Aw, sweet! I think you guys might end up doing more justice to Baxter & Donatello's relationship than The Brain Thief mini-series!
I'll go ahead an shoot you an email, but I just wanted to make sure you still remember that I went ahead and paid for both issues 24 & 25 at once so that I could save on shipping.

I tried. No luck. First I inquired about a standard piece, he said he'd be taking forever on Andrew's piece and that it was too much work and far too time consuming & adding another to the list would just be pointless. He told me as well that it'd be his last time. I then told him I'd pay for a simple convention sketch, like just the head of a turtle for the same price of a normal commission and even that he wouldn't do. :ohwell:

Yes, Craig did Bioneers #1 (A.K.A. Recombatants) as a part of NEXT project by Mirage Studios. It's supposed to be a trilogy, such as Laird's Stupid Heroes and Dooney's Xenotech, but sadly only one issue was printed.
You can download #1 from A.C. Farley's site:

Demand for this conclusion was higher than realized.

I am glad to see with this issue the Image series has been "saved" and retconned back into continuity, not that it really matters since Peter Laird is no longer in control anyway.

Though it will not conclude Volume 4, per se, "Odyssey" will give the Mirage-verse a sound enough conclusion.

http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd476/adamopruett/Emoticons/siren.gif TMNT V3 #25 UPDATE!! http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd476/adamopruett/Emoticons/siren.gif
• First, the bad news: Due to many factors (including my new family member and all of us juggling our day jobs), issue 25 is not finished yet. But we are on our way. As you saw in DA's recent post, the inked art is complete. The lettering is nearly complete. We're getting the tones done as quickly as possible.
Throw the holidays in the mix, and we may not finish before January. But we will definitely, definitely finish before February -- guaranteed. We're working as fast as we can, and it's possible that we may actually end up finishing sooner than expected, but again, end-of-January is my concrete deadline promise to you guys.
• Now, the good news! #25 (and the #24 reprint) are now going to be printed STATESIDE! This means NO LONG SHIPPING WAIT this time around! This means that even though the new issue is taking longer to finish, the wait on your end will probably not be much different; you may even get the issue sooner because we don't have to wait weeks and weeks for the books to travel overseas. The books should also not contain any of the printing errors they had before and should be of a generally higher print quality overall. http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd476/adamopruett/Emoticons/dance.gif
Anyway, that's the news for now. Thanks to all of you for your patience, and I will be sure to keep you updated on our schedule as we hit the home stretch here in the coming weeks. http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd476/adamopruett/Emoticons/hooray.gif

Is Adam still thinking end of February? Later? Sooner?
I've placed my order for #25. I actually gone thru with these fan made comics. Ordered the reprinting of Tales of TMNT #71 (TMNT #8 translation, can't wait for this one). They're great ideas putting them to life. I just hope theres enuff hoopla to make IDW think about doing an official follow up to the Image series, with Fosco and Carlson. I mean they've been doing it now with GI Joe and Transformers post Marvel comics' follow ups.
Is Adam still thinking end of February? Later? Sooner?
End of January was the goal for finishing the issue. And unless one of us gets hit by a car or something in the next week -- we will make that goal.
After that, we just have to wait on printing and shipping -- which, as I described, won't be coming from overseas this time, so it'll be much faster. Andrew or I will let you guys know as soon as we have more information about shipping times.
So... more updates to come. And soon. :)

#25 and the second printing version of #24 are at the printer now.
They'll be sending us proof copies to review immediately. The first printing of #24 had a number of printing errors (not just that white band effect some of you had), and we're hoping to prevent that kind of stuff from happening this time around.
And according to the printer, the books go out very quickly once the proofs have been approved. :)

On one bit of a sad note it seems confirmed that Jim will run out of duoshade paper before Odyssey is complete (by my estimates, the last third will go un-duoshaded). And it's not made anywhere at all anymore... and people have bought up what remains of it and aren't givin' it up. Really sad to hear, and I'm sure a lot more sad for the guys that use the stuff on the day to day... to me, feels like a huge part of the past is dying and there's nothing we can do about it. I even called up the company that manufactured it and they said they destroyed the (very pricey to use) machine that made it when they moved.
Talked to just about everyone I know and the only guy that still has any kind of a stock is Kevin, and he needs them.
Not the end of the world, though... the duoshading technique can be mimicked/replicated digitally for the remaining pages (and it will be, one way or the other), but I think we can all agree it won't be quite the same as Jim himself sitting there applying/painting the shades himself.
Oh, and Dan Berger is working on a 3 page prologue for the story. How cool is that?

it is really sad for me too to see that duo shade paper is dying out;(..I asked peter laird last year about it and he kindly replyed to me about the exact same observation(that people are not manufactoring it any longer soon...)
I am doing my own comics now and always wanted to do something with this effect paper...I always thought it made look really interesting and beautiful, even enriching the drawing to some extend...as you mentioned andrew it is possible to recreate the effect with computers but it is not the same...

Personally, as much as I love the IDW series and am looking forward to the new show, I'd rather keep them out of it and leave this firmly in the "Mirage Era". That said, after the job he did with #24 I'd trust Andrew to make anything work.
This project is looking awesome, should be a nice finale for the Mirage era. Is it set right at the end of the Mirage timeline, or is the idea that some stuff (like Swan Song's epilogue and the new collected Tales frontispieces/epilogue) still take place after this?

The only reason I even thought of Null is he was the only main Archie villain not given closure:
- Malinga and Scul/Bean crash into the sun and burn.
- Slash dies in the same fashion.
- Chien Khan was mostly likely killed by the Demon he made a pact with, given we never saw him again after he was pulled into the demon world.
- Verminator-X actually became good at the end of the CyberTurtles arc, after Don reprogrammed him after Raph shot him
- Armaggon was trapped in dimensional limbo, with no way of getting anywhere due to not having a time machine. (Although he is the other most likely to return)
Null was really the only major villain left without closure. He does say he can't be killed in the Malinga arc, so I just assume he is immortal and they left it at that.

Okay, I'm officially sold on double dipping for the reprint now. It looks great. And #25 looks fantastic! Way to whet our appetites. :D
Speaking of appetites, I'm practically drooling over those preview panels of Odyssey. This is exciting stuff! Andrew, I don't want to pry for information about the plot, but how did this project come to be? Did you approach Jim with the idea, or did the two of you work it out together, or what? Consider my interest peaked! :)
Null is my favorite villian of all time. We know he's pure evil, and not just because we're told he's the bad guy, but because we're shown the reasons why. That's why I love to hate him. Another part of the appeal of the character for me, though, is the mystique that surrounds him. I'm hesitant to discover more about him, but at the same time, I'm dying to know. I have my suspicions about his identity, but if it was that big of a surprise, I could be wrong.
Andrew, I have to ask: If Null was never going to appear in The Forever War, then was this big secret about his true identity never supposed to have been revealed? Was he originally intended to remain an enigma? I'm kind of on the fence about whether of not I even want to know. :)

I considered doing the same thing with Infestation 2, but I can't. I couldn't begin to imagine doing it with this!
To quote Hank Hill, "I do like delayed gratification."
Please, I hate reading comics on the internet. Gimme me ink and paper any day!

I think that's about fair to say. Location and seniority of orders will be factor, of course.

I can't believe I've waited nearly 12 years to find out how the Turtles injuries heal between Image and Volume 4.
If this second issue is as great as the first one was, we're in for a treat. Not to mention I just remembered the Shredder clones return, which is something I completely forgot about until recently. :)

I hope it will arrive not too late for international buyers. Had ordered 24 and 25.
I doubt it will arrive in a good condition, tho there is nothing can be done about that. Since ordering through here is the only way to own a printed copy... good condition or not.
Any info about in what kind of package it is being sent? Envelope?

I got issue 24 in pristine condition (bagged and boarded) to the UK. Andrew did a great job and I'm sure 25 will be the same. Can't wait!!!

Yes, I had no problems with the packing, either.
The one thing I will ask is that the envelopes be marked DO NOT BEND - If you don't the postal carrier WILL smoosh it into a small apartment mailbox despite the larger box for packages being right there.

I'd like to stress the DO NOT BEND thing too.
My 2 copies of #24 got kinda f**ked up on the edges, one of 'em even has a crease through the whole book.

When it is sent inside an envelope it is generally based on luck to arrive in good condition or not. Espacially if it is international mail.
I am generally too picky about the conditions ( maybe even more than it should be, that most of times it can ruin my reading experience )
But for this one, getting a considerably good conditioned one will be ok for me i guess. Not waiting it to arrive NM, but will be extra happy if it does ofc.

It's not luck in my case, it's just that my mail lady is a c u next Tuesday who jams everything into the mailbox without care. :(

Probably easier just to ask rather than try to find the answer in the thread... if I wanted to order both issues with shipping to the UK, how much in total would it be?

Also, let me know definitively via E-mail who wants Arseniy/Demon Alukard to sign it. He's happy to sign whatever I send him and to then send it off to whoever wanted it signed... but just keep in mind this is going to automatically increase your wait time by another 2 or 3 weeks, maybe more (he's in Russia).

I got to be honest, sitting here with all these boxes of #25s around me writing down names and addresses again -- for the last time, now -- it's really kind of awesome. Awesome that this was able to come to fruition in some form and awesome that I'm able to deliver on the promise made just over two years ago... and it's shocking to me that it's been that long.
As those know that've been following the progress of this since its genesis, it all began with a question I posed on this forum: "Would you be interested in helping in an Image Vol. 3 conclusion?" The overwhelming support and help happened almost overnight. I met Courtland. I met Adam. Powder threw in his support. Alukard came aboard. Gary was already supportive, and then Frank came aboard... and it seems like things never quite stopped snowballing. The twists and turns, the surprises (many of them as much of a pleasant surprise to me as anyone else).
So now here we are... at the end. It's been a fun ride. Wouldn't have been possible without you guys, and I hope no one will be disappointed with the finished product.

It's been awesome. A privilege both as a participant, and reader of the books. You are our comic savior, literally keeping the Mirage canon active and alive. I appreciate that greatly. Out of your own pocket you provide us with REAL turtle comics. I hope we cross paths one day so I can buy you a beer, haha.

Yeah, I imagine you must have paid a small fortune out of your own pocket just to bring this all together. It truly takes a dedicated fan to do that, especially since you're also not really making any real profit out of this either.

Thanks for the shout-out! I'm proud to have contributed what I could (and thanks for the autograph, too!)
Quick question for the Turtle Tips: What was the print run on #25? I'm sure the answer's somewhere in this thread, but I dunno where to start looking.

Nope. Have sent two big batches so far (one on Friday morning, one on Saturday morning), going down the list in order of pre-ordering. Will prepare the third batch shortly.
I mean, the international orders as well?
Some, yes. The ones that fell within the first two batches I've sent.

If I recall, it's about the exact same page count as #24. Difference being, there's a lot more "main" story and a lot less backup material in #25 vs. #24.
