All I was told was that it would be similar to what we saw in March, but obviously the event is shorter in length, so we probably won't see all of the same stuff.

Greg Cipes was there in March. I have no idea if the VAs will be at this event.

Just got this info: There will be three one-hour previews, at 4, 5 and 6 PM at an off-site location close to the convention center.

So, what are your thoughts on the weapons change for Don and Mike? I believe Don is going to be more lethal due to having a Yari. Mike on the other hand will be more of a long distance attacker instead of the close range attacker he is now with the nunchaku. To use the kusari-gama effectively, you will need some space between you and your opponent in order to protect yourself by swinging the chain around. The kama part is only used for close quarter combat in order to get out of sticky situations. So, I believe Mike's combat techniques will change dramatically.

Yeah. Don or Mike will probably use their weapon to either hang or nail someone to the wall while fighting. Mike will be caught swinging over large gaps between buildings also.:tlol:

Neca did TMNT NYCC exclusives two years in a row if memory serves... And The Mirage artists usually had exclusive prints whenever they went...so I wouldn't say never...

The thing is, that for all the name/information gathering I had to do for the tickets I had to give away, when I went to pick mine up they just gave them to me without even asking my name. I'm not convinced they're even paying attention to the list. I also heard they'd be bringing in people off the street to fill any empty seats they have. So if you want to try to get into an earlier sessions just to be safe, there'd be no harm in trying.

The ultimate purpose of this write-up is a starting point for people looking for info on the upcoming show. It'll likely be edited and updated as more stuff becomes known. Like I said before, most of this you already know, but there's a few unique things, some descriptions, some clarifications, and whatnot that may be new to you.

For you guys, who already know most of this, the clarifications were there to give you a better picture of what I saw since I couldn't actually take pictures or video during the event.

EDIT: I will say that, aside from very few things, I wrote this based off what was said at the SDCC MiP and not taken from the MiP in March. So, what you see that's different is different from what was said in March.

This is new: Don with buck teeth. He either broke a tooth, or he was just "Born This Way.":tlol: (Lady Gaga joke). I don't particularly like it that much. But if I find out why, I won't be bothered. The ultimate purpose of this write-up is a starting point for people looking for info on the upcoming show. It'll likely be edited and updated as more stuff becomes known. Like I said before, most of this you already know, but there's a few unique things, some descriptions, some clarifications, and whatnot that may be new to you.

For you guys, who already know most of this, the clarifications were there to give you a better picture of what I saw since I couldn't actually take pictures or video during the event.

EDIT: I will say that, aside from very few things, I wrote this based off what was said at the SDCC MiP and not taken from the MiP in March. So, what you see that's different is different from what was said in March.Nice, but I still hate the fact they made April a teenager and seems that Raph is going to be a hothead again as opposed to a pessimistic sarcastic smart ass. Well, we'll see how that goes. Either way, seems like they are trying to set this up to pull fans from both previous animated versions of the show. I look forward to the humor aspect of it.

Nothing new. It was a "Here they are! Turtles are 5 inches! Shredder's 6 inches! Yay!!!" Not much time to get a good look, either. I'll eventually just make a "toys" write-up when there's more to say.

I honestly don't remember the voice (from the one line at the very end while super excited) well enough to imitate it, but I remember it fitting Raph extremely well for either sarcasm or angry outbursts. A bunch of other people from the forums are at SDCC and went to this. Maybe they'll remember a little better.

Leo sounds nice, too. When he tried to sound all heroic, it came off like Cam Clarke's Leo from the second season OT, but when he talked normally he sounded younger and more natural like Michael Sinterniklaas' Leo.

Also, they rolled their eyes at Leo because his heroic line was corny, they're teenage brothers, and they gave their brother a hard time over him saying something lame like real teenage boys do. It was something like:

Leo: "HALT VILLAIN!"

Raph: "Wait. 'Halt villain?' What kind of line is that?"
Leo: "We're heroes. We're supposed to say stuff like that."

Most of what I know about their personalities was spoken directly from the writers mouths' as well as the animation studio VP that was running the show. If anyone knows the Turtles in this incarnation, it's the guys who're writing the show.

As for Splinter, I think he was a bit darker brown than the OT, but he was a bit gray around the edges and had that thin goatee like in 2K7. I only saw a mugshot and it wasn't even CG. His face wasn't as long as previous incarnations, either. He looked a bit younger, but still not someone in his prime.

I'm not sure if I like this dialouge, but someone may say to change the scene. But yeah, I get the picture. Well, if you wanna get technical, REAL historical ninja never actually had uniforms. They blended in by dressing like farmers, merchants, etc. In other words, they looked like average, everyday people (the people you'd least expect to suddenly pull out a sword and kill you out of nowhere).

From what I remember of the preview, Don does indeed have a gap in his teeth.

I really liked what I saw, and am looking forward to the cartoon. Wish there'd been a bit more animation present, and that maybe they'd some how wrangled some of the voice actors, but overall I left with a good feeling.

Things that I didn't like included: that they'd run out of pizza before I'd gotten a chance to snag a slice, the initial design of Splinter that I saw, and the fact that it wasn't Astin voicing Raph in the short snippet of animation we did see.

I really dug Biggs as Leo.

I wonder too, I mean I'm trying to imagine when 2k3 Shredder was revealed and you could have also said it was "the scariest Shredder yet nothing like the previous versions" and while maybe true at the time after the shock/new value of the 2k3 Shredder wore off he didn't seem that special anymore.

That's okay. I trust you. Can't wait for Shredder. You don't have to draw him. It's April I'm concerned about. I read your description about her on your site. Shorts? I would have pictured her wearing short pants. I like to see a drawing of her. If not, just answer me a few questions: Was her hair short like "Victoria Justice" short, or "X-Men movie Mystique" short? Was she wearing any socks, and if they were, were they no shows? That seems to be a look teenage girls dress in today.

And what about Splinter? Can you draw him, too? I'd sure like to see how he would actually appear as a rat in a robe and pants.:twink:

From the sounds of it, this is the darkest Shredder yet. But the Turtles and the tone of the show seems lighthearted.

There wasn't much to like on the Nick side of the presentation at all (for me personally), apart from wondering why no one else is wondering why Joe Pesci is talking to us about Turtle toys and all that. There were such nuggets as: "And what would the Shredder be without a cool vehicle!" and "The Foot need to be our comic relief, so we can show how dark Shredder is!" Doesn't sound like anything has changed at all from all the reports from that Nick focus group/whatever a few months back, which makes me wonder why they even bothered with that.

And Joe Pesci lied, by the way... there was no more pizza on the way. I was promised artichoke-topping pizza and by the time I waded my way to the back of the room it was all gone.

When it was IDW time and those three boards rotated around into the light and we saw Kevin's 3 covers so far blown up big and huge, now that was pretty cool.

From what I hear from the Foot Soldiers to me it seems they are taking the same approach the Star Wars Clone Wars CG cartoon took with the droid soldiers which is a shame, sure they can be funny and when they want to they can make them feel threatening they are handled well don't get me wrong however most of the time you know that when the droids appear its comedy relief time and that's not what I want when I see the foot soldiers. Then again I guess the foot soldiers were always shown as threatening in the 2k3 show and I don't really care for them either so who knows.
