Looks like a rat snake of some sort. There is a species in spain and portugal which has coloration similar to that.

Your buddy is a boy. Probably just looking for water.

Just watch out some coral snakes may look like milk snake. Coral snakes is super deadly. I tried to find this type of snake on the web but it is just not that easy. It may be a water moccasin but im not sure. Water moccasins are dangerous.

Ugh. That definitely isn't a poisonous snake.

it looks like a ladder back snake, which is a type of rat snake that isn't poisonous, and is native to Spain and Portugal.....which is the part of the world Luz lives in. It's markings are just mottled a bit, which isn't unusual at all.

The only poison type snakes in that part of the world are brown...or vipers which have totally different shaped heads.
