I want extras with commercials! And commentary and stuff. *goes to pray to the tmnt god*

|
Wow, I can't wait to see all of those episodes again! This is very exciting news. For extras, I wish they'd include things like the "Turtle Tips" or even concept art (if any of it still exists). Thanks for sharing the info, spit.
|
I can't wait!!! Seriously, I'm so looking forward to seeing this in Best Buy at the end of April. :D
|

Yeah weapon x, I remember that Teenagers from Dimension X played on Christmas Eve, but I didn't know it was the first airing that I saw. That list of dates looks much more accurate. Still odd how Return of the Technodrome wasn't aired last.

No way if that's the cover art I would freak. that is awesome. This news is also up at TVshowonDVD.com here: http://tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=2808
They say even DVDempire.com has it up so I'm guessing it's official now? Rock on, I love the company who is releasing them. They deserve more of my money, what else do they produce? Lol. |
Artisan is putting them out ^_^
Thanks for posting that Kazari! That does look awesome! I wonder if that means Don and Raph will be on the Season 3 box art Speaking of... The first Season came out 4-20-2004 This new one comes out 4-26-2005 So I guess we can expect Season 3 sometime April '06 How many seasons of the orgnial show are there? Maybe they will start putting out the seasons faster if there are alot. One a year might take awhile |
Don and Raph are on the back cover... I like this art much better than season 1!
|
I hope they are! How do you know if Don and Raph are on the back?
|
That cover art is freaking awsome god I cant wait till April now, nice find. I really hope they keep doing it in this style it'show they should have done season one,but ten again I'm not exactly dissapointed with season one. :)

There were ten seasons, with four episodes from the final season already released alongside the episodes from Season One. |
I wouldn't consider the cover art that great but it is indeed better than the featured art for Season One's release.
|
At first I thought that cover art was terrible with the weird orange background, but when I enlarged the picture (I first saw this on dvd empire) it doesn't actually look too bad, the only beef I have with it is that it looks like a combination of the new style turtles and the old ones. Like they took the new style turtles and added the older colors. Their heads are a bit too small, but that's just the perfectionist in me speaking. This dvd is going to be AMAZING especially if they keep with the full season sets! Doesn't matter if they're out of order since there's really no ongoing story most of the time, but just to have them all together as part of a season is great.
|
The cover of season one never bothered me and I really like this one, so I can't wait to pick them both up when I'm in the US this summer. I have 'em on VHS but I hate VHS :P

http://www.dvdtoons.com/news/722 This website shows both the front and back cover, and even the spine. anarchistguy: interesting..I didn't even realize that. Well, what do you think they took the back cover art from? |
Cool and I didn't even think to go there.

I wonder why they couldn't have come up with something original. :ohwell:
|
wow, good observations, I would have never noticed. The most obvious one to me is probably Mike because I have seen that pic around.
|
Well blame the guy they hired to draw it because Im sure they let him do what he wanted

The Season 1 DVD had the TMNT looking a little TOO "happy and goofy" looking. This Season 2 cover makes them look a bit more serious, so an 8 year old watching TMNT on Cartoon Network will be interested in seeing the old series based on the cover art. It's all marketing. Why do you think the back of the Season 1 DVD had the first two lines of the new show theme song? They're trying to get the kids watching the new TMNT today, to buy the old toon DVDs. |
Season Two is pretty damn thrilling to an extent, so the serious look of the cover is a neccesity either way

That's the whole reason the art of the DVD mimics the new toons art. They're not only trying to get older fans to buy the DVD for nostalgia, but they want to target to kids as well. They probably realized the mistake in making the TMNT look too "happy" on the Season 1 boxart. |
As long as it's coming out it doesn't matter to me. I'll be watching the episodes not the cover art. :D
|
Not bad for the box art. Definetely better than the first season but I still don't understand why they couldn't just use some of the good art they had. The artist ho drew this was pretty lame. Honestly, there are better artists than that, especially ones that don't have to trace over curent illustrations  Anyway, I'll stil pick this up but I don't understand why the majority of 80's cartoon have the cheapest, least imaginative art. it was the best decade for cartoon and they can't come up with anything better? Don't get it.
