After seeing that episode again, all I have to say is: that has got to be the most ridiculous episode ever, but yet, very comical at the same time. The sheer absurdity of it all can actually make you laugh. Notable moments in this episode include: The two robots dancing with Shredder after Donatello reprograms them, Shredder and Rocksteady and Bebop falling off Channel 6 rooftop and walking away from it and Shredder talking into the camera to explain to the viewers what the mesmorizer does. Personally, I really like those moments in TMNT when the writers acknowledge that it's just a cartoon and make a character joke about it.

YES, I couldn't agree with you more. This was, for me, one of the most charming things about the original cartoon. I loved how it never took itself too seriously. It could poke fun at itself, and that is the sign of good-natured people at the helm.

This humor is something that was seriously lacking in the last few seasons. The writers took something out of the show that made it great. And when that happened, the stories suffered as a result.

Stories suffered? First time in a long while there was really a story, not the same formula used again and again like in the previous seasons. For me it was definetly a change for the better.

When I say the stories suffered, I meant they were too serious. The original cartoon was always able to balance humor with seriousness; but in the last three seasons, there was little to no humor.

Although the stories were decent, they lacked half of what made the original cartoon a success. Even Michaelangelo lost his zest when the writers took away his personality.

True, there wasn't much humor, but thats part of why I like it better. But I do think that if they wanted to make a serious TMNT, they should have started from the begining, not convert the comedy to action show.

It's such ashame they couldn't have stuck with the way the show was in the late '80s. I was watching my "Shredder & Splintered" video last night and thought to myself, that's what the entire series should've been like!

I also enjoyed it though when the characters themselves acknowledged the fact that they weren't real.

Someone needs to start reading more carefully. No one was fighting, thats called discussing.

It's such ashame they couldn't have stuck with the way the show was in the late '80s. I was watching my "Shredder & Splintered" video last night and thought to myself, that's what the entire series should've been like!

Those were great. I actually got the VHS of the show recently and watched it again. The part with the robots dancing made me and my dad both laugh, even when I am 20. Not all shows can do that.

Exactly.

While the animation was off the wall (there seemed to be, at times, different animators working on this episode), I still got a huge kick out of it.

I still laugh when Shredder goes to use the elevator, and then he apologizes for squeezing in to make room for himself. Somehow, I just can't see Mr. Ruthless, Mr. Future Ruler of the World, being so apologetic.

I also can't help but smile while Shredder chews out Bebop and Rocksteady in this episode. The part where he addresses them as "you two stupid mutants" is funny, if only because the sight of Bebop and Rocksteady clutching each other for everything they're worth at that moment is humorous.

I agree with that too. That moment alone is priceless. I think the absurdity and the unexpectedness of it all just gets you.
