TMNT is cooler than MOTU

Does anyone else absolutely love the look of the mutagen in this? It looks sooo damn cool!

I'm surprised its not more greenish. It's more like bright blue with a neon glow.

I'm a little disappointed they didn't keep it green (or make it purple like in the OT) but it definitely does look really cool. Five imaginary bucks says dopey ass Playmates takes the lazy mans route and puts out the same green ooze as always when the time comes, instead of going to the effort of making it screen accurate.

I was thinking this as I watched the show again earlier and was going to make a thread..didn't know if it would be worth it though.

Anyway, the mutagen would make for a cool black light

I like how the ooze itself has such defined integrity. Raph could let it ooze slowly out of the canister but then easily scoop it back at a second's notice. Seems like it would make for some really fun play putty... assuming you don't care about those "side-effects."

Also...

"Let's drink some!"
[Best line of the episode, IMO]

I kind of wish they would have made it that same pinkish purple of the ot, but it does look cool. Mabye we'll see some various coloured ooze in the toyline, green pink/purple and neon bluish if were lucky.

I never thought about one being shaped like the canister from the show.
That would be pretty cool.

The playset got molded green ooze on the action feature used for the not yet released ooze.

I love the color of the ooze and thought it was sweet that Mikey thought of it as Mom. I also love the texture of the ooze and how Raph tried to use it to bribe Snake into telling them what he knew.

I'm not sure what to make of the Mutagen's properties in this version. On one hand, I really like the idea of the Mutagen not being perfected to the Kraang's liking. This is an idea that has never been used and I find it intriguing.

For instance, while I never imagined a mutant plant, I do like the idea of Snakeweed, even though personally, I wish he was more humanoid. But the idea is really cool! I'd always wanted to see a Cactus mutant as a kid, so this is probably the closest I'll get to that.

That being said, I really don't like the visual design of some of the mutants so far. My main gripes being SpiderBytez, Rockwell and lately Xever and Pigeon Pete.

In the case of SpiderBytez, visually, I hated the animation design and I almost wish if that's the route they wanted, why not make SpiderBytez a giant alien spider servient to the Kraang instead of mutating Vic? Maybe, I'm just disappointed because I've always been interested in a spider mutant but not like this.

With Rockwell, I wish they had given him a personality rather then just making him a beast. I could see him becoming both a tragic character and an ally of the Turtles but the writers don't seem to be able to pick a consistent mutation. Again, this could be deliberate as part of the unstable Mutagen. I just wish Rockwell had spoken and been given a personality, otherwise it's just wasted to mutate everything.

Oh, Xever. If I have sympathized with one mutant it would be you. First, I love that Xever was mutated into a Piranha. I've always thought there should be more fish mutants but did you have take away his legs? I said in another thread that while I love the design from a toy standpoint but I just feel it's a wasted opportunity unless you want to turn him into a tragic character that is now reliant on the Shredder for survival. Xever could be just as bad ass with legs and with the water as his new element could prove to be an adversary in the sewers. Just sayin'!

Pigeon Pete looked more like a man trapped in a bird costume then a mutant. Again, I understand the Mutagen is being perfected but it irritates me that the writers just can't pick one style. Similar to Splinter's human hands, if you're going to mutate someone, go all the way. I hope that Pigeon Pete comes back with a slight redesign. he seems like he could be an interesting character and an ally in the skies.

What's funny about that is that in the OS, at first it was pinkish but throughout the series they changed the color to green. Hmm. So if the Nick series has different colored mutagen, I guess I can't blame them.

Rockwell looked like a normal monkey. It was the fact that he used to be human that makes him a mutant at all, appearance-wise anyways.

And again, Pigeon Pete had to be all freaky with rotten eggs or whatever being stuck on his face and along his back.

Again I ask, why were the Turtles and Splinter 'perfect mutations' and not have spikes, claws or random shell pieces all over the place?

I was just thinking how much I loved the look of the Mutagen in this new series.

BTW it is most likely not green because Nickelodeon might want to distinguish it from their green slime that is such a staple of their brand.

It's a very pretty and hypnotizing color. If it were in a lava lamp you'd just want to drink it.

Same here!!!! :) :) :) !!

....I think ....Maybe that special canister that was broke in the fight was a perfect One for first time...Kraangs just loose the most perfect Ooze in the fight with Splinter and the 4 pet turtles!!!...since then ...they never recovered the perfect formulation for Ooze!!!!! :tgrin::tgrin: :trazz:
Just an idea! That will be a reason for Krang to try capture Splinter and Turtles for experimenting the with results of perfect Ooze!

I like the new ooze too,
If they could get it to light up a small cannister would make a cool keyring, along the lines of the bioluminescant krill lights.

Oh and Powder,
You owe us all five imaginary dollars (unless you meant bucks as in male deer)
Cheque will be fine.
