That was really out of nowhere and of all things...just so it fit with Mondo Gecko's love for skating. It was literally an excuse to have a race. A better way to have done it was to just have Mondo and Casey race across town or something since Casey didn't like him to begin with. Then end up fighting Fishface after introducing him as his Mr. X but then wanting to destroy Mikey and Casey he realised he was bad. |

It was something about the execution that made me feel that this shouldn't be taken seriously at all and yet that feeling was ruin by forcing on a today's moral on friendship. It was still a good episode but had the presentation been off in any way, I would have the same opinion like yours. |
Well like I said before I know it wasn't meant to be taken seriously and I was reading too much into it. I just thought it could have been done another way. Something that wasn't an obvious excuse.
Baxter Stockman would have fit perfectly for this like the episode with the maze of doom. I guess they didn't wanna entangle Mondo Gecko with Shredder since there's alot going on with that side of things. |
I liked the episode. It wasnt as serious as most of the episodes are. It was a funnly episode more like the Pizzaface one.
|
also how old do you think Mondo is?
I guess it's pretty much implied, but he said that it's been a year since he was hit with the mutagen....so that means the turtles are at least 16 right? |
1) I think this is a really entertaining filler episode. Its like their becoming more like the 1987 series.
2) Who else didn't expect that Fishface is this shows version of Mr. X? 3) I find it strange that Mondo Gecko (or Jason) didn't let both his mutation, and getting kicked out by his parents bother him. 4) The death race's audience made me think of Metalhead Rewired. |

I didn't expect it to be Xever either, although I guess it wouldn't be any other character if they were going to go with an established character. I find Mondo to be really annoying (although I seem to be the only one here who thinks so), maybe his parents did too? Maybe they didn't love him to begin with, the mutation was just an excuse to finally kick him out. As for why he wasn't bothered by the mutation, it happened a year ago so he might have come to terms with it. |
I had no idea Robbie Rist was going to be voicing Mondo, so that was a really awesome and unexpected surprise! Definitely the best part of the episode for me. ;) The rest of it was ok, just missed having more of the other turtles in the episode.

It was definitely a more ''fun'' episode, nice to have those too every once in a while after all the seriousness and disturbing stuff...
I liked it when Baxter vomited acid in Tigerclaw's snacks  |

I enjoyed this episode!
I love this version of Mondo Gecko. As someone who didn't care for the character before, I really like this version of him. All he wants to do is have fun. I think he should be new friend for Mikey in the same vain as Casey and Raph are. I loved the silly idea of Fishface hosting a skateboarding race. It seems so....unexpected. I wouldn't pegged him as that type of guy. It's nice to see the bad guys have something to do on their spare time. The bobby traps were pretty lethal though; piranhas that bite Mikey's crouch (OUCH! XD), the flames, and the smashing walls that smashed Fishface away. And Mikey shouted "Cowabunga"! It's odd that Mondo Gecko didn't shout "Booyakasha" after he asked him if he could use it. I wonder how often Mikey is going to shout it though if he will at all. |

I also like how Xever decided put himself in the race, because he wanted to be the center of attention. It felt very in character for him do that base on the interactions with him and Bradford. |
I loved this episode, but Mr. X should've been a new character. Would've been cool.
|
I always thought Xever (and those fish) were something more similar to barracuda or pike.

I think this was a very good, "Feel good nostalgic" episode.
I loved Mondo gecko and his weird since of humor, His design, And his skate board lingo. Shouting out Cowabunga with THAT VOICE, it was great. Them talking about how Old fashion cowabunga was... But at the end then both saying it!:D I liked pretty much everything about this episode except, Pizza face cameo, and Raphs action Figures. If he's 16+ he shouldn't be playing with dolls imo. |
HUGE missed opportunity:
"I LOVE BEING A GECKOOOOO!" Bummed me out when the episode finished without that line, I was fully expecting it. :tlol: |
