casey T shirt.

Wish I could get Raph's statue but again with Mirage not shipping out of the US. I never pursued the Playmates statues after the Leo one, I just didn't have the space or the money for this. Does this mean these actually were Peter Laird's and he's willing to depart with them?

Hijacking this post to answer: if you're wondering how long it takes Mirage to ship, it takes three days to get from Northampton to me here in Decatur, AL through USPS standard flat-rate box. I typically have anywhere from 9-80 books when I order.

Be patient, my last order took a month before she shipped it but once she did - boom - three days later it was at my door. 8)

Well mirage has the tpb you can get 5-2? for a resonable price. Vol 1 has its up and downs but definately ends on a high note with city at war.

You should order Volume 2 so you'll have your first complete run! :D

Then work on what's easiest to come by, ie. Volume 4 and Tales Volumes 1 & 2.

My books arrived on Friday the 3rd. It was my 3rd order this year and easily my fastest. Very happy with the results. Some were definitely in the F-VF range (like they advertise), but several were in the NM+ range. Consider me one happy collector. :tgrin:

I'm not sure if its really too expensive. Considering that only around 80 Leo busts exist of the intended 500. This according to Mr AC Farley himself. Consider this one of the rare TMNT products out there. It has to rank up there with the TMNT #1 first print, TMNT #3 NYCC, maybe TMNT #4 misprint among TMNT collectors. The ebay auction is actually for 4 of them being available for $250 apiece. No I'm not the one who bought 7 of the busts from Mirage but I did manage to get one. :)
Mirage sold the busts for a little more than the original retail price. They had low expectations (I don't get how they always overlook these things). Dan Berger stated to me in an email that Micheal Dooney sold his bust on ebay last year for $30 (the old retail is double that). Who knows what shape Dooney's was in? Box, no box? Bronze or white? So that left them the impression that theres no demand for the bust. I love this bust and think its really one thing a TMNT fan should get. In my opinion its THE Mirage TMNT sanctioned item out there. Brilliant sculpt tho and really wished the idea of doing each turtle actually happened. I just put it up there amongst the other TMNT statues made. I didn't get to finish the Playmates statues (only got Leo), haven't been able to get the Sideshow comiquettes either. I'm just glad to have this one Leo bust from Mirage.
I just don't get why Peter Laird had kept 12 of these busts? When production problems became the issue he decided to keep a clunk? Did Mirage assume not to send it out to comics stores with such a low output made? Really what would have been the point of only honoring 80 comics stores that may have ordered it? The whole bust thing just became a "bust" in execution? Mirage must've been disapointed by Geometric (bust makers). Makes you wonder?

Mirage has some trades on their ebay auctions. The old Tales V1 TPB again and another Shell Shock TPB as well, then all four colored First Comics TMNT TPB's. At the moment I'm really surprised the color books have gone over $40+. Their so common on ebay for less at times as a set.

I finally got my stuff from Mirage today, I got all the TMNT Classics digests #2-7 and no there was no #1 thrown in at all. I got Casey Jones #2 and Gizmo & Fugitoid #1-2. Also my copy of TMNT Challenges was the hardcover edition. I was surprised as I really didn't know it had a hardcover until people mentioned it on this thread. I had a chance back in the early-mid '90's at a local comic store to buy the trade for $1 (I did get TMNT #1 Deluxe trade for a $1 tho) as the store was just dumping stuff and I didn't buy it then as I had this mental thinking that I'd only get TMNT stuff if it was by Eastman & Laird only. My bad. So this is a bit of a kick too myself that I must get it now. I really hope the good words about this book is the same for me when I read it. Its weird that all of us can still be buying stuff from Mirage and they aren't really an active publisher/company anymore in the remote sense. My opinion about the Leonardo bust still stands. It really is a good TMNT item to have.

I really hope nobody buys those busts from that guy. What a dick. I don't care how rare the item is or how much it's worth. Those things sold for $75, and this guy buys four and more than triples the price. I doubt I would have even bought one, but I'm pretty annoyed. Guys, the hardback edition isn't rare. There really isn't much point in everyone who gets a Challenges telling us all that is was hardback. Yes, it's cool, yeah it's totally awesome, but rare it is not.

If u look at old Mirage issues from mid 1990's when they had the the store order form at the end, the Challenges hardcover was offered as a limited edition 500 copies signed. I doubt mine is signed tho. There must be more made for a regular release edition.

But I did not know the one from Mirage was hard back cause iv heard several people say they have recieved a soft cover from them and some have gotten hard back? It's literally as easy as this to get the hardback edition from Mirage. As stated before, I have two hardback editions given to me this year, both shrink-wrapped. My third Challenges book is the softcover I ordered about three and a half years ago - which came with a Dooney sketch/sig. I've not opened up my hardbacks to see if they are autographed, though.

Splinter - The guys get Raph to piss off Splinter to see if he could still fight.
Raphael - After a badass fight with the Foot, retreats before wave 2 shows up and ends up helping a blind, old lady out around her house (better than it sounds lol)
Michelangelo (actually spelled correctly in this book) - Messes with some illegal hunters in ways only Mike can!
Leonardo - Trains his ass off, displaying his prowess and dedication to his family and teachings, forgetting he's a kid really, only to be brought back down to earth by a joke he played on Raph.
Donatello - Designs a game even he can't beat!

Well my Challenges book showed up today in mint shape, I love it, great little stories. I was expecting a book the size of a comic then I see this little hardback book! Very cool I love everything about this book from the stories to the compact size of it. I highly recommend who ever does not own it, to GET it!:D

I read "Challanges" and didn't mind it. It was a simple read that took like a half hour altogether. Neat short stories. I'm not a fan of Dooney's TMNT art style, I found his to be the most cartoony versions of the turtles (next to Mark Martin's TMNT). Their limbs are very long too you'd never assume the turtles were their 4-5 feet height. My gripes but I didn't mind the the book and wished I had it sooner. My hardcover isn't signed either but the dust jacket notes its a 500 limited edition HC tho.

Having just received my Challenges hardcover, I can confirm it's the same size as the softback. Well, being a hardback, it is slightly bigger on the outside, of course; and actually, the pages themselves are slightly smaller than the paperback version; but the printing is the exact same size—the paperback just has a slightly bigger gutter on the bottom of each page.

And it came sealed, so of course wasn't signed, but my softcover version is signed by Dooney with one of his Turtle head sketches.

Within the past couple weeks... Mirage had been selling the colored sets at $55.00 a piece all along but the problem was, so many people were unaware of their online ordering. Thusly, a lot of people overpaid to get them on eBay, etc. I picked up my original sets at my local hobby shop for $35.00 when they were first released.

I can see why... but look at it like an investment. You paid that much 'cause you REALLY wanted a set right? And like you said, they're hard to come by nowadays and do sell for a lot of money. Chances are, there's someone out there that'd pay that much to get their hands on a set as well. So if you ever feel like parting with them or find another set for cheaper, sell the one you have and make your money back.

For 10 years I've made my orders by phone directly with Katie, and paid with either a debit card, credit card, check, and money order. I used to enclose a list to wrap around the payment but as time progressed I trusted she had been doing this long enough to get it right. Hasn't failed yet!

So to answer your question, yes, I've exclusively used "special ordering" as my method of choice and it takes no longer than normal. Three days from putting in my order to it reaching my doorstep.

Not from Mirage (always have something in perpetual order) but some more comics from various sources, like the Bodycount Hardcover, a few cameos/parodies, a couple variant covers.

It's like a disease man! But it makes me happy! My mom says when I get older I'll think to myself "Why did I buy all that stuff?" but I know I won't think that, the Turtles hold a very special place in my heart and since I rediscovered them in 2001 it's remained constant.

If I were you I would pick up the trades that mirage is offering 12-23 for $33 (thats shipped to me) Then begin to work on the 2-11 BTW thats about $3 an issue and that something you can not beat.
