View Full Version : Which is worse? TMNT 3 or TMNT 2014?

Now that the new movie is out I started to become really curious about which TMNT movie is now considered the worst (amongst people who did NOT like the 2014 movie).

I'm going to just say that I think 2014 was worse. Don't get me wrong. I still think 3 is a bad movie but it was more enjoyable as a TMNT movie (or a movie in general) than the 2014 movie.

I'm curious to see how it ends up in my own head. Although I do chuckle at TMNT 3. Tossing aside the fact it was made super-cheap - sometimes, you just have to roll with that, unfortunately - the worst thing about it just was that it was pretty boring. A lot of stuff happens, but nothing really happens, y'know? It just kind of meanders around until its over, the ending comes without much struggle or conflict at all, and then they throw in the whole "Y'know, what? F*** Master Splinter and those other guys, let's just stay here and keep screwing up history!" angle in at the last second, to try and create some artificial conflict right before the end. I don't think it's "bad", exactly, as much as its entirely unimpressive.

I think the new one might be worse from an entirely different direction, but I don't know for sure yet.

I loved TMNT 2! I liked the new movie also, was it everything I hoped for? No.... But it was still good!!!!:D Probably would have been better if I had not read ALL the spoilers! lol.
TMNT 3 was the worse out of all TMNT movies imo

Not much. I remember some intro where they are practicing, and Leo using his swords like scissors to cut off some guy's ponytail, but that's all i remember. Mikey got to use his chucks against a villain?

There are 5 big fight scenes throughout the film.

A friend saw it last night. I got a blow by blow from start to finish, and man, I can't wait until you see it. The best part was, this friend was trying to convince me how great it was, and I just kept laughing.

It's very odd, some of the things some cats are most excited about, are things that make me just cringe. I'unno man.

It'll be interesting when I do see it. The wife isn't looking forward to it at all so it might not even be worth going in theaters if she's gonna be cranky. I'unno, we'll see. She actually likes the third movie, but not a whole lot.

TMNT III is still worse. With all its flaws, the new TMNT at least holds your attention. Even as a kid, I remember watching TMNT and wishing one of the bad guys from the cartoon was in it.

You really have no credibility in your opinion on the new TMNT because you haven't seen it. But I guarantee even if you did see it, you would just force yourself to hate it.

TMNT 3 is SO bad. How does the puppetry and technology of the Turtle's faces get WORSE with time?! The opening to the movie feels like a sitcom. Overall it just feels like a made for TV movie.

And TMNT 2 was the one they pandered to soccer moms.

Sometimes a friend or acquaintance will start telling me about how much they like a certain film/series/other fiction and I'll start going through the mental checks of "Why am I friends with you? How much do I value our relationship?"

Not a great place to be. I'm sorry.

And TMNT 2 was the one they pandered to soccer moms.

That reminds me though. Did anyone see the turtles were their weapons in this movie? I see Leonardo use his sword a few seconds in the sewers in the final battle. Raphael used his Sai to block for Leonardo. Donatello used his Bo a little in the sewer fight and popping the car, and Michaelangelo used his nunchucks to grab on from falling. That's about all I can remember about the weapons being used in the fights.

How is this an absurd poll? It's a legitimate query I have for people who did not like the new movie. The poll is not going to accurate because while this poll is mostly for people who did not like the new movie I know it's going to be thrown off by people who did like the new movie and will vote for TMNT 3 just so the 2014 movie won't have as many votes.

This isn't a general "did you think the new movie sucks?" thread.

Hands down 3 was the worst move thus far. I remember seeing it way back when it came out as a kid and instantly saw how much worse the puppetry was compared to the original two. The plot was the definition of forgettable. Even though its terrible, I still watch it from time to time just to have a good laugh.

The 2014 movie actually surprised me. I went in knowing of all the negative media and forum hype. Other than a few gripes with the pacing with the origin, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't wait for the sequel.

Now you want to Argue? And we were doing so well!

I really wish people would get my point. I just don't need to see it. I've seen enough movies to be able to look at a trailer an know what it's going to be.
There isn't anything in the trailers that I find appealing. Not one.. shred.
The real point of not going to see the movie, is to not give them any more money. I'll eventually see it...but I refuse to pay for it on principal. I will not support the continuation of this iteration. i will shout it down every chance I get. If you liked it, that's great and all, but this is not a TMNT movie in my opinion. I don't think I should go to the theater just so I can speak to specifics. It won't change anything for me, and in doing so, i'm telling them, please, make MORE. It goes against everything i've said.

As I mentioned in another thread, a friend went last night. She recounted everything. It's actually worse than I'd thought.

I did as you said I should, with both MOS and TDKR. I was opposed to both films, but I figured, maybe i'm wrong? Maybe I'm just not giving it a chance.

MOS made me so incredibly angry I wanted to beat the **** out of Snyder. I paid to be insulted.
"evolution always wins" says the villain.
What in the hell does that mean? Evolution is a process, not a bloody casino. Evolution doesn't win anything, any more than brewing a coffee "wins".
The Christian iconography was brow beating, and Amy Adams is no Lois Lane.
Worst of all, baby Kal-el absorbed a skull of alien DNA. Those are just a tiny handful of what this movie did wrong.

I rated the films we've gotten so far. TMNT 1990 is the best of them, BUT it's about 50% of what a live action TMNTcould be.
SOTO isn't great, I know that, I have eyes...lol.
TMNT3 is garbage I couldn't watch it all in one sitting. it's really bad, and the animatronics are bad.

But if you really wanted to compare the quality of the films, you can't judge effects separated by decades. That's rather unfair. All you can do is judge how the tools were used, and to what effect.

Let's try and keep the discussion civil. I think we can do that.

They're both badly-written and badly-directed movies. Both of their plots are stupid and often illogical, not even holding up within their own "worlds". They're kind of equally bad in very different ways. But the overall cheapness of TMNT3 gives it that kinda "so bad it's hilarious" quality that the new movie doesn't have. I'm more forgiving of movies that are bad on a relatively low budget than ones that are bad on a high one. There's much more of a cheese factor that's pretty entertaining itself. TMNT3 movie is a movie you can watch and laugh at. IMO, that gives it a lot more re-watch value than the new one, which is just... kinda dull and obnoxious, but in a way I can't find entertaining.

The thing is, it's kind of unfair to compare the 2014 film to the third TMNT movie. What it really should be compared to is the first TMNT movie from 1990. And while I haven't seen the newest film, I'm willing to bet (based on what I've seen in the commercials and previews, as well as from having seen the first three Transformers films) that it's no where near as enjoyable as the first movie was.

Henson's company didn't do the suits in 2 or 3.
those were the days when sequels had smaller budgets than the original.
They talk about it in the Turtles doc a bit. "Let's do it all again, but for less, because we'll make a lot less money on the sequel."

They really went over a steep cliff really fast with 2 and 3. I mean, the first one was cheap, but the others were cheeeeeap.

I mean, not like "Superman IV" cheap, but they'd have to be trying to fail to go that far down.

There were several instances. I might get fuzzy with my memory, but Mikey used his chucks against Shredder, and used them to deflect the daggers being flung at them. Raph as well, had tried to use his sais in the his solo fight with Shredder, and used them to block flying blades and poisoned darts. Donny and Leo used their weapons the most. But it's hard to see, because of the shaky cam and the quick edits.

I am still surprised, after the huge hit Jurassic Park was, with the CGI being used for the dinosaurs, and the TMNT being backed by Newline, that they didn't jump on that bandwagon to use TMNT live action with CGI all the way back then. It would have been around 94.

Leo656
08-10-2014, 05:34 PM
That would'a looked horrible, though. They weren't gonna spend Jurassic Park money on a TMNT movie back then. If anything, it would've looked like some Hercules/Xena sh*t. Just that truly awful early-90s TV CGI, but in a movie. That never would've looked any good. They weren't there yet.

Regardless, after reading that you hated MOS and TDKR, I'm convinced you don't like anything. I loved MOS, and saw it more times in the theater than any movie ever(this will be broken with TMNT). TDKR is fantastic, and that's coming from someone who's favorite Batman series is Knightfall. But this is all taste in movies, I just have a better understanding of what you hate. Alright, come on. Taste is taste, fine, but come on now. "Dark Knight Rises" was in noooooo way "fantastic". And my original post about it is floating around here somewhere. Suffice to say, I was in love with it at first, but it's completely full of things wrong with it that start to just scream at you over time and repeat viewings. A LOT wrong with it. Not even "opinions"-style "wrong", just things that were completely done poorly. It's "pretty good" at best, but it's not even the best movie in its own trilogy; in fact, it's the worst by a pretty wide margin, all for reasons - editing, pacing, dialogue, some of the acting, and plot holes - that have nothing to do with "opinions", and everything to do with, "they rushed the movie out to meet a deadline." I like it, quite a bit, but "fantastic"? Noooooo F'n waaaaaaaay, man.

I liked "Man of Steel" but there's a ton of stuff they screwed up in that one, too - mostly dialogue, but some other stuff was also "off". Particularly, the whole "Superman Saves The World By Destroying Two Cities And Straight-Up Murdering A Guy In Public In Broad Daylight" angle they decided to go with. Apparently "Superman V. Batman" is primarily based on how most people in the film's universe don't like or trust Superman. Gee, I f***ing wonder WHY? Again, I liked it, and I like it a little bit more every time I see it (converse to DKR, which I actually like less each time I see it), but people have rightly been able to list a novel's worth of things wrong with it.

I can see people liking those movies, but I can't see anyone loving either one of them. They're seriously, majorly flawed. ((Shrug))

The sad thing about Man of Steel is...to be honest, Superman did more damage to a city than Godzilla did in the new movie

Plus Kevin Costner telling Clark to 'talk to the Hand' while he gets whisked away from a tornado (I guess to go to Oz or wherever for Field of Dreams 2).

And Dark Knight Rises? Woof. From the whole 'I punch your back, you rest, you fine now', to Batman getting his ass kicked by Bane and he didn't even get to beat Bane...Catwoman had to do it, to Bruce Wayne somehow teleporting into Gotham which was locked up, to all of those cops that I guess was staying underground trapped for what was it...weeks? months? And it's a Batman movie with barely any Batman...

And it's a Batman movie with barely any Batman...

Costner did a very good job in playing a very poorly-written and unlikable character, for sure. "Yeah, f*ck those kids in that bus. F*ck everybody, now that I think of it. I'm gonna go die in this tornado. You could totally move so fast that you could rescue me without anyone seeing you at all... especially with all this wind and debris and such going on, I guess nobody could even really see you clearly anyway... but nah, I'm just gonna go die. Have fun knowing your last words to me were those of a snotty punk. No, I'm not your 'real Dad', punk, and now, I'm f*cking dead. Peace." That... was... awful. He did a good job doing it, though... the way it was written was just horrible.

And all that DKR stuff is spot-on, and only the beginning. How about the constant night/day/night/day during the chase scene at the stock exchange? How did absolutely nobody catch that? Even in the theater, I was having a good time, but that was an immediate "WTF?" moment for me.

Not picking a fight, I just think it's lame to be SO certain of something you haven't even seen.
No, it's really about standing by my convictions. I just can't give my money to them. I of course understand that in a way, it's unfair to judge a movie this way, but from the spoilers I've read, and everything I've heard, I know It's just not for me.

But this is all taste in movies, I just have a better understanding of what you hate. I'm guessing you loved Watchmen, Sin City, and 300 because they're just taking page and putting it to screen? Basically you want a moving comic.

Not true. I did think Watchmen was good, at the time, but would need to revisit it to see if it still stands up. I hated 300, simply because that look is just too much -half of the reason I disliked MOS. Sincity was novel in it's approach, but tried too hard to be a moving comic.

The truth is, I haven't seen a good film in a very long time. I have hopes for "Birdman" later this year, and I enjoyed aspects of TASM 1&2.
I look at movies slightly differntly than some, because I happen to work in the industry. My standards are not higher, just different. I see things in effects and writing and editing that many people don't pick up on, only because of what I do. An example might be 300 - the bleach-bypass look is a standard plug in in after effects. That's lazy. Everything looks like a small set. Nothing feels real. I just don't care for it.
In Expendables, the blood you see when someone is shot is available from a site called video co-pilot. it's a 100$ bundle of random blood.
I guess when you know how it's done, you start to see the shortcuts, and you know when they're spending the time to try and impress, or when they're going through the motions.
As for TDKR, the massive plot holes and bad science throughout took me right out of the movie. If you watch it carefully, you'll see that goyer doesn't pay off the set up in this, or any of his other films. It's a trick Nolan uses over and over again to give you the sense of surprise, when infact, the twists have zero rationale behind them.

I look for a movie to impress me on every level, because I care that the industry is taking risks from all sides, so that it can continue to grow, and be better, delivering new spectacle that wasn't imaginable up until that point.

Tree of Life was a film I though was impressive. Holy Motors is another.
And yes, the point is, I really wanted that in the TMNT movie. I wanted to be taken back to that 9 year old sense of "wow".

I rank TMNT 3 above 2014 because 2014 isn't trying to do anything. It's a misshapen jigsaw puzzle, and there's no excuse for it.

As bad as it was TMNT3 tried to tell a story. It failed, but it tried.

For my money, Turtles 3 is harmless. Sure it's cheesy, but it's not offensively bad. It's like a comfy pair of trackpants covered in cotton pills and with a hole worn into the crotch - you should've thrown them out years ago but you just can't bring yourself to.

Seriously though, I like Turtles 3. It has its flaws, but it's good 90's fun, and it doesn't increase my blood pressure... like some movies. :shifty:

I also really didn't want to get off on too much of a rant about MOS or TDKR, cause it's taking the tread way off topic, and enough people have rightly pointed out how much is really wrong with those two films.

I just think TMNT 2014 got off on the wrong foot period. They set out to make money, not a movie. Their priorities are wrong, and I refuse to reward them for that.

Yea lol. I could not stand TMNT 3 for 5 minutes.. That opening scene is just awful.. and it only gets worse from there.

Kind of like these polls. It's truly amusing to see negative poll after negative poll. But they just back fire every time

I definitely think TMNT 3 is the worst out of all of them.

I havent seen the new movie yet, so I can not vote. However, I much prefer TMNT 3 to TMNT 2, so it should have had TMNT 2 as an option, as that is where the low bar is for me.

TMNT III had a budget of 21 million, which was way more than the first turtles movie and almost the same as the second one, I don't think it's fair to blame the budget as to why it was such a big piece of ****

Tmnt 2014 > Tmnt 3.

Both are really flawed, but the 2014 film was far better to look at visually. (Not really so much the turtles and Splinter, but the action, CG, and fighting scenes ) The plot in the '14 film is extremely poor and has a lot of issues, BUT to be fair, it was partly so bad because it was chopped and changed constantly. It was like a Frankenstein's monster. Tmnt 3 didn't have that excuse, it was just an overly complicated plot that was executed poorly, horrible visuals and very corny with painful jokes and one liners that could make the OT blush.

I think this opinion of mine is also based on the fact that TMNT 3 had a WORLD of opportunity to do something amazing and there was so much hype and expectation from the first two films and it fell flat and they went in a totally different direction than what people thought and wanted. The blow was hard. We wanted OT villains on the Big screen, more mutants, and some kind of connection to the other films, not Japan and an ancient war and time travel with no mutants or any other cartoon villains.

TMNT'14 went in the general direction of what people thought and wanted (Turtles vs Shredder), and the expectation was very low. Since it wasn't as horrible as so many people thought, what with the alien turtles and such, that it came out better than a lot expected.

So again TMNT '14 > TMNT 3 as far as the emotional investment pay off and as a film in general.

This is just my opinion tho.

No, it's really about standing by my convictions. I just can't give my money to them. I of course understand that in a way, it's unfair to judge a movie this way, but from the spoilers I've read, and everything I've heard, I know It's just not for me.

Well I don't care if you "work in the industry" the fact that you basically do not like any movie you see is incredibly sad to me. I am so glad I do not go into movies picking a part every little thing, I just sit back, relax and if it entertains me, then it's a good movie to me. This is why I hate critics, and do not listen or care for what they have to say. When you watch a movie, and it makes you laugh, and tear up, and that dropping in on a rollercoaster feeling, that's how I judge movies. That's the way I think everyone should. I don't know you at all, but all I read are negative posts, and I can't help think you might just be a negative person. Of course I don't know you at all and could be completely wrong.

It's kind of mind boggling too that you find the need to rail on this movie you hate. I hate plenty of movies, but I just don't waste my energy on them. If I was like you, I'd be on some Thor message board somewhere railing against those movies. I'd rather talk about things I like.

Presumably he doesn't have those feelings when he watches movies with the elements he mentioned because they make for dull, derivative experiences. He even gave examples of movies he does enjoy: ones that try a bit harder and do something bold.

It's really frustrating seeing all these, "F*ck the critics, just have fun!" posts because they basically amount to "Lower your standards!". For some people, poorly written or directed movies (really, this goes for any fiction) aren't fun because their flaws are more frustrating than their enjoyable elements, whatever those may be. It's okay to not want to reward that, especially when it comes to a property I think we all agree can be better -- can maybe be great.

While I thought the movie was pretty fun, that still doesn't excuse the terribly written plot. I don't want this franchise to end up like the transformer movies. All I want is a good turtles movie with a great story, but were obviously not going to get that if we mindlessly support the flaws that this one had.

Not only that... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_II:_The_Secret_of_the _Ooze#Production)

The building used for the entrance to April's apartment is the office of the New York location of Jim Henson's Creature Shop, which did the animatronics work for the film as well as its predecessor. The film is dedicated to the memory of Jim Henson.

Cool bit of trivia there.

The SotO suits seemed a bit more expressive, too. Looked a bit more "cartoony", but I thought they were great.

At least 3's plot is kind of cohesive.

Turtles 3 plot is not bad. The only problem is that it resolves it's conflict in the middle of the movie and has to find new reasons for to justify going on longer by getting the Turtles involved is something they have no stakes in.

The reboot's story is simple. Extremely simple, but it has a clear beginning, middle, end. It lays out the stakes and what each character has to gain or lose, and doesn't lose focus. Not saying it did it all well, but it did it competently.

Top is the best, bottom is the worst.

To be real, all the Turtles movies are pretty bad, mediocre at best in terms of story. But among themselves, the 2014 does the best and cleanest job at simple storytelling.

The original movie has too many clunky and unnecessary story elements and the Turtles themselves do little to move the plot forward. The 3rd movie I already explained. The 2nd movie has basically no story, or at least one of any worth. TMNT tells five different stories and bungles all of them.

i watched the new flick twice this weekend and on friday night, after having first seen it on thursday, i mentioned to my gf that a lot of people were saying this new one is worse than part 3.

she had never seen it and only new that a couple of my friends and i would occasionally try and rewatch it along with next mutation.

i put it on for her and was actually surprised that it was a lot better than i had remembered. id really only tried to watch it a couple times over the past 5 years and hadn't seen it all the way through since before then.

all in all, it was...ok.

but the story was weak and the production values were so low.

the new flick, however, has a very weak story, but at least its "badness" isnt compounded by crappy production values, therefore for me, 2014 edges part 3 out.

I really wish people would get my point. I just don't need to see it. I've seen enough movies to be able to look at a trailer an know what it's going to be.

sure, you're allowed to do whatever you want.

see the movie, don't see the movie.

that's, of course, up to you.

but to actively not see it, then again and again make statements about the quality of it, just makes anything you say equate to background static.

your "opinion" is based on second-hand accounts and word of mouth. sure, you can claim that you're so insightful that just by watching tv spots you're sure you won't like it. but the fact remains that you havent seen it.

that, in and of itself isn't bad. what makes it so utterly confounding is that, though you say you wont like it and though you havent seen it, you're really railing against it. long post after long post going on about what you think about what others think about this movie.

like, can you not see how thats just kinda...dumb?

you seem like a normal, intelligent person. forget that this is a movie or that you work in the indutry or that this is something youre a really big fan of.

bottom line is, you are making statements and observations as well as forming opinions and spreading said opinions about something YOU HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED.

would YOU take someone like this seriously?

3's the only one of the original trilogy without the henson suits.

Your opinion is worthless until you watch the new movie, and the fact you accept critic's opinions instead of creating your own is ridiculous. The new movie isn't perfect but I don't recall any movie in general being perfect, so before you shoot more crap out your mouth, please do us all a favor and purchase a 7.00 movie ticket. Watch TMNT!! Furthermore, we are all lucky that TMNT hit the big screen again, so how about showing support instead of creating unecasary drama . Those who continue to ignore the new movie is missing out.

TMNT 3 is the worst turtle movie.

I never researched it, but it felt like an entirely different crew made that movie. The humor was different/bad, the turtles looked diseased, Splinter obviously didn't have a bottom half, and the time travel plot was boring. I only enjoyed a couple parts with Casey Jones.

My ranking would be-

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

TMNT

Ninja Turtles 2014

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3

I didn't see Turtles Forever yet

Why should he pay to see a movie that he doesn't like the look of? At this stage, I don't think the movie's really in any need of additional support - it's already made plenty of money.

Nope. I will not. I also don't eat at Mc Donald's or drive on the wrong side of the road. In fact I don't even drive, because fossil fuels are killing us, and everything around us. I know what's a good idea, and what isn't, and I stick to my principles.

I will however pay to see Bay's Doc about the horrors of Elephant Poaching. I'll see it a few times actually, because it's something that needs to stop, and putting an end to animal cruelty is something I care about. I'd even be willing to buy you a ticket to that, and I don't know you at all.
I'll also support Stan Sakai, because he gave us Usagi Yojimbo, and he needs the help.
Dollars are votes to corporations, because the bottom line is all they understand.

I've said all I need to on this matter, but thanks for sharing.

What are opinions the equivalent of our penises or something? An opinion isn't worthless because the person hasn't seen the movie. It might not hold as much weight as people who have, but it's not worthless. It's not like they are reviewing the movie based on hearsay, they are choosing to not support it based on hearsay.

Also, in this day and age with forums full of visual spoilers, spoiler reviews, wikipedia, and so on, there are tons of ways to get the basic story/plot and over all jist of any movie without actually needing to see it. Of course you miss out on the experience, but it's enough to form an opinion. I did this with DBZ evolution. I decided based on what people told me, wiki, forums, discussions, spoiler reviews (good and bad), that the movie was not for me, not a good movie and not true to DBZ. When I eventually did see it on video, I was right. I hated it and by seeing it, I only missed out on a few good action scenes and the over all experience of seeing it that still didn't save the movie.

But, it's not your place to tell someone their opinion is worthless and to stop expressing it because you don't agree with how they are forming their opinion and calling it drama.

If you want to support it so much, do us a favor and go buy another ticket and watch it again and again to make up for the people who aren't showing their support with their money instead of telling someone else to throw their money down just to be considered a valid voice on the subject.

Commenter 42 has given very good and reasonable reasons, he/she is not just spatting trollish hatred about the movie from ignorance.

Now, I personally, PERSONALLY agree that seeing it helps, and sometimes it's something that needs to be experienced first hand instead of just researching it. I also agree that it's wonderful that TMNT is not only back on the screen after 7 years, but it's holding it's own enough to get a sequel. (Because I do want the franchise to live) But, I'm not down with calling someone's opinions worthless unless they see it.

Think about it, what the hell is the point of going to see a movie, then review it if the people who read or watch your opinion are considered to have a worthless one if they listened to yours? You could review it and say ''In my opinion I don't recommend this movie, it's horrible!'' and someone thinks ''I value this opinion and trust them; their opinions are usually similar to mine, I'm not going to see it.''

Doesn't it make reviews silly if everyone just had to go see the movie anyway? I mean, I don't know about you...but when I watch a review, it's usually to see if it's worth my time and money or if I want to give it a chance. That's the point.

Love or hate the movie but if you haven't seen it you shouldn't be discussing it as if you have a real opinion. It's a really simple concept; see the movie before you put in your 2 cents

I haven't seen the movie Gravity, it would be retarded for me to argue about it. I have never had frog legs so it would be retarded for me to say they don't taste good

No one had seen it, but opinions were already being formed based on other sources.

You could research it and argue or discuss it just fine, so long as you have the basic concept of the plot down. Like I said, your argument or opinion might not hold as much weight as someone who has, but it doesn't make it worthless and doesn't mean you have no right to have the discussion.

I bet if this person had lied and said they had seen the movie and pointed out the exact same opinion or argument about it, you wouldn't even know.

I watched the trailer for gravity, in a packed theater, and the moment Sandra and George appeared on screen, my girl and I burst out laughing honestly thinking it was a spoof.
It looked absolutely awful to me. Everyone said, go see it, it's amazing.
Finally saw it two weeks ago on HBO. Terrible, boring, inaccurate, and generally fake looking CG. Critics praised the helck out of it. I knew I would hate it.

I just watched the "discipline scene" from TMNT on YouTube. Did you think that was funny, because I didn't. I've seen the snow chase. I've seen the elevator ride, equally un funny. All of it looks like utter, brain dead, trash. Incredibly, those are the sentiments from most people, even if they "loved" it. Is there some big mysterious scene that no ones mentioned so far that I just have to see to believe? A t 100 minutes, there can't be all that much left.

Also, I can tell you that I don't care what a frogs leg tastes like, I won't eat them, because it's a frog's leg, and because it's not the 80's.

At the end of the day, it's an open forum - if people who haven't seen the movie want to discuss it, that's their prerogative.

What I don't understand is why it means anything to you if someone doesn't like it, whether or not they've seen it. At this stage, people have seen enough of the promo material to determine whether it's their thing or not. Everybody has the right to an opinion, and to express that opinion civilly. You are free to dismiss those opinions as worthless, but it's not going to achieve a damn thing.

I haven't seen the movie Irreversible. Why? Because I can't deal with movies that have rape scenes. Am I still going to talk about it if it comes up in conversation? Absolutely.

I have never watched A Serbian Film. Because I know I won't enjoy it, due to the subject matter. That doesn't mean that I'm not allowed to have an opinion on it. It doesn't mean that I can't bring up those films in a discussion about filmmaking, or censorship, or sexual violence.

Seriously - how does it affect you personally if someone doesn't like the same movie that you do? Answer - it doesn't. It doesn't change a damn thing in your day-to-day life.

This is all ego and grandstanding. It's not something deep and meaningful we're discussing. It's a movie. A popcorn movie at that - hardly high art. Just because you haven't seen something, doesn't mean you can't have an opinion on it, or discuss it.

You can post all you want, not saying you can't. I'm just saying, your opinion has no credibility with me.

I'm also not saying you should go see the movie. I avoid movies I think look like crap all the time. If you think you won't like it, then skip it.

The snow chase you saw online is HEAVILY edited from the one that's in the actual movie. You would know that, if you saw the movie.

I really don't think a 7.00 movie ticket is going to make or break a TMNT fan, but if you wish not to support the first movie in 7 years that's your choice. The action, humor, graphics, and turtle bonding was great in this film.

Turtles 2 was cheesy but it had moments that were cool. Having Shredder seems to be a must for me. Turtles 3 and TMNT 2007 didn't have shredder and they were the worst in my opinion. TMNT 2007 had great promise but the story about immortality and opening a portal and the 12 monsters really turned me off. Almost as much as the Lord Norinaga story of Turtles 3. I also didn't like the Animation style of TMNT. Turtles were too skinny, not like the awesome looking behemoths in the new movie.

Well that is not fair imo. You can make a good TMNT turtle movie with out Shredder, You do need a good replacement for him though.

TMNT 3 had a lack of a good villain because well, the Shredder died in TMNT2. Did Walker and Lord Norinaga do a good job of replacing the Shredder? Or being as cool? No, than again it is hard to replace such a icon like the Shredder. But even than, I did enjoy the time travel 3rd movie. Walker was as cold and evil as ever, and Lord Norinaga was pretty much trying to settle a war, I never thought he was evil, just caught in a Romeo and Juliet story line with his son and rebel leader that got solve with there union.

I do think the 3rd movie was better than the 2014 movie. The flaws of the turtles origin was too much to over come. Were in the 3rd movie, we knew there backgrounds from the first 2 movies, no need in going over that, and pretty much had to save April from middle ages Japan. I never really understood the hate it got.

Its more than that, Its called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and in the 3rd film, we got plenty of that. The 2014 movie should have been renamed April and Vern.

The plot holes were big, And I understand the culture of Splinter and the Turtles from the 3 movies, Because well Splinter did come from Japan, so they had that going for him,

Here in the 2014 movie, American Rat Splinter reads a book and all of a study he is Asian? That was a hard pill to swallow.
