So they didn't touch on Dregg having a robot head in the previous episode at all. This episode he seemed like a bug alien who could extend his arms and such but nothing about him seemed mechanical.
So I don't get it. He even mentioned how the Turtles killed his scorpion bug in the previous ep so he must have been the same one. |
Another hi octane adventure. It all whizzed by rather quickly for me as it didn't let up for a moment.
Planet graphics are jaw droppingly good. Tokka was the ibvious standout in this episode. So, one more space themed episode to go..... I'll miss Fugitoid, unless they decide to keep using him. |
Technically next week is both a space episode and the first return to Earth episode at the same time.

How gullible was Dregg towards the end... Saw that double-cross coming.

Seeing as Dregg is an android of sorts, I don't think we'll see the last of him. I mean even if the biological flesh side of him freezes in space, surely it won't stop the mechanical side of him working.
But I don't think Dregg was even necessary today. I felt that the drama could've been escalated as easily without him. Don't get me wrong; I liked this episode but it felt as though it was over really quickly. Between the feature of Dregg, and I will echo the earlier comment that there were too many 'falling into lava' moments, I don't think the tension between the turtles and the triceratons was used effectively. I mean the turtles saw this as their last chance to get the missing piece of the black hole generator, the stakes were at their highest, but there was very little, full on confrontation. Unless we're saving the real drama for the final head-to-head I suppose. On the plus side I LOVE little Chompy Picasso. He is the cutest. |

Like I said, "Elseworlds". |
Dregg probably is part robot cause he shoots missiles out of his chest and has a partial robot head but he has organs and can eat and such, he's kinda like the Vreen

I wonder if Tokka will eventually show up on Earth.

I'm more confused by what is apparently Cthulhu
|
I wonder if we'll actually see the rest of those monsters or those are just throwaway designs.
|
I'm surprised some of them aren't shoutouts to Ciro's other shows. Sort of like how one of the other cosmic beings besides Wyrm was in the robot monkey show. And it was almost exactly identical too.
|
I can see Cudley the Cowlick showing up in a later season.
|
I really liked this episode. Chompy is really cute and I was surprised how much I liked this new Tokka. I liked all of the fighting and back and forth with Captain Mozar and Lord Dregg too.
I really liked how Cudley the Cowlick was One of the Six Great Cosmic Monsters of the Universe! I wonder if the Cthulhu creature is another Archie reference of Naughtikus the Kraken? And could the last cosmic monster be a reference to Maligna's Hive-World or Maligna herself maybe? |
