A cop, or maybe a police detective? IDK, Ciro said that she'll grow up to be the OT April that we all know and love but I haven't really seen the investigating reporter type of personality coming from her lately. She feels more like someone who just wants to make a difference and fight the bad guy rather then just uncovering the truth.

Surprisingly if there was anyone who felt like a future reporter it was Irma back when she had tried to get Casey to spill on why he looked so beat up on the night when the hockey rink was close or something, but of course it was just Sub kraang prime being a spy looking for local intel.

My gut said cop or someone that can make a difference base on the little bits of scenes that we have seen her in, but most of the time and unlike Casey, her personal interest on what she likes or cares about are largely unknown.

Or an ethologist that explores the deep jungles to study animals in their native habitat? That's way out there though in the realms of fan fiction and head canon.

I feel that season 1 April could've made an interesting investigative reporter when becoming an adult. Like how she managed to get info out of the Purple Dragon and stuff or when she managed to get blue prints of TCRI or how she wanted to investigate the missing scientist thing.

Really wish that they kept with that instead her metal fan and calling her "Kunoichi in training". http://www.narutoforums.com/images/s...3/faceplam.png

I am okay with her learning how to fight but I really detest how it happen.

Like others have said. I can believe Casey can hold his own because he has so much homemade gear and weapons on himself.

She doesn't even have any protection..just a metal fan. Jeez.

April may still get her chance to shine as a reporter. For example we have that Message Board she started in season 1 and then there was that moment when Joan Grody discovers and gets footage of the Turtles in Noxious Avenger.

So when that Humans vs. Mutant Plot line starts in late season 4.
Joan Grody would naturally paint the Turtle and Mutants in general as a menace to society because that would gain ratings.

To counter act this April could return to her message board or start a blog about how the Turtles are the City's prime defense against forces such as the Kraang and should be seen as Heroes not Monsters.

I played with the Idea but like a fellow member brought up she would often be at odds with the Turtles.

What if she takes up persona of Nobody but still kept the occupation as a cop like the original character did in the Mirage?

Working with turtles as Nobody but does normal police work when separated?

April shouldn't be in on the action much, if at all, IMO. Any more than this series does it would really be pushing it, I think.

Luckyday 10-03-2015 01:14 AM

Anyway is Casey written like an escapist character at times?

Can we not have an OT styled April again? Can't she grow up to be something else?

Luckyday 10-03-2015 09:47 AM

I don't know. April is such a empty canvas type of character that you can project your beliefs and likes on to April because so much of her is base on general assumption from just smallest details that she have said or things that we see of her. And even with some actions that are questionable like the ending of "The Foot to Big" with some of us have tried to make sense with putting our individual interpretations of it.

Casey acts more like his age then any of the characters with being a cocky teenager but with April she has more of the other side of being a teenager that is still in the dark of what she really wants to do with her life and to really find herself. We know and assumed she wants to go college because she cares about her school work but we don't know her end goal from graduating from college.

Maybe that new April spinoff will have her explored. I always wonder what she is thinking about during her time with the turtles.

My feeling of this version of The Case is very polarizing. I can love one min and hate'em the next.

Tetsu Deinonychus 11-13-2015 06:04 PM

Yeah. I wouldn't really say I "hate" this version of Casey. But, I'm not that fond of him. He's just kind of an annoying brat at times and doesn't seem to add much to the show.

When I heard he'd be a teenager on the new show, I was picturing something more like Kevin 11 in a hockey mask, and I kinda wish they'd have gone that direction.

T-U-R-T-L-E POWA! 11-13-2015 06:15 PM

No I really love him but they have certainly done some things with him lately that have made him obnoxious and annoying. Overall though I love this version of Casey. I think the writers sometimes go overboard with Mikey as well.

I think the writers should spend less time on reintroducing characters from the Fred Wolf cartoon, and spend more time developing the characters they already have (Casey, April, Raph, Mikey).

I think they've done a pretty good job of introducing new characters. The only thing is that they seem to use them very sparingly. I wish the "b-team" would sorta get some more episodes. I'd say having celebrities voice them probably makes it harder to consistently feature them though. Maybe a double edged sword?

No, you don't understand. As a result of reintroducing so many old characters ,the show is neglecting the characters it already has. The main characters receive less episodes for character exploration and development. They suffer as a result.

Nasubionna 11-14-2015 03:04 PM

Yeeeeah. A lot of commenters have already summed up pretty well how I feel about this version of Casey: he has his moments and his design and voice are great, but he annoys me to no end. I don't hate him, but he frustrates me A LOT (much of this is the fault of the writers, because he has a lot more potential... though I feel that way about most/all of the characters, so...)
But, to be fair, Casey has never been my favorite character (not a fan of the cocky, overconfident types, personally), so my irritation with him is not all that surprising.

BabyTurtles 11-14-2015 04:42 PM

I could live without both April and Casey....I seem to enjoy the turtles more when they aren't around....(like that time travel special that aired online)
