Woot! Finally, they got their heads out of their butts and partly figured out what's wrong. Thank goodness.

And here's more info on Gastritis, in case you folks don't know much about it, because I sure didn't.

And that's a shame about the meds, Jo. Did they at least up the dosage?

Thanks guys! I'm just popping in for a moment for an update.

I'm home and mostly ok. Tired and sore and all that. Thus far, they have decided I have acid reflux and gastritis. They also biopsied my stomach to look for bacterial things. So that kinda hurts, heh.

Sadly, they want me to take the same meds I have been on, that haven't been working.

Anyhow, I'm off for now. I'll be back later to update a bit if I can.

Thank you all for the good thoughts. I still have one test to go in a few weeks. *hugs and kisses to you all*

I hope things get better soon. :)

Thanks. I'm getting prepared for my (hopefully) last test this Wednesday. We're trying more meds, so I'm up to three different ones a day, one twice a day. I was really excited because I did feel better for a few days, but that was followed by almot a week of not eating again.

So, we'll see. Thanks for the good thoughts.

I hope they find out what it is, Jo, and I hope you feel better soon.

Last test (for now, heh) is over and done with. And whoo, what a doozy, heh. Apparently, I didn't wanna wake up from anaesthesia, heh. They kept calling me and nudging me... They had to help me to my car! (Last time, I woke up fine and was moving around well, right after and all that.) I ended up sleeping after I got home, too! And late this morning. I'm still tired.

But, we found out one more thing to add to my list of 'what's wrong'. Nothing... serious in the way that I have to have anything removed or anything... But serious in that it's sucky and a huge change to my life. We're dropping two meds, and gaining another.

So, hopefully, that will work. Again, thanks for the good thoughts (and putting up with me when I've been less than humorous lately, heh. It's frustrating!)

Thanks again!

Damn, Jo, that's a pretty scary thing. Glad you're up and about--anaesthesia's no joke... :o

Well, I think that's good. Well not the huge sucky change part, but the dropping of two meds. But what's the total of meds that you have to take now? Is it just the new one, or that in addition to something else?

Oo...you must've been really tired when they put you onto the anesthesia *laughs weakly* Well, at least all of the tests are out of the way for now. All we can do now is sit tight and hope for the best *conjures up a bunch of flowers and hands them to you*

I'm glad that at least you've started to figure out what's wrong. Hopefully knowing that will lead to more effective treatment.

Good to hear they found out what it was, now I hope they get to the part where they start making you feel better and all that great stuff :D

Katie 02-08-2007 11:46 AM

have they tested you for Crohn's Disease? I'm sitting at home sick today and I was watching Animal planet about some medicine they make from horse shoe crab's blood (did you know it was blue? the blood? freaky stuff)

This thread popped into my mind when I saw it.

of course it could be the headache making me loopy too :ohwell:
