Yeah, no kidding. Many are so toxic that even a single cap can kill you, or even just make you severely ill and cause other health problems. I've actually cooked wild mushrooms, so I know how dangerous it can be to pick the wrong ones. Which is why I've always stuck to puffballs, since they are easy to identify, and are completely safe. (And delicious! Like eating soft bread!) Quote:
I think the point there was that they probably wouldn't know which ones were safe. Seriously, speaking from experience, there are so many dangerous mushrooms that look almost identical to edible ones, and unless you are REALLY certain of what you've got, some of them you don't even want to TOUCH! Problem is, you might not even realize which is which until it's too late. As for those that grow in a sewer..... I wouldn't even want to TRY. Nothing GOOD is going to come of that, trust me. (I collect wild puffballs when I can get them, but even I won't touch them if they grow in or too close to manure... Too many microbes that could be accidentally ingested.) |
Haven't read through this entire thread so if anyone already called it, ignore me. Anyway, pretty sure the mind-controlling doodad the Shredder's playing with is going to be used on Leo.

Please someone recap us on the source(s) of the dark Raph thing? If I recall someone heard something somewhere... but then that seems to have been all there was to it. (Unless I'm forgetting something.) So, hate to say it, but I've been a little iffy on if it's really happening or not. (Don't get me wrong, I do hope it happens and hope that it's Raph, or to a lesser extent Donnie.)
|
I hope it's Raph too. After the whole injured Leo dealio, another turtle needs some attention. But dark Donnie might be a little strange. This is just me, lol, but I can see Mikey going dark before Donnie.
|
Yeah, I'd rather it not be Leo, he's taken his hits, I'm ok with him not getting any for a bit (I hate seeing him harmed anyhow) and Raph does need a good story centered on him. Maybe he does have something big coming and is why he simply hasn't gotten much for a while?
Mikey... The only kind of dark I can imagine Mikey being is like Dave the beaver... some pathologically happy, twisted sort of psychotic. Mikey's sunshiny happiness could almost be like a super power, no true evil from Shredder or whoever should ever defeat it. |
I think that's why I can see him being so scary if he was brain-washed. The cute and innocent Michelangelo becomes lost in darkness and his kusarigama has a craving for TURTLE BLOOD!

Pangolinfeets got word of that from Brandon Auman at an NYCC signing, I believe. Fairly sure it's been confirmed officially as well, though I don't recall where.

Oh! I just remembered I never mentioned how awesome Hun was. Did you guys see him lick that hockey puck? x'D What a freak; he's great
|
All in all, I felt this episode was totally contrived. when I heard the title 'Casey Jones Vs The Underworld' and found out it would focus on Hun and the Purple Dragons, I was hoping for better.
I certainly wan't hoping for 'Casey is pissed at sitting out the last episode and becomes and idiot taking insane risks'. I thought that if Casey was taking on the underworld solo that he'd have developed as a character enough for it to be a better reason than a childish temper tantrum or hurt pride. Like, Hey! Remember at the end of season 2 when they made a point of him trying to find his family? Tie this to that and voila! Much more palatable. All that said, I liked Hun. I've been a massive Bruce Lee fan since as long as I can remember, and this must be only the second time something has been a deliberate tribute to him that hasn't had me rolling my eyes in disgust (the other being Street Fighter's Fei Long). |

Well it was fun seeing Casey getting his arse handed to him at the beginning, but really this is not the Casey Jones Show and I'm getting irritated at the main characters continually being edged out of the way to showcase his schick.

Honestly, I don't think he adds anything. That's the difference between him and April. |

- Is there anyone else who thinks the mafia boss slurp too much and eating like a pig too? - - I can imagine that Shredder becomes disgusted with everything slurping and pig-eating. - |
