Cool, nice to see some new news.

It's under his Filmography on IMDB.

Is he any good.

Yeah, He's done scores for the Transformers movies, Ender's Game, and Lone Survivor.

Steve Jablonsky is AMAZING. Not quite as good as Hans Zimmer, but he studied under him and worked with him.

Jablonsky is a FAR better choice than Brian Tyler.

Chalk this up to another executive decision that makes me feel a LITTLE better and LITTLE more optimistic about the sequel...

I've somehow managed to steer away from anything Jablonsky. But I'm certain that he's waaaay better than Brian Tyler. Actually, there are plenty of composers better than Brian Tyler. He's just really boring....

OH MY GOD.
THANK YOU.
This movie actually has something good going for it now. The only true good thing about the Transformers movies besides the CGI is the music. Jablonsky is going to create a great score: it's just what he does. At least he won't recycle a bunch of his old themes... *Cough Cough Tyler.*

If he can do something like what the 2012 series did, which he probably could, then the score will be fantastic.
Honestly, his Dark of the Moon score was pretty amazing. "It's Our Fight" is one of my favorite movie soundtracks ever.

Dark of the Moon was so boring, I actually can't remeber any musical scores from it. Granted I only saw the movie once.

Maybe I should check out some off Steve's work.

Did he do that bitching track during the Scorponok attack in the first Transformers? Because that was great.

He's good with themes, Check out the Autobots theme from the 1st Transformers film. That way you can get a sense of what his music is like.

That's kind of a huge wish, the man's like 80 years old and has much more important projects to work on right now, like a whole new Star Wars movie.

Jablonsky is fine for this film I think, especially after Tyler's lackluster effort for the first installment.

Hes a good composer, he can make good themes for movies, and even incorporate melodies from some music into the score too.

For example, one of the themes from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen contains the melody from Linkin Park's New Divide

I would love for him to add the melody from the classic TMNT theme into the score.

The main "theme" of the first movie didn't have a mutant-y, ninja-y, or something that has a TMNT feel to it. It just felt so... generic... I hope this new composer could make something memorable or at least something that fits the subject.

I hope the score has more of a Japanese influence this time around.

This multiplied by one thousand.

That's cause Brian Tyler made a score that more of an adventure score.

Hopefully with Steve Jablonsky, He can create different themes for the Turtles, Splinter, Shredder, Karai, the Foot Clan, and Bebop & Rocksteady.

Was kind of wondering. Hearing the samples of this guy's work I'm sort of hoping he'll have a hand in music for a new song that does the Turtles more justice than Shell Shocked bothered to attempt. (A new music genre would also be entirely ok by me... doesn't have to be rap after all.)

Considering that they used the Reptile track from Skrillex in the 2nd trailer for the first film.

I hope they continue the trend by using another dubstep track, maybe for the teaser trailer?

But here's an interesting thing, Skrillex actually worked on some of the sound designs in Transformers: Age of Extinction.

the Reptile track
Why do I have a feeling that played a large part in the choice. In the same vein as the film using Happy Together by The Turtles. (To think someone very possibly got paid to gather list of song/music choices that might be "roughly turtle or reptile related"... I hope the creativity goes a little deeper this time.)

But here's an interesting thing, Skrillex actually worked on some of the sound designs in Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Possible that it might be inevitable at some point then? Given these film makers' clear leanings on sometimes/often hiring from existing connections.

I had no idea The Turtles did that song. Groan.

But I DID love the Skrillex song for the trailer. Wouldn't mind another Skrillex song for the sequel trailer.

Although... the Sherlock Holmes trailers both used the same E.G. Posthumous music for bothy movies. I thought it was a little repetitive, but I could see Platinum Dunes reusing "Reptile" again.

I loved what Jablonsky did with the first Transformers film, especially the cue where the autobots drop in from the sky and the introduction to the marines at the start of the film, but wasn't terribly fond of his work on the sequels, except for the aforementioned Linkin Park cue.

For me, Tyler's score was the one of the few redeeming things about the last film.

I have to disagree with you on SOOO MANY levels.

Jablonsky was supposed to originally score the first film, but Tyler and Liesbmen had a relationship beforehand. This is the only good news I've heard about for this whole project since 09'. Good to see a majority of us agree on Jablonsky.

Jablonsky is such a better pick. He should've done the first flick.

Agreed about Tyler. My thoughts exactly. Only decent parts he did was the scene of young April (with the soft piano) and Sachs' charity speech (same music after April gets fired and gets in the van with Vern). *Seriously check out those 3 scenes for the music everyone*

Everything else was so generic and cheesy. The music was everything I hoped it wouldn't be for a film score.

I enjoy Brian Tyler as a composer, particularly his work on Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, and multiple entries of the Fast & Furious franchise. His TMNT score wasn't one of his bests, but I loved his main theme and the unedited versions of Shortcut and Adrenaline were very exciting action scores.

Either way, I miss the era where film music was actually allowed to *be* music, particularly with superhero films. For example, Zimmer's work on Batman and Man of Steel, while serviceable, has nothing on what Elfman and Williams' had already done with this characters, much less his own amazing work throughout the 90s (The Lion King, Rain Man, True Romance, Backdraft, Crimson Tide

To be fair RT is a sack of Crap Site thats really not fair or balanced reviews at all.

I mean, while nothing's perfect, RT is an aggregator that reports a consensus. In most cases, they don't make a personal judgment beyond what the data gives them, aside from reviews that don't have a score or a clear recommendation and need to be assigned a "fresh" or "rotten" score based on the content of the review. Ultimately hundreds to thousands of reviews and ratings are just that many individual opinions, but I think you can get a decent idea of its reception from them. It holds a lot more water than one guy on the Internet with a clear bias, anyway.

Besides, just compare Earth to Echo's scores at RT and elsewhere. RT gives it a score of 48% (and an average rating of 54%) from 101 critic reviews, and a user score of 47% (average rating of 64%) from 33,703 viewers. IMDB users give it a score of 58%. Metacritic gives it a score of 53% and a user rating of 46%. That's actually a fairly similar consensus across the board, considering audiences can be a bit more forgiving than critics -- and it says that most critics and viewers who rated it found the movie to be mediocre at best.

You liked it, most others didn't. Most people tell me that they don't like the Chris Columbus Harry Potter films, but they're my favorites.

Just because you're in the minority doesn't mean you should feel entitled to say that what the majority says is completely wrong.

Rotten Tomatoes is a fine site, and Earth to Echo was, in my eyes, a bad movie. If you like it that's cool, just don't try to argue that all these "bad" movies are really "good" movies in disguise.

Eh, not true.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is going to be a good movie, but I DO think it's going to be better than what we got. Green's a newbie, which means he has the potential to improve. Liebesman, on the other hand, had at least 8 movies under his belt, none of which were good, before directing TMNT.

This movie WILL be better than TMNT 1. It won't be good, but it'll be better. From what we've seen so far, it seems like they're reversing some of the butchering they did in the first movie. Also, the script is finalized, which means there won't be choppy re-shoots. These writers wrote Mission Impossible 4, which means they have the potential to write something good.

The three MAJOR things we have to worry about are 1. The script itself, as the writers didn't do a good job last time, 2. Megan Fox, no explanation needed, and 3. LESS focus on the Turtles than in the first movie.

I don't know, I like it when new upcoming directors take on big properties, Especially when they were never familiar with it before, often times, the movie turns out good.

Remember when Bryan Singers was choosen to direct the 1st X-Men movie? a lot of people though he couldn't do it, but the movie turned out really well.
