Out of all the characters who had the best character development? Let's discuss, I loved Leos progression and how he failed and was so hard on himself. I enjoyed his darker side on season 4.

Another character was Karai. Being an anti hero then being consumed by evil then turning good again.

Anyways discuss.

All the Turtles pretty much remained the same throughout the shows entire run. Whatever lessons or character growth they got was usually undone or forgotten about by the time the next season began.

I'd say Baxter Stockman, if only because of "Insane in the Membrane" and his Fast Forward ep.

I'm definitely gonna go with the two aforementioned characters, Leo & Baxter.

But when Leo got back to normal, didn't he just turn back to normal and acted as if his emo-phase never happened?

Exactly.

All the Turtles basically wound up exactly the same after whatever story arc came to an end. Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

The Turtles "character growth" was really them just maintaining their same personalities throughout their entire run.

Well, yeah... Isn't that what makes it a phase? It doesn't last forever.

Baxter. If only because he had a happy ending in FF after all the crap he went into.

What happened to Karai is a derailment. I just... she was pretty quiet in the last scenes of Exodus when Ch'rell was banished and then suddenly went "You killed my father!!!" (which THE TMNT DIDN'T IT WAS THE UTROMS WHO BANISHED THE PINK SLUG OFFWORLD) mode in season 4? Does not compute for me.

Leo had a lot of episodes focused on him, but as said by the others it didn't change his already established character. What DID change is his sorta friendship with Karai, he now sees her as a nemesis (which made me scratch my head to this day when she's in April and Casey's wedding but STILL helped Ch'rell in Turtles Forever, it's as if 4Kids can't make up its mind on her).

Don went into two traumatic experiences (SAINW and Gameradon) but he's back to his usual self as soon as that adventure is over.

I wish Mike developed more... make him less annoying. It didn't happen.

I'd like to think Raph developed... but he's not as psychotically messed up as his Mirage counterpart (Mirage Raph said he has blackouts when he goes berserk), so him mellowing out because of his buddy chemistry with Casey didn't stand out for me. His interaction with an old lady is cute though.

Well they all grew as fighters. Go look back to how they were from season 1 to 4. As far as the core of character of course they all stayed true to themselves but that doesn't mean they didn't develop.

A lot of time was spent on Leo, him being a leader, him failing, him being hard on himself and trying overcome it all. To me that shows a lot of character development. A lot of it being focused on in season 4.

I liked how Raph was the emotional one and always had his brothers back when it came down to it.

Stockman went a lot of physical development.

I'd have to say Leonardo. It was fun, interesting, and justified, seeing him take that fall, go into a dark period, and train with the ancient one to renew himself.
In fact, thinking about it makes me wish they had released season 4 of tmnt2k3 in seasons sets. I thought it was the highlight of the show, and really led to some great episodes.

I have all the sets on dvd, i had to go out and buy a regional dvd player and the Aussie TMNT sets. Expensive as hell, i'm watching them right now all in a row.

I think they where all really the same. Well maybe except for Baxter.

I think Leo, I am biased bc he is my fav character, but my main reason is bc of season 4 and 5. In season 4 he was lost, bc he felt like he completely failed beyond belief. But in Season 5 when the Ninja Tribunal Critisized him, he rose above it and he released the Dragon Avatar and became leader of the Akolites.
B4 that he would have given up, Splinter never really critisized Leo, so he wasnt use to it, but he found out how to rise above it.

Wasn't really all that much character development as there was maybe just character revealment, except maybe with Baxter since he went through a deal of transformation and eventually reformation

Ah! Almost forgot that was possible.

Anyone know if there is anyway to play these dvd's on a PS3?

Also i want to add, Leo did change a lot in every shape and form. As far as skill set obviously all the turtles were better, in the beginning Splinter was able to beat all 4 easily. By season 4 Leo surpassed Splinter.

The guy was an animal, workaholic, he got consumed with not wanting to fail. You saw his transformation, and then you saw him conquer it. To me that shows development because he grew.

Yeah that is a good point, but I am shocked no one has mentioned Bishop! He pulled the ultimate 180. He went from being a villian and hating all aliens, to a hero and making peace and accepting other species as friends. He was definately had the most change

He was definately had the most changeI would've mentioned him too, except his goals were very speculative from the start, he did hate aliens, performed a lot of projects at the expense of others, and worked as an adversary to the turtles, but his ends were to protect the planet and he made that known, he was just misconstrued in his beliefs and used destructive means to justify his ends, but I figured from the start sooner or later his eyes would've been opened and his true colors shown, I guess that could be considered a development, though to me it felt like something already there and just waiting to be revealed.

I would say that Leonardo. I really think that in the beginning he was kind of naive. Trying to be a good leader, trying to guide his brothers, but not really sure how to do it. As time passed, he started to become obssesed with perfection, with the intention of never failing to his family, so he struggled hard to be a great warrior, but in the end, he couldn't.

He took their defeat in Exodus in a personal way. He though that he was responsible of that fall, so it took tool on his character a bit. He went onto a self discovery path, and when he returned, he become a lot of wiser, and the leader their family deserved.

Even in Fast Forward, I like the wisdom he displayed in "DNA is Thicker Than Water" to his evil twin.

Yeah, I agree that Leo had the most character development. I liked that because it showed more depth to him. Don went through a bit of a phase like that in BTTS as well, and that was good. Mikey never changed. Every time he learned a lesson it was almost like it never happened and he became his selfish self again. Raph did change a bit after he met Casey but not by much.

^ Big reason right there why I dislike 2k3 Mikey. They neglected actual development for him. S'pity too. Mikey could have been a pretty strong character if they had just wrote him well.

I'm gonna give Nano another 'vote'. He seemed to have the most.. even more so than some of the major characters.

He was a strong character, he was the 2nd best. Lets neglect FF and BTTS, i don't consider those canon even though they are. Mikey had the best fight moves out of everyone in the series.

Case and point for Mikey's non-character development: Turtle Titan.

In the first apperence, Mikey's all about being a superhero, and even aided the Silver Sentry to stop Dr. Malignus, but at the end of the episode he had learned that he as a ninja turtle can do just as much good from the shadows as Sentry does in the light. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!

I may be missing an apperence, but the next time I remember Turtle Titan showing up in a major way was Recruitment Drive in season 5. There Mikey takes up the mantle again because the Justice Force is looking for members. Not a terrible resurgence of the character. I could see Mikey donning the cowl to become a member of the super team, and keeping Michelangelo as a psudeo-secret identity. Goofy, but not bad.

The next 2 apperences of the TT totally derail any attempt to take Mikey's alter ego seriously. In Clash of theTurtle Titans, Mikey is a jealous jerk when he finds that someone (Silver Sentry's non-super powered grandson) has taken up the mantle and is a beloved superhero in the future, and works against him for most of the episode. The next entry is even worse, but probably only because it involves my favorite Turtle, Raphael. In Super Power Strugle, Raph and Mikey fight over the powers of the Green Mantle. This episode is one of the worst of the 4kids run on TMNT, in my opinion. CHARACTER UN-DEVELOPMENT.

Poor Mikey, never had a chance.

I think The 2K3 version of Mike was Bad. There were some moments when I liked him. Wish he could have been more mature

I Dont agree. I dont think Mikey was the best fight in the series. I dont even think he was the best fighter among the turtles.

Bishop I think was the best fight.

Leo was the most well rounded of the turtles.

Anyone who thinks Mikey was "the best fighter of the four" is delusional. I admit he was no slouch but come on now?

I think Hun, Baxter, and to a lesser extent Chaplin had the most development as far as baddies go.

I think Casey jones get over looked too much, I think he had development and it really showed in BTTS. His was just more subtle than the rest. As for turtles Leo all the way.

I would have to go with Leo. Though some of his traumatized episodes were hard to watch. But they showed his disintegration and his healing well. It is time that a children's cartoon dealt with PTSD.

April was developed rather well also.
