Sorry, I've been playing Mutant Melee and am at a frustrating point where I, as Donatello, must singlehandedly take on 3 Foot Soldiers (each wielding life bar draining spears, one giant Foot, AND Oroku Saki. This lead me to remember Splinter's line in The Shredder Strikes Back where he called Shredder a coward, hiding behind the large army of Foot(I know...it's only 4, but I love how one sided this fight is...THEY HAVE SPEARS!!) to wear the Turtles down by sheer numbers.
So yeah...Utrom Shredder ain't so tough. If it weren't for all the cannon fodder, he'd be no problem. Thoughts?

So wait... are you trying to slander the good name of Ch'rell or are you just saying you stink at video games?
Also... the semi-official "Mutant Melee" appreciation (or disappreciation) thread:

I am slandering the good name of the vile slug...he is quite literally a spineless coward. I mean look what he did to Leo. Had his forces tear him a new one...while he was a lone.
That's how alien warlords do. Get used to it.

You do remember him taking on all four turtles in Shredder Strikes and beating all four of them right? Of course, technically, the robotic exosuit defeated them. All Ch'rell did was control it. I guess without an exosuit, he probably wouldn't be that much of a physical threat.

But... he hugged Raph's face! And 1988 Shredder's... TWICE!

Did he take them on without the Foot as backup...NO!
In fact at times in the fight, he would attack a Turtle already preoccupied with a Foot Soldier. Donatello in particular comes to mind.

Good point. Freakin KRANG woulda killed him in Turtles Forever if it weren't for Karai.

Fools! Ch'rell is The Shredder! Slayer of Ninja Turtles! Destroyer of Worlds! He crushes anyone who stands in his way, and he destroys ALL who defy him! He fears NO-ONE!
...Ahem, ok, now:
He beat the Turtles a lot of times. Yes, he had the Foot as back-up, but he could've easily defeaten them himself. It's just that those are his ninja's, and they're loyal to him.
It was his exosuit who fought for him, but Ch'rell did learn the martial arts, otherwise he wouldn't be able to fight as he can. But I have to admit: he cannot defeat the Turtles without his exoskeleton. I do know that the writers wanted to make him stronger and a bigger threat without his exosuit, as you can see in Turtles Forever. Even without his exosuit, he has amazing strength and speed and could harm the Turtles. Not defeat them, but harm then and while they'd recover he'd hide until he has acces to an exosuit again.

Wasn't he like kicking Leo's, Raph's, Mikey's and Splinter's asses without the Shredder suit in Exodus? Especially when he found out Bishop was there, he got straight to business. Yeah sure he was still in an exo suit but that's what makes him Shredder.

One of the greatest scene's in the show's history. They just burst into battle. It's one of the greatest fights that the turtles/Splinter have against the Shredder.

Yeah. I also love how they got away with showing the arrows going into Saki's arms and stomach (would have scared the bejesus out of a little kid with no idea about Ch'Rell).
I've always figured that Ch'Rell was powerful enough on his own and in his exo-suit, but always feared death - that's why he explained to Karai how to use the worms, why he backed his memory up into a file. I also think that's why he always made sure to attack when the turtles and Splinter were most vulnerable.

Maybe he doesn't seem tough without the exosuit, but he's still a formidable foe. Besides that, he crushes all who oppose him and doesn't give them a second chance. And look at all of his crimes they listed in Exodus part 2. To me, that shows that although he may not be tough in the physical sense, he's still a powerful foe and an evil one at that.

Turo's referring to the Shredder armor. Maybe he'll eventually realize he's the only one on his boat. :P

I love the way Shredder (Ch'rell) says "what?" whenever he's incredulous over something having gone wrong.
Hun: "Master, the turtles got away!"
Shredder: "What?"

I thought that was stupid, because he just stood there with his mouth hanging open after just saying "What?"
If the writers wanted to be more realistic, he could have said things like:
"No! Everything was ready! EVERYTHING WAS READY!"
"Oh no. Oh no! NO!"
"Not fair! Not fair! I was winning! I was winning!"

If the writers wanted to be more like the whiny old Fred Wolf Shredder, he could have said things like:
"No! Everything was ready! EVERYTHING WAS READY!"
"Oh no. Oh no! NO!"
"Not fair! Not fair! I was winning! I was winning!"
Fixed .

I just enjoyed how such an evil villain could be reduced to incredulity.

Simply put, Ch'rell fights without honor. And he ended without honor. Yoshi's final words rang true.

The way I see it is this: in a purely physical fight, assuming he hasn't upgraded his suit in some way, the Shredder will defeat any individual turtle 90% of the time. He'll beat any two turtles 70% of the time, any three turtles 40% of the time, and all four turtles 20% of the time. Just like the Shredder's most definitive victories over the turtles come down to overwhelming numbers, the turtles' most overwhelming victories over Shredder come down to the fact that they manage to outnumber him.
