Raph's Pet Turtle "Spike"

First, awwwww.

Funny because in the OT it was Bebop who had a pet turtle who became Slash.

Maybe he just finds it injured or starving or whatever and brings it home to take care of it. I don't see the turtles going out of their way to have pet turtles, but I can certainly see them doing that.

For a pointless thought along that line of thinking, maybe this Raphael could even get a happy future running a turtle sanctuary or something.

I highly disagree.

If he does get mutated and become Slash, it would create a really cool dynamic between him and Raphael. It would be pretty sad that Slash would refuse to go by the name that Raph gave him and hate his former owner for whatever reason.

Then again, he might just be plain old spike throughout the entire series.

Spike becomes Slash? Sounds like some Pokemaniacs in here as even though people and animals mutate like they evolve in Pokemon and are given a different name, it is not proper in TMNT to be given a new name upon mutation, not to mention they don't mutate through experience and training like the Squirtles and Wartortles do. On the other hand, Spike could have been de-mutated by Shreddder at some point.

There is part of me that doesn't even want to suggest this, but after reading the thread I can't get it out of my mind.

We as fans have been asked to accept Mutant Turtle/Human relationships Leonardo/Radical being the most adult oriented, then 2k3 Leonardo/Karai, and here Donatello/April.

The thought I have is would be be able to accept Mutant Turtle/Turtle relationships. Not to insinuate anything like that will be done in the show, but it is a reason why I feel its a little hinky for a mutant to have something of its own species as a pet.

He was originally Bebop's pet. And this is all just speculation. No one can say definitively if Spike will do any more than be Raph's pet.

Yeah like Spike was in the bowl with them. When it falls and breaks getting hit with ooze the other four got hit but Spike didn't. That Raph takes him in and protects him because he can't protect himself like they can.

I think Raphael peting a little turtle is a nice way to show him sometimes more soft/a touch of "sensible nice guy" and not only pure "muscle" character.... :tgrin:

I would kind of like to see Klunk *if in the show* and Spike have kind of like the Pikachu/Togepi relationship. Since Spike is a turtle like the guys he would actually try to mimic things the turtles do,like leaping off a high spot, and Klunk would attempt to save him which causes him harm in his stead, not to any of the other turtle's knowledge of course
