Man this show has gotta be a little scary for kids. I do really like what they are doing is this series as a whole though.

My cousin and I were chatting this morning, and she said the same thing. She had the show on last night for her girls to watch (ages 9 and 11) and while the 9 year old was a hard core fan of the first two seasons, she hasn't been liking the new season at all, and both begged to have their mom turn it off and put Walking Dead on instead. Personally, the season is a big miss. The ratings for this season I think is a good indiactor to that as well.

I miss Shredder so much. He's a character that, well, somebody actually put some thought into.

I still fail to see how all the one-off mutants from Seasons 1-2 were any different. Rockwell, Cockroach, Squirrelnoids, etc. were all the same type of monsters who didn't speak, etc.

Outside of Rahzar, Fishface, TigerClaw and Slash...I'd say the only other mutant with a decent personality was Newtralizer.

Great episode - love to see the nods to Casey working on the car in the shed have paid off from previous episodes.
Also, I now need the hot rod in my life - Casey Jones needs his vehicle!

This episode was okay. It's been the best since the season premier, and that isn't saying much. This has been an odd season. I was hoping for so much more from the Northampton trip but its been a let down. If others enjoy it, that's awesome, glad you like it but I find myself not even worrying about being in front of the TV at 8. The main reason I watch is hoping for some story progression but no, more Donnie-April-Casey and weird mutants.

I'm not nitpicking but I would of thought that there would be some police out there looking for this lunatic driver as it was breaking news on tv.

I would assume Casey has a license and havent seen April drive yet so she probably doesn't have one

Anyway I watch alot of police shows Traffic Cops and Road Wars and I guess your driving laws are different to the UK.

It would of been funny if Casey was pulled over for speeding and didn't have any Insurance, Tax, Mot ect and then have the car taken away to the pound and of course end up with points on his license. :lol:

But also Casey shouldn't even be driving the mini van because he has no insurance to drive it.

Man, this show has so jumped the shark. It's horribly sad to say that. While there were some good moments, I just didn't like it that much. What are they doing? Who is writing this? Are they trying to win over a different fan base? Anyway, I liked the abc insults, Donnie as the car, April telling the guys to stop fighting, April and Raph in the end. That's really it. I rewatched season one so many times, but I doubt I'll ever watch season three again. We'll see how things go when they get back to NY.

I love the name Mikey gave the chicken. Dr. Cluckingsworth, M.D. She should so get her own show.

However, the hot rod Donnie and Jones built is unregistered, uninspected, and without plates. If caught, that's a fine and possible jail time.

It would have been better to slap a plate on the hot rod and never explain it. Then the episode's only really crime would be that all the driving and racing wasn't all that exciting.

When they go back to NYC, wonder if they'll take the chicken with them?

Or maybe they'll end up given to someone else or just have their own chicken colony with this smart one at the helm.

I'm still trying to figure out what I just watched. lol This ep was okay, it had some pretty good parts.

I like how well Donny and Casey were getting along, and I love Raph's, "I know how you feel, April" at the end. The only thing I can think of right off that I did find a little bothersome, was when April said that they needed to stop fussing or whatever. I had no prob with her saying this, but it bugged me because it's not often we even see this to begin with. The way she seemed to make it was, "OMG, every single time you're in the same room together, you have a go at each other!"which they don't...so seems this ep was set up this way for plot convenience, just like Chinatown Ghost Story, only it was done more so there. Here it was fine.

I'm confused over the mutant car though. How did driving through mutagen get into the car's oil system and stuff. I kinda wish it could've been explained. Did the car mutate that way because the last thing touching it was human?

Some of the things I liked, the homage to the first turtles movie with the ABC insult banter between Donny and Casey there. The See & Say was just pure nostalgia. I never had one, but I remember them.

That chicken...was he supposed to be like Kit from Nightrider? William Daniels was the voice of Kit on Nightrider and the actor played a doctor on St. Elsewhere, so...could that have been the reference? Oh speaking of the chicken, that was weird, but I liked that chicken. How the heck did it get stuck in the clutch? lol

Oh, and seeing Casey in this episode, makes me wonder if it's foreshadowing his temper issue later on or that he may end up having one later on. One of the things I've noticed about both Casey and Raph is how both have very mild tempers compared to their original counterparts. That's one of the things they could bond over because they understood the anger thing. There isn't any anger. Since leaving the city, Raph's temperament has been really calm. I just can't help but wonder if the stuff with Raph is leading to something, and now I wonder this about Casey.

I would say more, but I'm still trying to process what I saw. lol Oh, I really did like Demon Donnie for Rob's work. It was great! The design was cool too. Still wish they could've explained how the car was able to mutate in such a way or maybe have had Donnie come up with a theory as to why, but the mutagen Mom-Thing had wasn't perfected mutagen and as the Kraang have said before the perfection of it, it doesn't work as desired in this dimension and it may not work in the way that you originally intended.

I wonder if they'll keep the chicken. It'll be a nice pet, just like ICK.

Another prediction, that chicken's eggs will help Donnie power up whatever he builds to get them back into the city undetected. As I've been saying for a while, I feel that stealth ship they found in Buried Secrets will become the new Turtle Blimp, but it would need a power source and someone super intelligent to figure it out or help maintain it, right? Maybe that's why the chicken was brought in.

So yeah, I think this ep foreshadowed something is going to change with Casey later on, having him become the iconic hothead we all know his adult self to be (or maybe even Hun will bring that out in him or Casey returning to NYC to see how it is may bring it out), and I am now wondering if when we get the Dark Raph arc, if Casey's going to be the one to contribute to getting Raph out of it. He'll understand the anger issue stuff or "darkness" and maybe finally get the bonding stuff that previous incarnations, sans the OT, of these two characters have had. Seems Raph and Casey don't hang much, accept for when they were doing vigilante stuff (other than Chinatown Ghoststory, but once again, the set up was plot convenience).

Oh yeah, Donnie' bo broke. Think this is another reason why the Spirit Quests are supposed to take place after this episode? They are supposed to get new weapons.

Oh, something else I forgot to mention that I disliked. They mentioned NYC. I really wish that every time they mention NYC, that maybe they look a little awkward and maybe abruptly change the subject to show that they do still think about it and the events that took place. I know this stuff had to have happened offscreen and stuff, but still would be nice to show it every once in a while, but I also have the feeling the Vision Quest will focus on this because each turtle will have to face an old enemy, so we'll probably finally get to see their reactions onscreen to the NYC invasion.

Like I said before, I have no problem with them not showing all that's going on in NYC or what happened to Splinter and the others (I like the suspense and theorizing on this anyway and how things will play out), I have an issue with them not sometimes acknowledging it.

You know, the Shellraiser should've raised a lot of questions and gotten a lot of attention from the cops. No registration. It's also a subway car, not meant for driving on an actual road. So far they're one-off, but yeah, I see what you mean and even then, Bigfoot and the Dream Beavers weren't mutants.I don't think the Newtralizer was a mutant. I figured that he was captured or whatever from wherever he's originally from, as the Kraang had his weapons.

Really? This episode just like most of this season has been good, its just them all being aired back to back that makes it seem so similar.

Ok, better late than never, right? Believe it or not, I actually saw this episode this morning at 4 am before leaving for work. If i was going to work an 8 1/2 hour shift, I wanted my dose of TMNT beforehand.

There is a lot to talk about in this episode, so I may just have to bounce around a bit here and there. Just bare with me.

Let me just get this out of the way now: Speak n' Says had the voice of the Devil! That is all.

Once again, this episode was SO not what I was expecting, but i was not disappointed either. I thought it was going to be a "Casey trying to impress April and tricks Donnie into making him a new car, which backfired on him" sort of deal, but it was sort of interesting to see Casey having Road Rage. (Shocking, I know. :roll: ) I know people want to see more of Raph/Casey interaction, but I truly believe their building up to a "Tang Shen Parallel." That's why I've tolerated the whole Capritello Love triangle thing for the past season and a half. Remember what happened with Splinter and Shredder:

Shredder and Splinter were best friends.
They were also RIVALS, though in a brotherly way.
Once Tang Shen entered their lives, all that was tested and eventually fell apart.

That's what I think will happen to Donnie and Casey, though not in that order. You saw how upset Casey was when April was rubbing Donnie's neck. Or how Donnie hated Casey giving April that hug. I really want to believe it'll be mentioned during Donnie's Spirit Quest. That he has to stop competing with Casey for April's affections and not risk ruining TWO solid friendships for ONE possible relationship, no matter who April ends up officially choosing. Wouldn't that be freaky if during his quest, he sees a weird reenactment of the day Tang Shen died, and when Shredder turns around, it's either Donnie or Casey's face instead of Oroku Saki's? (Oops, I made a prediction. That means it won't happen. My bad)

As for the mutant-car thing. I'm confused about how the mutagen worked too, but maybe it's not as weird as we think it is. Maybe the car had traces of human DNA under the rim and tires and stuff, so it used that to merge with it's driver, sort of giving it a weird A.I.? The Kraang have mental powers; maybe that batch was a weird psychosis-based formula.

Sort of wished I hadn't seen that Comic Con panel of Donnie as Speed Demon. That would've been a cool twist that I wouldn't have seen coming. For awhile, it really did look like Speed Demon was a mutated human. And I won't lie, once Donnie BECAME Speed Demon, I was really impressed. I liked the spark plugs in his shell and the fuses in his mouth, plus his bo staff as a stick shift was an awesome detail. But what brought it all together was delightful Mr. Paulsen! When you give him a crazy character, he does NOT fail to deliver. I was getting so many flashbacks of Hard Drive from "Swat Katz" and "The Mask" that the whole scene made me feel nostalgic.

I know a lot of people have been comparing the first half of this season to be more Halloween related and they thought this episode would be in that category. For me, it wasn't! This was no more a Halloween episode than "Turtle Temper" with SpyderBytes or "The Alien Agenda" with Justin. It was just another freaky-mutant episode. I haven't seen "Christine", but aside from it begin about a possessed car, I didn't see too many references to horror. Plus, I thought Donnie as Speed Demon was more funny than scary. His big flapping mouth reminded me of a crazy Muppet.

Last but not least: the Chicken. Sort of out of nowhere, but let's just assume this is Donnie's new pet. Like how ICK is Mikey's pet and Spike was Raph's. I actually think ssjup81 made a good point: how the eggs will be a source of fuel for the Turtles. Certainly seems plausible. Plus it was kinda cute once you got past the large brain.

All in all, this was just another fun episode to have before the heavy stuff starts. I really hope people aren't setting the bar too high for the Spirit Quest like they did with North Hampton. During season 2, people couldn't wait to get to that story arc. Since it isn't overly emotional and there's little to no angst, people are bitching again.

I forgot to rank the eps so far and as I've said before, I like something about every single episode of the series as a whole. There are some I would rewatch less than others, though, but I still truly like them.

The Dream Beaver ep and the Punk Frogs eps are still my season 3 favorites so far and both rank first. I've rewatched both many times because I liked them so much.

Next would be a Foot Too Big. It was funny, and I liked Mikey a lot for it...and the nostalgia glasses are on for that one too, so a little bias there.

Next would be Buried Secrets. It was nice to learn more about the Kraang and the hope that April's mom is still alive and well somewhere. Still say they need to bring Kurtzman back in and hope he's still around when they return to the city.

Demon Car ep. The ep was okay, had its moments, but I couldn't see me rewatching this as much as the ones above.

Within the Woods. I've rewatched this one the least. I liked it...but not enough to rewatch it many times like some of the others.
