3 months+ being gone. Realistic amount of time for Leo to have recovered. Any less and people would be complaining about that. The + being the couple weeks all the weird mutant sh*t is happening. Which is fine because it's all cause and effect and not just "oh the Turtles are here now so it just so happened that weird sh*t was going to go down anyway." Plus the EPF is there, and has probably quarantined New York. Hell, we might even get a few Karai/Splinter bonding episodes soon. Also, it's only like 6 episodes in in a show that has 26 episodes a season. Once the Turtles make it back to New York and regroup with Splinter, Karai, Leatherhead, and any other mutant who hates the Kraang, they probably defeat the Kraang, defeat Shredder, retro mutate everybody that's been mutated, and then the season is over. They HAVE to time it right and pace it out. After two seasons of doing nothing but New York and mutants and Kraang and Shredder, the folks behind the show are also probably a little burned out on it and the Northampton farmhouse is giving them not only a brand new setting, but also a chance to stretch their horror fanboy wings and cut loose a bit. While still giving us fun Turtles stuff. SO I say stay in Northampton and creep it up for as long as they feel the story needs to, hit up that spirit quest, get in touch with Splinter mentally, and then head back to New York for a huge Turtle/Mutant on Shredder/Kraang all out brawl. As a life-long horror and Ninja Turtle fan, I'm enjoying the ride. Quote:
... Well, that certainly is a thing. |
Definitely agree with Trick here. They can't go back to New York yet without an effective plan, and as I've stated before, I feel that while Leo may be physically healed now, he still might have mental scars from the beating he took so he's not ready to face that yet. I can't say I blame him for that, so just let them stay in Northampton as long as they need to and the rest will come.

I don't think you would need to have a length of more episodes to justified how long it takes to heal. With storyboarding, you give appearance that that three months have past. Legend of Korra did with flashbacks. TMNT could have done with transition scenes or a montage could have taken care of that. Since in every incarnation of the franchise, with the exception being OT, North Hampton was a place that they always come back more then once in a series. All they have to edit out Leo limping in "A Foot too Big", and the "Croaking" and then both of those episodes could easily been shown after the Return to New York arc is finish. I have to wonder if there anything left in New York that's still standing. Even after they come back and save it, the place would probably have so much damage left over by the Invasion that I could see them just simply wanting to go back to North Hampton and maybe then that when we will see what was missing during the first time that they were there. |

And a lot of that being things I have thought and/or stated as well previously. I'm not really one to complain about fillers, scattered throughout I don't mind them and they're usually a fun (hey, I am the one who made the "favoite filler" thread after all lol), though at this point it would be a plus if they'd weave a little more of the underlying story into these episodes. Leo's got his hints of healing happening so he's got his thing going, but it's sort of the only thread tying things together right now. Other little touches would be helpful. Hope things are about to get a little more back on track once it returns. |

Anyway, there are also more bilingual and international schools in Tokyo. So it would be more likely to come across someone with decent English compared to say...Sapporo (Hokkaido), for instance, or even where I live. They have so many places in Tokyo for English speakers, including doctors. But, there are suburban places in Tokyo as well as smaller towns. It's like New York. There's more to the place than just NYC. Quote:
For Splinter, though, I could see a character like his being from Kyoto (which is Japan's old capital) and before that, Nara was the capital. So yeah, maybe they could go that path if they ever do a Japan story. Have him come from Kyoto or Osaka or Kobe. In the Archie Comics, we find out that Yoshi was living in Hiroshima as a child and witnessed the bomb drop and was a survivor of it (which helped put an age on him for that continuity). Interesting if they could even go that route. I also like the Japan arc for that, since the turtles weren't hanging around Tokyo, but I forgot where in Japan they were. |

But still I would want to see Yoshi's parents just to see the reactions they have when they meet their four adopted turtle grandkids for the first time and maybe to get idea of what Yoshi and Saki were like as children. I have a feeling that Yoshi was a cross between Mikey and Raph. Charming and charismatic but quick temper and cocky. |

That aside, still wish I could recall where they were supposed to have been or where the island was. Quote:

There's Cluckingsworth too who lay those mutant eggs that powered the car. I figured that they're going to use the ship to sneak back to NYC when the time comes and use Cluckingsworth to help power it. |

His revenge is just a outlet or excuse of a deeper troubling issue that he can't not or mentally refuse to confront himself. This why I need to see Yoshi's parents. There is just too much character development potential to not go to Japan. Plus the idea of the turtles having a grandma is just so freak'in adorable.http://i.imgur.com/3dMjp.gif |
Every time I see one of these episodes at the farmhouse I wonder how long they will drag it out. Yes Leo needs to heal but he should be close to ready by now. I can't help but wonder what the Krang have been doing all this time and how far their reach is. You wouldn't think that they would have stayed only in NYC the whole time, would you?

I could see Mikey just eating up the whole concept and being close with her. And a grandmother could be a gentle, understanding hand when Raph is mad at the world. |
