Thank You. With that out of the way:

-Donatello is my favorite turtle because I like purple and green, I'm a technology guru, and I like sticks.

-The 87 series is my favorite because I absolutely loved it as a kid, and I really wanted to get back into it during my teenage years despite the 2003 series being the main thing.

-TSOTO is my favorite movie because the turtles fight foot soldiers, Shredder, other mutants, and Super Shredder all in one movie! Plus Donatello really shines in it.

(This part is important to me because I'm a gamer above all else)
-The Manhattan Project is my Favorite Game because I love beat-em-ups, I can beat it on a regular basis, and I can play it everywhere I go. Same with TMNT II, IV, and Tournament Fighters. I also love TMNT I, even though it's not a beat-em-up and I've never beaten it.

-I've only read little of TMNT Adventures, but want to delve into it more and make it my favorite comic as it looks very interesting and also resonates with the 87 series more than the other comics...

I pretty much love everything about TMNT. I can't even think off the top of my head of any TMNT material that I don't appreciate.

Your personal favourite turtle could be Zach, your favourite TV show could be Next Mutation, your favourite movie could be III, your favourite game could be Next Mutation by Tiger Electronics and your favourite comic could be some low effort crap that came a box of cereal. However, it does not mean someone isn't going to argue with you. Nor does it mean there are not legitimate arguments against what you like. And if you can't argue in favour of what you like without resorting to "that's just your opinion and I have mine", or throwing out obviously flawed arguments, then there isn't much point in defending the quality of what you like, is there? As long as I know there is no ACTUAL bashing or hate between the series.
I 100% prefer the 2003 version, but I've seen the 1987 and the 2012 versions too before coming up with this idea.

Obliviously you have to take consideration that this is a discussion forum, and you can't be overly sensitive since everyone has the right to criticise.
I don't think there will ever be someone here who would just come up to you and say: "F#@* you, you stupid 1987 fan" or something like that.

EDIT: Having skimmed the rest of this thread, I once again feel the need to point out that what some people call "bashing" in no way constitutes such. And that certain people who love the FW cartoon are certainly entitled to their opinion but would be well-served not to be so thin-skinned about it.

I mean, if any individual feels entitled to a full-blown meltdown simply because someone points out that a lot of the scripts were recycled from other shows, for one example, then that person has an issue because making an objective statement of fact in service to the larger conversation about the show simply isn't "bashing" anything. Stuff like tone and humor are matters of personal taste and shouldn't really be argued about - discussion and debate should still be acceptable, obviously - but saying things like, "Well, some parts of it, they simply didn't work very hard on"... that's not "bashing", those are facts. And if a person can't separate A from B, then yeah, they're gonna have a bad time.

Certain people take issue with ANY flaws in the FW show being pointed out, and call it "bashing", and that simply isn't true in the slightest. Some people are simply hyper-sensitive. I've never seen anyone here tell anyone that they "aren't allowed" to like stuff like the FW cartoon or whatever. But I'd also say that a person just in general shouldn't be so fanatical that they can't handle it when a person makes a calm and impartial statement of fact. That's how these things are supposed to work.

.....None of that applies to people who like the BayTurtles films from Platinum Dunes, however. :lol: I will forever maintain that anyone who likes those movies is a terrible person and a sleeper agent of Satan, put here on Earth to sow discord in preparation for the coming of the Antichrist. Because there's NO other explanation for having taste that bad!

So a lot of the blame for the Fred Wolf series comes from TMNT as a property being seen as for kids. A lot of users here categorise the 80's series as a comedy rather than an action adventure series with comedy.

Certain users here will try to say they don't trash the series while making bad taste April Fools posts about it "because no one cares about that series" while arguing my complaints aren't justified. Those are the people to watch out for. Normalising hate towards something that objectively is good or you see value in is the worst thing someone on here can do. Your fandom is yours. What makes you a fan of something is specifically what you like. Add what YOU want to your headcanon and ignore the rest. If you like something that no one else likes, so be it. If you hate something that everyone else likes, that's cool too. The Technodrome forums unfortunately have a lot of mean "fans."

If they're just razzing you or actually being a ****bag about something, that's on them. They lack empathy or something. I don't know.

I don't care for a lot of modern TMNT myself and some of it I have never even bothered to investigate so, the bottom line is... just be who you are... like what you like. I hope you don't completely give up on these forums as they're the best place to interact with fellow TMNT fans.

To put it into perspective: A lot fans here blame the 80's series for how TMNT evolved. So a lot of the blame for the Fred Wolf series comes from TMNT as a property being seen as for kids. A lot of users here categorise the 80's series as a comedy rather than an action adventure series with comedy.

Certain users here will try to say they don't trash the series while making bad taste April Fools posts about it "because no one cares about that series" while arguing my complaints aren't justified. Those are the people to watch out for. Normalising hate towards something that objectively is good or you see value in is the worst thing someone on here can do. I don't for a moment believe they believe anything they were or are posting about. It's a performance piece, for sure. Now, I don't necessarily believe it's one of these histrionic types that got mad and left the board because of how "toxic" it is, but it's something.
