How big of a role will Karai have?

I don't think it will be very large, it's possible she'll just be in Sachs hideout for one scene and then commanding the foot in the subway scene. It's possible she will die too.

We haven't seen much of her in the trailers, so I'm guessing we won't see a lot of her in the film. I'm a big fan of Karai, so I'm hoping I'm wrong, or that things develop in this first film in a way which lead her to getting a bigger role in the sequel.

Karai and Taylor are the only ones we have not seen in released images or trailers in character. That being said I think she would take the role Tatsu held for the first two films, but how many scenes will that mean?

Now that Oroku Saki has been revealed (or so we believe, anyway), her inclusion makes a lot more sense. I imagine she'll be Sach's tie to Saki, in that she introduces them or something like that. Perhaps Saki sends her out to watch Sach's men & make sure he doesn't double cross him. I'm sure she'll be there as more than just added muscle, though I can't say I expect her to have much screen time despite that.

i wouldn't expect that in this one..you have to establish the rivalry other wise its just some random fight no different from the others

and depending time putting that, along with everything else in one film would take away from some sort of story

Based on what you hear in the trailer, The Turtles may have encountered the Foot Clan before, When you hear Donnie monitoring the surveillance video and saying. "Surveillance is showing heavy foot clan activity."

Taylor is the character played by Abby Elliott. She is April's roommate and said to be Irma by another name. This character like Karai has yet to appear in anything more than the actors behind the scenes photos.

And yes that would be find just because thing are preestablished doesn't mean they still can't have a plot jus mean time does have to be taken to fully explain everything, it like batman we know who he is and why he's there no need t to keep explaining.

This. She'll be the new Tatsu.... because a 15 foot tall robotic Shredder (likely with Krang in his belly or head) can't be the kind of Shredder that does much of anything but look menacing and lunge around like a Transformer.

Still don't know if saki is in the movie. For all we know Sachs could be talking to Baxter. For all we know saki might not do much more than bark orders and Sachs will be wearing the shredcepticon armor.

I am curious about Taylor. With all the 80s references I wonder why not just call her Irma. Even if she's someone completely different looking I still wouldn't put it past them to name her Irma anyway. Weird.

Agree with this. Karai will probably have a supportive role in the first film being the second-in-command, and after the Shredder is temporary defeated for the end of the first film, her role will much more prominent/crucial in the sequel. Kind of similar with Tatsu's role in the 1990s movie trilogy, but she'll have a bigger role considering how much more popular she is in the franchise, but yet also depending on how defeated Shredder is in the first film.

the chucks themselves are longer than the standard length, its not the clearest, but the position of his hands, can only indicate two weapon types, either:

- eskrima sticks (doble baston) OR
- 'chucks

...and yes, I know my s***, I've studied several styles of martial arts since I was a child. I blame the Turtles for my early fixation/obsession. even better IMO. Kevin Eastman kept talking about RAID inspired fight scenes, and the RAID was heavy with Silat, and Eskrima based open hand, and weapon techniques.

the scene when you see the foot running down the tunnel, in the sewers there are two foot doing the same thing as well as some hold shields and rifles and batons and staffs

If Karai ends up dying like the OP said, maybe Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II will be about the Turtles going down to the Underworld to rescue her soul? Incarnations of the TMNT always tend to start semi-realistic and gradually get crazier over time.
