View Full Version : What was Krang's dumbest scheme?

Krang always came out with original schemes but what was the dumbest one ?

I think that would be in "Adventures in Turtles Sitting", where Krang plans to get rid of other criminals like Pinky Mc Finger by building a fake island as a trap. I never got the point of his scheme :-?

I'd probably have to agree with you there. Although right now I'm so tired I can't really think straight so I can't really recall too many of Krang's schemes. I don't know why he would want to get rid of all the gangsters in the city, he was always using them to do his bidding.

The island was gonna float into space though! Anyway, that was pretty dumb, because, how was the thugs any competition? He had Dimension X technology! He should have been able to vapourize them in the blink of an eye.

I think the idea of making the Turtles fight each other was brilliant, it is sometimes the best way to get rid of your arch nemesis.

It's not the simple fact that they were fighting amongst themselves (the same thing happened in Splinter No More), its WHAT they were fighting over. Why of all things did Krang want to use a friggin' LOVE POTION?

All these schemes so far are pretty bad, I have to agree. I don't understand why he would invest so much material in building a fake island or think about what chemicals make a turtle fall in love. You gotta admit that when he drilled underground to find that jungle with dinosaurs was pretty dumb too. Nothing like leaving a big hole in the middle of a city to have the turtles follow.

I saw that episode, but only when I was a child. Can't remember much about that episode, apart from the turtles changing to five-year-olds and the group chasing an ice-cream truck down the street. If any one can send me an exact recap of that episode, it'd be much appriciated.

20,000 Leaks Under The Sea was a bit crazy. Draining the sea and then flooding New York just to crush the turtles. I think Krang might have achieved something though, if it hadn't been for Mikey's surfing skills...and I don't know if it's different outside of the UK but was Don not showing off his boat thing at the start and then it never actually got used beyond that? I expected it to be one of those 'Don invented something at the start and later it'll be useful' kinda things

Krang never had any dumb schemes. That guy was a genius! Love conquers all, right? What better way to get the Turtles to fight each other than with a love potion??? Oh Krang, you crush us all with your mighty intellect.

It's also worth noting that almost all of his schemes would've worked if Bebop and Rocksteady -- or Shredder himself -- didn't flub them up. The Turtles weren't so much worthy opponents as they were lucky that Krang didn't have better partners in crime.

I don't even remember Donatello with any boat, I'd better rewatch this episode

If any one can send me an exact recap of that episode, it'd be much appriciated.

On www.ninjaturtles.com, the summary is quiete good, it's not a 3-lined recap like some episodes in season 7

The '20,000 Leaks Under The Sea' episode? It's kind of a dinghy hovercraft looking thing, Don shows Mikey it and uses his plunger gun thing to catch a frog...and Mikey says its 'toad-ally awesome' <groan>

The 'Adv. in Turtlesitting' one, and the other Turtles-shrink-back-to-children ep, 'Back to the Egg'. If Shredder knew the Turtles were little, why'd he let that Captain guy take them, why not use it to his advantage and just kill the little turtles? Other dumb Krang plots were in eps like 'Channel 6 from Outer Space' and various European eps like, 'The Irish Jig is up'. I can't remember all the crazy plots Krang came up with!

His voice was perfect, funny and serious at the same time, and luckily it was voiced by the same actor from season 1 to season 10.

I agree that Krang's voice was perfect. It wasn't too comical but wasn't too threatening either. Plus depending on his tone, he could set the mood of the occasion quite well.

Now I come to think of it, there was some episodes where Krang and Shredder planned to steal gold.. what a degrading plot for world's conquerors.

But why would they need money? They have enough technology.
I agree that since Shredder is a human, he's governed by feelings that can make him addicted to richness.

But Krang has nothing to do with this world. He wants to show his strenght by conquering, not by being the richest alien in the galaxy..

I thought that Shredder's humanity was most evident in his burning desire to finish the Turtles and Splinter with his own hand. Because of this, he held off on building Krang's android body for so long. Also, in "The Big Blow Out" he wanted to finish the Turtles and Splinter with one of the Technodrome's cannons and ended up falling right into the Turtles' trap.

Since this thread was supposed to be about Krang's hair-brained schemes...what the hell was the deal with trying to airlift the Channel 6 building to Dimension X???

I think you're referring to Plan 6 from Outer Space

I don't remember why he wanted the Channel 6 building.. Maybe because of the satellite dish on the roof? Anyway, that was a weird plan

Don't forget that Krang is a composite of many encyclopedias, so he would probably find a good use for gold, other then redecorating the Technodrome and installing golden toilets. Plus, if Kerma and his race could use it for energy, I'm sure it would work for someone from Dimension X.

You're right, in Venice on the Half Shell, I understood that Krang wanted huge quantity of gold to improve the Foot Soldiers
But if you take Nights of the Rogues, Krang dug a hidden treasure which had no use but being rich (except for paying the rogues, but it was not Krang's idea)

They wanted the new channel 6 satelitte equipment as some means to power the technodrome or to warp it back to Earth, or something of the sort. I just remember they needed that equipment badly.

Well what makes me laugh is when they were stuck at the Earth's core is they never thought of using the heat from the Earth's core to produce energy. I would think after all the other stuff Krang invented he could've invented something to do that.

I never thought of that.
I guess they had to find an independant source of energy, since the Technodrome was low on power.

I think the writers probably came up with that at one point, but abandoned it. Because if you think about it, if Krang was to do that, he'd be unstoppable since there would be no turtles down there to interfere and he'd get as much energy as he wants. So the show would end pretty quickly after that happened, which is why they made Krang ignore that possibility altogether.

It wasn't to get rid of the turtles, it was to keep them occupied so he could get the nuclear energy that he needed that would help them get the technodrome to the surface while they were distracted. I have seen the ep and have it on one of my vcr tapes.

The first thing that came to mind was the attempt to make everyone cowards with a special ray. The episode with that was on that one Easter tape. I have it, but I can't think of the name right now (tired).

Well, if I remember correctly, they're trying to get the ray attached the satellite on top of the Channel 6 building so they can turn the entire world (or was it the city?) into cowards, but they run into the Turtles before they get the chance. But not before turning most of Channel 6 into cowards. Bebop and Rocksteady try to turn the Turtles into cowards but the ray doesn't work on mutants. This is where the plot goes bad, I think.

Why did they design a ray that turns all of the humans (who pose little threat to them) into cowards, but not the Turtles (who give them all the trouble)? It would be like being in a war against the U.S. and deciding to bomb Chile instead. Why would you focus your attack on someone other than your real opponent? Sure, making all the humans cowards would make it a little easier for them, but they'd still run into the roadblock that the Turtles and all their allies would present.

I don't know if the blame for that bad idea should go to Krang or Shredder, though. I don't remember who's idea it was.
