Old toon Leonardo
In the old toon I hated Leonardo!(No offense for leo fans).
He never done anything useful! Only once or twice. He had an annoying voice. I always tought that the turtles should be only 3. But when I started to watch the new toon, I started to like Leo. Old toon: I hated him! New toon: I respect him! 8) |
If I could revoke your talking privledges, I would :P
Leo is by far my favorite turtle, and always will be. Even though in the comics, the old toon, and the new toon he is portrayed a bit differently, at the core he is stil the same hardworking, concerned, and dedicated leader that I respect and love. :tlove: |
I like both leos. They both have great character. I always respected Leo, even though he is a cartoon character.I loved Leo's voice in the old cartoon. Even though it kinda sounded like he was going through pubiety.
|
yep
Leo has and will alway's be my favorite. Leo alway's came first before the other's He was the leader he had the katana's the Blue (fav. color). Old toon, new toon. In the mirage series he was great he really seemed like the strongest and the leader. I remember back in 1991 my dad was back from the Gulf War my whole family wen't to Indiana and we were in a mall and there was a Kay bee there and the movie turtles just came out my brother got Don (His fav.) Ther was no Leo :( but I got my second choice Raph. Later my Dad brought home the Movie Leo I was so happy
|
I like Casey.
|
Aw, Leo's always been my favorite, no matter what form he's in. Old toon, new toon whichever. I just love Leo. :tlove:
|
Yup Leo is all good be it movie, comic, old school toon, or new school. He is the best. I liked him because he was always so dedicated and serious but not overboard.
New toon Leo seems a bit too powerful. But he's still good. |
When I was growing up yeah I really hated Leo and for awhile even Don got on my nerves! Back then I was a Mikey fan! LOL
|
Raph's voice sounded like a middle-aged man and Splinter's voice sounded like a human.Seeing as he was Hamato Yoshi before in the old toon his voice didn't change much.
|
I like Leo in the new toon, but Leo in the old toon didn't tickle my fancy so much.
|
I love Leo! He's so great in so many ways! How can anyone not like him? He's the perfect representation of a ninja; highly trained, highly skilled, dead serious in combat, calm, cool, focused, fearless with an indomitable fighting spirit. He also wields the ninja trademark weapon. His responsability as the leader and Splinter's model student and star pupil is what makes him so strong. I don't understand why some people are complaining that Leonardo is too powerful in the new series. He's always been like that, it's just that the new series goes into deeper depth with all the characters, so their strengths and weaknesses are more notable. We all know that Leo has always been a very powerful warrior, so it becomes noted in the new series as a characteristic. The same goes with other characters such as Raphael for example. Raph has always had an anger managment problem, so it becomes noted in the new series as a characteristic. Unlike the old series, the new series characters are portrayed exactlly the way they're supposed to.

leo is mad gotta love him old new he is sick all the same but i gotta represent raph he is just to crazy he is like the guy that would kick your a$$ then steal your bike or somthing and you gotta love that .
and thats a nice pic krow of raph vs casey looks hotness. |
I did not mind the old toon LEo. He did have a whiney voice, because he was voiced by Cam Clarke. He did act too much like a leader and was closer to splinter. He was goofy at times though, that is what I liked. I heard, but NEVER SAW THE EP, that leo was afraid of snakes.
|
I never liked old toon Raph. He wasn't a hot head in that one but more of a stupid jerk. he talks when he should listen

I loved Leo ever since I was little he was like my hero
|
wasnt old raph lazy?
|
the old Raph sounded better he had more of a sense of humor than the new one
|
I don't get the Leonardo from the original cartoon. He was closer to Splinter than his friends (the TMNT and Splinter were NOT family in the old show) and he was DEATHLY afraid of snakes, yet he is a reptile himself. It's like if I was afraid of my own cousin, for God's sake. I'm not bashing him, I just don't get it.
|
hmm didn't know that

In the old series Leo was sort of like my least favorite turtle but he was alright.
|
*Borrow's leo's katanas, kills jet ski.* There we go.
|
Old toon Leo was cool. He was the best of the turtles and he still is in the new toon. The problem is he takes himself so seriously. He wants to be the best he can be, and the other tutles tend to get on his nerves, because they don't hold themselves to as high a standard. The problem with the old toon Leo is that when he got frustrated with the others he was kind of whiny about it. In the new toon, he has more authority in his voice, but still gets along better with his brothers. So, I love both, with a slight edge to the new toon.

I do think the old toon leo and new toon leo are about a tie with me. I almost like the old toon leo better, because he sounded goofier in season 4 eps. His voice was more serious in season 1 though. |
In my opinion, the coolest moment old toon Leo had was in Hot Rodding Teenagers form Dimension X. At the end of the episode when the other TMNT were sleeping, while polishing his katana, he goes to April: "They'll need their rest. Because tomorrow we find the Shredder...and FINISH HIM!!!" as he puts his katana in its "holder". That was REALLY BADASS!!!
|
I liked Leo in the earlier episodes of the old toon. By the series' end, he became goofy and I lost my favor with him.
|
so what Old Toon Leo was afraid of snakes he was the turtle version of Indiana Jones
|
That's cause in the old toon it was a pitiful representation of the guys..all of them were lame.
I can't believe I've watched the old show. But it made them popular ... |

Both shows are equally good, and since this IS the original forums once more, I think we can do with a little more respect towards the original cartoon, if you can't muster even that, don't post in here. Now, moving on CONSTRUCTIVLY and without wasting thread space in here to bash this show and it's characters in such a biased manner, the original cartoon Leonardo was the more "straight arrow" of the group, mostly following the code of honour and maintaining that code in whatever guise ("The Three Muskatrutles" anyone?) too bad he was never a favourate of the writers, how many episodes developed him in the original cartoon? Few and far between |
Wow, this was an old topic sprung back to life. Okay, here's my thoughts on Leo: he's now become my second favorite turtle, right behind Don. During the original toon, I wasn't allowed to like Don because my sister liked him, so I had to pick someone else. Won't say who in fear the fans of him will come after me. :D Anyway! I've always loved Cam Clarke's voice, probably more than Leo himself! His voice was the best in season one, very deep and very awesome. In fact, all the voices for him have been great. I guess you could say Leo moved up to my second fave after I read GreenWillow's fanfics. With reading them, I jumped back into reading Mirage (for artwork purposes, too) and could see she kept him very true to those books, and that made me love him even more! Don will always be my number one guy, but with what I've seen/heard/read with Leo, he's right in the number two spot. :)

I've loved Leonardo since I was seven. He was always great in the old toon and the movies, and it was the old toon where he first became my passion and ultimate favorite. Now in the new show, he is truly magnificent, and I much perfer him over the old toon version. This is how he was always meant to be shown, as he was in the comics. His character is so much more deeply developed, as with all of them. Though still I cannot forget that cute seemingly pre-adolesent version of the old toon that kindled my ever-lasting devotion and love to him.
Vive le Leonardo! |
Leonardo's my favorite of the bunch...now.
When I was a kid I liked Mike the most. I guess it's because he was the goofy one and I was entertained by stuff like that (I was like 6 or 7). However, looking back at the old show Leo stands as my favorite. Maybe I just like Cam Clark's voice. |
I really disliked Leo in the old toon; he was my least favorite. Don was always my favorite green guy.
But now Leo is my second favorite, right up there with Don himself!! ;) :) |
Heh, you're like me, Jo. When exactly did Leo make it to the number two spot for you?
|
wwooooo so i get persecuted for expressing my opinion...
i thought that's what forums were for... I am not a big fan of the old series, that's my point. |
Leo has been my favorite since I was six. :tlove: Old toon, new toon, comic and movies- he is the coolest!:tlove:

I was'nt persecuting you at all, I've been on the forums long enough to know the original cartoon is'nt supposed to be bashed on the general discussion thread in any capacity. Also people were going out of thier way to talk constructivly regarding this subject rather than the usual "Wahh, thiz suckz" opinion, you're more than welcome to your opinion, but if you're not a fan of the original series, at least keep out of threads regarding anything from it if you have no desire to even think a little better about the positives/negatives of a character you dislike, lord knows I've had the balls to acknowledge the positives of Next Mutation from time to time |
I still don't understand how anyone can say any single one of the turtles are cute. They look the damn same. :| :-?
