April and the Turtles...

I'm wondering if April will be meeting the guys for the first time again but this time like it happened in the comics or do they already know each other and maybe just have a flashback sequence? Has Mirage answered this question about the new cartoon? I can't remember if they have or not.

You know, a flashback sequence would be rather interesting. They could have April writing it in her journal and she narrates the events as we see them happen.

Karpo_007 12-12-2002 07:40 AM

It will probably be like in the comics. The TMNT saves her from mousers.

R-iZZy 12-12-2002 07:56 AM

ergh... i hate mousers!

Jephael 12-12-2002 04:01 PM

It might not happen the exact same way it happened in the comics, otherwise it wouldn't be as fun for the long-time fans to expect a new twist on the series.

Karpo_007 12-12-2002 04:07 PM

First episode has mousers, Baxter is in it, and April is his assintent. What are the odds?

Tokka-B 12-12-2002 05:52 PM

true, true....he has a good point

Aztec General 12-12-2002 07:19 PM

Laird actually said that April will start off as the "classic damsel in distress". So I'm guessing Mouser trouble.

Karpo_007 12-13-2002 05:52 AM

Well That's what I have been thinking all the time. I doubt they will change that.

MzTheInsomniac 12-13-2002 03:29 PM

i wana see the turtles bash the mousers too

R-iZZy 12-13-2002 05:09 PM

i just want to see the ninja turtles... PERIOD!

Karpo_007 12-14-2002 05:19 AM

Well there was nothing Ninja about them in the old cartoon, Maybe we will see some this time.

Jephael 12-14-2002 08:51 PM

Actually, I think they kinda switched over to karate or Martial Arts in the old toon. It was more of a low-key version of ninjitsu, as is my understanding.

Karpo_007 12-15-2002 01:35 AM

Well there weren really any martial arts after the first season. The fights went slapstick. Well in 1993 season they are getting them back, but I heard that they get very good in red sky. 3 eps to go before i get there...

Lanagirl 12-15-2002 02:25 AM

who knows the ending of Mirage comics story

By the way, i have never read how the story about TMNT ends in Mirage comics. What happens to Shredder and turtles?

Karpo_007 12-15-2002 06:15 AM

In short, Shredder came back in Leonardo one shot, Beat Leo half to dead, and in issue #10 attacked april's appartment. The TMNT retreated to Casey Jone's farm house, where they lived a year. Then Raphael Decided it was time to go back, And went to New York, after few days the others followed. They attacked the foot Headquarters, fought with Shredder Clones, and The Leo had a duel with the Most original Like clone and won. The Return to New York ends with Shredder's Funeral in Viking style.

Sparvid 12-15-2002 06:57 AM

City at War is the continuation of the Foot story, dealing what happened to the Foot soldiers, and Shredder Elite, and so on...
And the Mirage stories are not over yet :)

Karpo_007 12-15-2002 07:26 AM

Yeah. And hopefully will continue for many years.

They NEVER used ninjutsu (<< correct spelling) in the old cartoon. It was always some form of generic karate. Ninjutsu was actually used in the Mirage books (at least the ones by Laird and Eastman). I could tell from some of the movements the Turtles did that the Big Two had done a little research.....

shredder's funeral

:( :goofygri: It sounds awful. How do you think how they will finish the show? Will they risk to kill Saki?

Karpo_007 12-16-2002 12:48 AM

Probably not, It's a childrens cartoon after all.

Lanagirl 12-16-2002 06:19 AM

i wonder if the Rat king is involved

If the rat king is in comics he might be involved
:)
By the way Karpo i have just noticed you're from Finland. I always dreamt to visit Finland,i just adore it. My grandmother knows your language very well, but for me it's too hard
i'll try my best though

Karpo_007 12-16-2002 07:21 AM

im from the u.s. and even though i kow engish i heard it is still one of te hardest languages to learn

Tokka-B 12-16-2002 06:28 PM

English actually is a really hard language, I learned it when I was like 10...

It was quite aggravating...finally got used to it though...then I come to the U.S and there are so many different accents and meanings to words it all gets confusing....me confused poor head.... :(

Nturtle 12-16-2002 09:28 PM

Hopefully Ratking will be back, I guess he won't be AS complete of a screwball as he was before, but oh well

Karpo_007 12-16-2002 11:48 PM

English is the easiest language to learn... :sweatdro:

Tokka-B 12-17-2002 01:24 PM

Only to people who learn it as their first language or to people who have a harder language as their first...it is especially hard if you learn it late in your life... :goofygri:

Karpo_007 12-17-2002 01:31 PM

Well they started teavhing here in third grade, so I was 8 years old. It is much easier than Swedish for example, wich we have to study too...

Tokka-B 12-17-2002 01:33 PM

It probably is...

HorseTechie 12-17-2002 01:55 PM

Hah.. yeah.. I think the younger one starts learning other langugaes, teh easier. Right now, I'm trying to learn Korean.. and it just isn;t coming as easily to me as the Japanese and the Spanish a few years back. But then... if you don't use it, you forget it. :dead: I can barely carry on a logical converstaion in either now.

But anyways... weren't we talking about new TMNT stuffs here, or am I gonna have to split the thread again?

Sparvid 12-17-2002 02:28 PM

Yep, I'm betting swedish is pretty hard to learn if you're new to it... :)

Tokka-B 12-17-2002 02:43 PM

And this was said by a Swedish person....!

Karpo_007 12-17-2002 02:48 PM

Ok back to the topic... And it was: April and the Turtles.

In the comic the TMNT move in with April after Splinter vanishes. But this time it's going to happen in First episode, So will the TMNT move? Probably not because Playmates is releasing a Sewer Play set. And that is the way I don't want toy company to affect the show... Of course this is all speculating.

heretic888 12-18-2002 10:26 PM

hmmm

i guess we'll found out february 8......

xZAOx 12-19-2002 12:39 AM

heres a question thats always baffled me...in the very first comics, just how in the hell does baxter get away? they get into his place, where he sets the auto-destruct, and traps them all in. then raphael (i think) knocks him unconscious (sp?). later on in the issue, they talk about him getting away...where did i miss that?

Karpo_007 12-19-2002 03:27 AM

I don' know, Must be a lucky guy!

Kali 12-19-2002 10:01 AM

Baxter's a genius. Geniuses ALWAYS have a plan of escape. Especially when they've built a self destruct device into their lab. They foresee these things.

Tokka-B 12-19-2002 01:45 PM

You really think that?? :o

HorseTechie 12-19-2002 05:54 PM

Yeah! Mad scientists are usually like that. :D
