Baxter off-screen killed by Tiger Claw?

 So funny, this one definitely made me laugh in a few places.

Raph and his figures... can't say THAT crossed my mind. However for a sec I wondered if he was making his figures get it on. :tlol:

I love that Mikey stuck up for himself and saying he's smart after Fishface called him Dumb. I cheered at that :D:D

Yeah, great episode. Really fun too. I don't mind Gecko's design but his personality was great.

Not really filler since Mondo is bound to return and this is Hun's second appearance.

It is filler as it strays away from our main storyline of the mind control formula, even with Hun returning.

i can't argue though the episode was fun though.

Great episode, it's nice seeing Shredder's henchmen without having Shredder around.

I like Mono Gecko though I hope he learns how to fight eventually.

CyberCubed 05-10-2015 11:39 AM

Does Shredder know that all his minions watch Fishface's skateboarding competitions?

They were all there, Rahzar, Tiger Claw, Baxter, Rocksteady, Bebop, Hun, etc. I guess we also see where Snakeweed and Spiderbitez winded up too.

Maybe Shredder was out looking for his dog, so all the minions took the oppertunity to slip out to take a break.

I enjoyed seeing the mutant villains during their 'downtime'. Usually they face the turtles during 'work hours'. It really flipped this episode on its head.

We've needed some more Fishface for a while and this was so much fun.

While I don't think Mondo is a bad character, I don't know how much we can get out of him story wise. Now that we've seen his back story and he's no longer working for Xever, I have a feeling he'll end up like Snakeweed, occasionally popping up when they need mutants to fill the background scenery.

I don't want that but I can't imagine he'll instigate major plots unless he does the obvious and join the Mutanimals.

CyberCubed 05-10-2015 11:51 AM

Mondo Gecko will probably join the Mutanimals as he's one of the original members since the Archie series, and is also part of them in the IDW series.

That's a given, Besides, He needs a place to stay.

And having Mondo Gecko be human previously, Makes a lot more sense, Since I don't know how the IDW version even has knowledge about skating boarding, Let alone, Act like a human.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the nod to Mondo Gecko's Fred Wolf origin story. I was actually expecting Mr. X to be a totally original character the moment Mondo Gecko mentioned him, though I it was pretty cool how they went with FishFace there. Didn't even make the connection until I heard the name "Xever".

It was a nod to Archie comic and Fred Wolf for sure.

I bet he was trying to cover all those holidays.

"You ALL want Sunday 10th May off?!?!?"
"Master Shredder it's the grand race final. Xever got us ringside. We've had the tickets for weeks."
"Very well. I shall allow it."

Yea, except I was sort of expecting Mondo to mention having a girlfriend. I was also hoping they'd make a reference to the Geico lizard.

Maybe in a later episode, We find out he previously had a girlfriend, If his Parents kicked him out for being a Mutant, If he had a girlfriend, How would she react to him? Hopefully just like in the comics.

Aaronardo 05-10-2015 12:37 PM

All of Shredder's henchmen being there with all those other mutants... my continuity error bone can't take much more of this!!

Caught the repeat on the Nick2 channel; yeah, the shot of Raph from the back could look a little that way if that's how someone wants to take it.

Someone no doubt will prob gif that and then it will look just sooo so wrong. Nick should have considered the inevitability of that. :tlol:

Fantastic episode. Robbie Rist was awesome as Mondo. And hearing Mikey say "Cowabunga!" was pretty rad too.

Mondo is annoying. I'm sorry but he really is annoying, just needed to say that.

Over all the episode was pretty fun but is it even intended to be canon? Even though I liked the racing, I seriously doubt any of this was intended to be in continuity, or at least someone really didn't care about continuity. Here's a couple of headscratchers:
  1. If Mondo has been taken care of by Xever since his mutation, why wasn't he part of the Foot Clan?
  2. When did Xever have time for a X-Men Morlock sewer society?
  3. Most of the villains observing the race have connections to the foot, why make Mikey and Casey race instead of bringing them to the Shredder?
  4. Follow up, why not capture them after the race and bring them to Shredder?
  5. Aren't some of the villains in the crowd... Well... Dead?

Again the episode is fun but this show has continuity and it's so weird to see an episode that just seems to ignore it. If this episode is indeed canon... Well, then it's just bizarre. I just imagine this scenario:
