Crunchbungas?

I had those. Not as tasty as the cereal, but tasty nonetheless.
|
Huh. Never heard of those ones. Cool. :D
|
I loved Pizza Crunchabungas! My mom would put them in my lunch for school. :D
|
Yep same here Rahzar all the kids wanted to trade me their other dumb snacks for my pizza crunchabungas and I was like NOPE! lol

The bag manages to not only draw the kids in because of it being TMNT, but also advertise the Turtle Pizza Thrower toy. Pure genius

Look at the teeth on Leo. That's charisma, baby.

I never tried these. Artificially pizza flavored corn snacks? Damn you know it's got to be good. :kgrin:

Nah it just seemed funny to say. But there is a connection with the turtles and smuckers. In the cracked magazine spoof of the first movie Shredder was called Shmucker. Well they had a panel of the roof top scene and one of the turtles say's "this guy's good" then Splinter replies "with a name like Shmucker it has to be good".
|
I think I ate those like at least once. Looks very familier! I remember TMNT pepperoni! That was sure tasty! :tpizza:
Oh, I hope they start bringing this stuff back, but advertising the new TMNT of coarse. Quote:

Y'know, the Turtles have a bit of a resemblence to the Osmonds on that package... OMG! Leonardo it Donny Osmond in disguise!!
|
Holy crap... Kameko is onto something here. The ninja turtles ARE the Osmond brothers!!! AHHHHHHH RUN!!!! :x
|
I never heard of those crunchabungas
|
Now I'm craving for munchies with Turtles faces and weapons! Need....TMNT....snacks! :tpizza:
|
I remember those very well, they tasted like pringles.
|
Ah yes.....
Chrunchabungas!!!! Indeed.....I had like,10 bags of those for either or seventh birthday.
Had to be seventh, since we watched the first TMNT movie on vhs{me and all my mom's Latchkey kids}. Correct if I'm wrong, but the movie wasnt out in Feb.'90,so it mustve been my seventh. Also got Undercover Don,and like 20 other TMNT figs.....good times, man, good times. We also played the heck outta TMNT 2 The Arcade Game for NES. That being said....all of you guys gotta admit,Tora was the sweetest boss ever! Btw,I apologize in advance for the insane babbling that was that post, but it brought back good memories! :D |

Holy guacamole! I was addicted to those things! Everytime we went to the store my Mom would buy them for my sister and I. They did taste alittle like the new pizza pringles, but the consistancy was way different. Now if there were pizza cheetos...
|
Hah I still have an emptied out bag of these crunchabungas somewhere....but where?? I don't remember if I liked them or not though..

Once again, I was bored and went over the internet to recreate a recipe for this. It will probably work, it's a mix of corn chip recipe and pizza flavored powder (made with some different ingriedients). Here's the recipe if you want to try it out. Again, I slapped different things together and didn't modify much. Try it out. Let me know how it came out.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Pizza Crunchabungas Ingredients for Corn Snacks Parchment paper 1/4 cup plus 1 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 1/2 cup white cornmeal 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1-1/2 teaspoon sugar 1-1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 egg 3/4 cup milk Ingredients for Pizza Flavor 2 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon italian herb seasoning 1 teaspoon paprika 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 dash pepper Preheat oven to 425°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Brush with melted butter, reserving extra butter. In a bowl, mix parmesan cheese, garlic powder, italian seasoning, paprika, salt and pepper. Mix pizza flavor, cornmeal, salt, sugar and baking powder together in a bowl. Beat egg and milk in another bowl. Stir into dry ingredients until batter is smooth. Stir in 2-1/2 tablespoons of reserved melted butter, reserving the rest of the butter. Use a tablespoon and scoop corn snack mixture onto prepared parchment paper. Do this bit by bit. Bake 10-12 minutes, until browned. Brush with remaining butter and cool on wire rack. If you want to make it look more like a pizza, you can use a spoon and shape it into a semi honey shape, then poke holes in it with a chop stick. About five holes in each, but this is optional. |
The last time I remember eating those was a time after I had stitches put into my chin after falling off of my bike. I have a distinct memory of this, because it hurt like a mother to chew the little buggers.
|
Never saw those....I got some of THESE still though :-)

Hmm, never seen it before. Though I'm not much of a fan of crackers myself, I'd buy it just for the packet! But that's assuming it's still on sale -which it probably isn't. :ohwell:
