Is April in every episode of TMNT(Cartoon)?

So far all the ones ive re-seen since I was younger have her in it, I was just curious.

Well, I honestly don't know...but she sure seems to be! She's just perpetually being kidnapped too! That reminds me, I always wondered why she didn't get ripped to shreds every time Shredder threw her over his shoulder? He does have bladed shoulder pads!

Actually, in the last couple seasons she wore a nicer, and less eye-straining, brown/green outfit that looked a whole lot better!

As for April in every episode... I honestly don't know. Someone would have to check to summeries on ninjaturtles.com to be sure.

Oh yes... it bothered me too, that lovely, yellow (often times rather revealing) jumpsuit. I so liked what she owre int he later seasons, as well as in the first movie. More..normal!

But get this for an eye opener, she was not ever a TV news reporter oncein the Mirage comics. She was a PC lab technician for the real Baxter Stockman, the African American scientist responsible for the mousers! If she wore a jumpsuit in that environment, then I can understand why. ;)

Okay, here's my discovery. Looking through the episode guide didn't take all that long, I only needed to scan the cast listing. April was not in, or at least is not listed in the credits of:
Napoleon Bonafrog: Colossus of the Swamps
The Legend of Koji
Atlantis Awakes
Turtle Trek

The following episodes may or may not have had her in it. They had no cast listing nor was she mentioned in the summary, but the summaries were very short.
Rondo In New York
Elementary, My Dear Turtles

So she's not in four, maybe six, out of what, 193 episodes? So she's not in ALL of them.

I'm still trying to hunt down a picture of April in her later episodes outfit. And remember, she didn't wear the jumpsuit all the time, she had a few other outfits. I remember a nice purple dress from the episode where her apartment got robbed, among others. They just can't afford to design a new outfit for every episode.

i never got to see tmnt cartoons after 1994 or 1995, (according to the tv channel they their popularity "was going down", they had to make way for the power ranger, which weren't as cool as the ninja turtles) :(.........

I have no idea why they got rid of Shredder and Krang. Probably because they were taking the show in a new direction and changed a lot. Maybe they thought Shredder and Krang were "washed up". :roll:

As to who were the villains, it was mostly an alien named Dregg who tried to take over the planet by pretending to be Earth's "savior" or something like that. Krang and Shredder did appear in a three-parter with him, but only as supporting cast. Those last seasons had a darker feel to them, and I liked the animation, but the new villains and plots left a lot to be desired.

They got rid of Shredder and Krang most likely because they had been in so many episodes it was hard to think of a new things to do with them. They did reappear in season 10 in The Beginning of the End, A turtle in time and Turtles to the Second Power. It seemed that Dregg wanted to use them to help him defeat the turtles. He wanted to steal their powers along with the tmnt's to make him unstoppable. As for April being in every ep... she was in every ep except Atlantis awakes and The Legend of Koji I believe.

Okay. I wasn't sure about Rondo in New York. The Official Site summary for that is tiny, and they don't have a cast list. Same for Elementary, My Dear Turtle. All the others who had summaries like that were either ones I have/remembered or had April in the summary.

Actually, it didn't take long, no more than ten minutes, and I was bouncing between boards on another window. It's not like I read all the episode summeries, just scanned the cast listing. I spend two, maybe three seconds on a page, unless the cast listing wasn't there, then I read the summary, which usually wasn't longer than a paragraph in those cases.

Besides, it was REALLY bugging me!

Yellow is a nice color. But I don't think it worked well for her profession, or her own coloring. At least not in that amount. A yellow shirt or jacket with something darker would have worked better.

*sai* .. but aaaaall cartoons are like that. In Gargoyles, Eliza wore the same jeans, t shirt and jacket, in Pokemon/Digimon, the kids always wore the same cloths... even in those Disney flicks, Charlie Brown and Scooby Doo!

All the more reason for animators to think twice what outfits they pick for there characters. :wink: Yellow... *shudder* Gets as bad as pink, after awhile!

Two copies of April appear in this episode: the real April and an "alternate" British April from the alternate universe where Emperor Moriarty rules. Renae Jacobs does a pretty good job emulating a British accent, except for one line where she goofs and says "it's okay guys, they're friends!" to the alternate Burne and Vernon.

Anyway, that was probably more than you wanted to know.

And April has worn things other than the yellow jumpsuit ("I thought those tacky jumpsuits went out of style eons ago") and the leather jacket and suede pants from later seasons (which I thought was pug-ugly). The dark blue jumpsuit from the original comics and the CGI trailer might be nice to see in the new cartoon.

Its a simple trick animators use. Almost all cartoons have a "default outfit" which means people when dealing with multiple episodes dont have to try to draw new things for each one and get them mixed. It also saves them the ability to cross-reference stuff.

I mean heck, unless situation calls, even Slayers and most anime/cartoon people wear the same outfit. O_o

Mab has a purple evening gown.
Cheets has a red tanktop, whistle necklace, and large jeans.
Mikelo has a leg/arm wrap ensamble which makes him very TMNT despite me trying not to. (You try putting jeans and shirts on someone who not only has a large tail and shell, but wings to boot. X_x)
Levicel and Murtagoy wear...er...nothing. O_o
Actually...the only character who I dont have a default outfit is Boko cause I sorta have her wear wierd and random outfits that defy tacky standards. ^_^'''
