A New Legend Is Born!!!
Hello folks, Tetsu Deinonychus, here (though I may be known as ヴァルキリ by the time you read this). I'd like to announce that this marks my 2500th post!
That means I now have official "Legendary" status on the Technodrome! :D :) :D :) Legendary status means nothing (other than "I have no life"), but damn ain't it cool! 8) |
Congrats dear ヴァルキリ!!!
For your present, I'll hook you up with a WCW theme of your choice! ...That's the best I can offer :( |
Well, let me be the second to congratulate you! :D
*raises a bottle of whisky in a brown paper bag* Here's to another 2500! |
Great, now two people with ???? for a name.
|
Matt, you know, to see their true names, which are as legible as ??? (so it actually doesn't matter), all you have to do is install some language pack, restart your computer, fly to the moon while balancing an egg on your nose, fart in excitement twice and last but not least: Speak japanese (which is porbably the least likely thing I will do just to read a name).
|
Hey, congrats on your postcount, ヴァルキリ!
*gives ヴァルキリ a mango of congratulations* :mango: |
Copycat! Only I can have the question mark/boxes name! :x
|
Congrabs, Tetsu... or the artist formerly known as.
Also, I think I've grown kind of fond of the ???s and whatnot. If only because Ai's avatar looks like a big ol' :-? as evidenced here: http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/7869/wtf7om.jpg :-? :-? :-? |
Congrats, dude! Very impressive. Yeah… impressive. :tparty:
Is there cake? |
I think I shall hereby be known as the Artist formally known as GK.
Or you can just call me "The Artist". |

In case you're wondering Ai's name is read as "Takahashi Ai", and my name is read as "Varukiri" which, is just the Japanese transliteration of "Valkyrie". |

The question marks though, they amuse me to no end. |
So, if your name means Valkyrie... then why the heck don't you just call yourself "Valkyrie"? I mean, my name means Anarky and, guess what, I call myself Anarky. I don't want anyone to have to get a new computer with Koizumi's signature on Mars just to read some names.
|
Congratulations, Tetsu.
I'm getting there. Legendary status is like getting your own Hollywood Star around here.:D |

I was watching Macross II the other day and I REALLY liked the way the word was pronounced in Japanese (Va-ru-ki-ri). ALOT more than I ever liked the word before. So, I thought I'd use that as my name for a few months. Non-Japanese words, in Japanese, are usually written in Katakana symbols, so that's what I did. Quote:

Did anyone ever think what names are for? They are there to refer to somebody or something. Funnily, when I say "Scribble said, that..." noone gets who I'm talking about and I honestly don't want to copypaste a name just to talk to a person. We have 26 nice letters (here, we even have 29 - ä,ö,ü included), why can't we use them? I mean, my screenname I had before Anarky had an ä in it. Guess, why I didn't take that name here...
And besides, being able to see a name properly doesn't necessarily mean that one can read it. And no, I don't think the Kanji- or Katakananames are funny or a good idea. |

Just ask them then! It's only two people thus far (And no, I wasn't really going to change my name to Sakura, it's just one of the few things I can spell in japanese.) and we know what their names are at this point. I still plan on calling ヴァルキリ Tetsu, and I've always called 高橋愛, Ai. It's just a silly name, it puts a smile on their face I say just leave 'em be :)
lmao... and yes "Thingybob said" works also  ...We need a "Thingybob" here. |
I changed it because I got tired of looking at my name in the romanji format. Is that a problem? Go ahead and call me Ai, I don't care. It's easier that way.
Geez, you're whiney when it comes to stuff like this. |
??????? ?????? ??? ?????? ????? ??????? ??????????????? ?????? ??? ???? ???? ?

Anyways, it's not about me or anyone else who is a member of the drome right now, but I can expect it to be hella difficult for new members, those who don't know you, those who also have no idea about kanji. Quote:

So Tetsu, I'm guessing this means you don't want any WCW themes? |
I'm not sure what can top "The Man Called Sting", but if there is another like it. Hook me up.
|
Umm, I'm lost
|
Congrats on the Legendary status. :)
And whether or not you've got question marks or boxes, it all really means you've got a name common Americans wouldn't bother try to pronounce let alone translate. |

'... the Hell...?' :P |
 In honor of Tetsu's post count, name change, and my way of getting in on the name changes, I am changing my title (for one week) to Irish. Have fun figuring it out..

Something with a woman at the sea, isn't it?
EDIT: Ha, I think I've got it (books are a great inbvention). The woman at the sea. Literally it would be "The woman besides the sea". EDIT #2: It's gaelic, by the way. :D |
Congratulations on the post count, Tetsu!
And about the names, it's really not that big of a deal, especially since they both have something in their signatures that you can call them by (and if new members still don't know what to call them, they can always ask like GK said). With that in mind, it's their decision how they want to write their names. I could call myself Krang or kRanG or KRANG or クラング and it wouldn't really matter due to the reasons above. |
