Naughty humor in the original TMNT cartoon

I realize the danger of this thread getting dirty, but I thought of one incident where a naughty joke was sneaked into a TMNT cartoon. Namely, the one where a magician puts on a performance at a museum, where the lights go out suddenly during his act, and they come back on with the magician tied up and a diamond stolen, and the magician turns out to be part of a group of gangsters behind the diamond's theft. In the museum basement, the gangsters suddenly encounter the Rat King, who announces himself, and one of the gangsters mockingly picks up a rat and replies, "And which one of these little beauties is the Rat Queen, bandage-face?"

Are there any other similarly wicked jokes in the rest of the series?

Raakone 01-20-2006 10:42 PM

Look to episode 2....

"Go Suck a Lemon" could have double entendres, don't you think?

Type 97 Chi-ha 01-21-2006 12:14 AM

Zack actually did tell Krang, "Go suck an egg!" during the episode when he was kidnapped and brought to the Technodrome.

Coola Yagami 01-21-2006 12:18 AM

just one line..

'Irma... I need you!' and her reaction.

Turtle Dove 01-21-2006 12:35 AM

 I need to pay more attention to the dirty jokes. What about Don's "See that stupidenous dish?" Irma blushs big time an thanking Dontello. And the fact Don's like"Heh-not you Irma.."

On my note, if Don said that and he didn't mean me, I'd smack him. Then I'd run to Raph and dump Don

Well, hopefully you're not like Irma.

hheheh, the turtles cartoon do have a few perks and surprises in their humor, which i find funnier than most cartoons for kids. Can't think of anymore ones under that category though.

Vicky82 01-22-2006 01:10 PM

In the red sky seasons I think its season 10 but can't remember what episode it is but April says 'Those turtles have more energy than that battery powered rabbit':o

Masked Ninja 01-22-2006 01:17 PM

...How is that naughty? She's referring to the Energizer bunny. But they probably couldn't use brand names.

Mr. Stay Puft 01-22-2006 04:14 PM

How about in "Turtle Tracks", when April asks for a slice of the sausage and banana pizza?

Coola Yagami 01-22-2006 06:25 PM

Not neccesarily naughty, but in the 'Pizza by the Shred' episode, Mikey delivered a pizza to a pregant woman. How rare was it to actually see pregnant women in cartoons back then?

OA 01-23-2006 06:02 AM

I dont know if being prenant is neccessarily naughty either...and as far as how "rare" it was to see a preg women back then, think about how rare it is now...i mean, preganant women in general don't often make it on any cartoon series, back then or now...

Shreddette 01-23-2006 11:54 AM

I think Vernon and Burns getting tied up and having their feet tickled was a little wierd and gross when I was a kid, as it is a kinky act.

Yes, I was once a prude.

Speaking of that. That blondie was always in his office and wearing a skimmpy dress. Those 2 where alwas in that dang office-thats the biggest "Sexually suggested"thing I seen on that cartoon. Other then the lusty behavior the turtles gave April when she was dressed up all pretty. IT's funny that Irma didn't do the same thing, the turtles be all over her too.

What I don't get is she walks down there just to show off then leaves. She's one heck of something isn't she? :-P She must of did it on purpose to get some "Attention"

Yeah, "Burns Blues" episode was rather kinky... overall:o

Jephael 01-23-2006 02:36 PM

I don't think any of those things were as riskque as the time in Enter the Rat King when Irma got chewed out by Vernon after April's kidnapping and then exclaimed under her breathe that she's glad she wasn't a member of the opposite sex. She just blurted it right out just as the turtles grabbered her attention.

BigApple3AM 01-24-2006 06:34 PM

No offense but so far I haven't heard anything naughty. You can interpret things any way you like, but none of these have even been suggestive. Sausage and banana pizza, c'mon man.

You people are reading too much into these things, once upon a time, far far away and long ago, people didn't have a sexual connotation for EVERY SINGLE FREAKING WORD.

Family Guy

And for the most part i agree w/ Ectocooler. Except for the first season April's boobs did jiggle which definitely beats anything anyone else mentioned.

BigApple3AM 01-24-2006 08:20 PM

We're being hit with preggo fever. We got the very first pregnant woman action figure in the ROTS star wars toy line, padme.

Yeah April's boobs were pretty out there, that's probably one of the few intentional insinuations. I don't know why they did it though.

I find that strangly humorous....but that's probably refering to the energizer bunny.

Not to mention all of April's ass-shots... especially since her ass was rather... ass-shot-worthy...

oh for the love of--this thread is just for fun, no one here is actually taking this seriously. Just relax and enjoy it, and don't burst every ones bubble with censure...

Well any way

what a funny thread lol:lol: I really have picked up on some double meaning behind some of the dialougue in this series.

I think some one already mentioned this but that time when Nurnes asked April what she was doing in the office, and then April turns around and asks him what what he is doing late at night in his office. And his girlfriend says "tell her snuckums" in a suggestive manner, and Burnes gets all flustered and embarrassed by it.

Or in the Old Switcharoo when Michaelangelo tells April to jump into his arms and they end up sprawled on the floor and he says "wow you know I really dig going around with ya"

Or my absalute favorite is the one where Donatello is tyed up by a twisted mad scienctist and the scitist starts berating a lab monkey and the scientist goes:

Scientisist: Oh, Bad monkey!, Bad Monkey!

to which Donatello replies:

Donatello: your not planning to spank him are you?

now thats innuendo pretty damn naughty and suggestive wouldn't you say? it is why its in my sig:lol:

mod edit: censor bypassing is an automatic warning.

I wasn't referring to the size of her boobs, although she was gifted by God, i was referring to the fact that at one point in the the show they literally jiggled.

Drtooth 01-30-2006 01:11 PM

I thought it was kind of risque for Burns to have arm candy in Return of the Shredder. Plus, Irma's (ahem) beastial relationship with the Turtles. I think that one pushed an envelope or something.

Sage Ninja 02-06-2006 02:00 AM

I really think that Donatello had a secret crush on Irma, he was the only one that didn't fall under that love potion spell that the other turtles where under and fell for Irma. And you know what? I think he knew Irma had a thing for him and he teased her about it LOL. That whole "Irma I need you" moment comes to mind. I think Donatello was the most deviant of the turtles.:o

Ninja Tiptup 02-06-2006 04:40 AM

Liking Don I have a hard time bringing this up but how about theme song inuendo...

"Donatello DOES machines" seriously though... What do you even call that act of impurity?

Technophilia?

God, I've always wondered why it had to be "DOES" instead of more more logical, simpler and purer "MAKES". Both words are one-syllable so in this case, the melody wasn't a problem at all :dead:

Kingpin 02-06-2006 07:36 AM

Donatello and Irma? Geeks attract?

Can't say the idea comes as a huge surprise, out of the lot of them Don is probably the most repressed... romance wise I mean, he's spending most of the time building machines...

BlueSonnet 02-06-2006 02:22 PM

A fair while since i watched the old series. But i wouldn't be surprised though. Fairly common for the creators to squeeze in the odd lewd joke. For example I'm sure you've all seen the Rainbow show vid; those peeps did it all the time back in the day.

Wouldn't be surprised if some loon tried to analyse TMNT in deep Freudian terms but that's a bit above me for the time being.

"You see that stupendous dish"

"Donatellos' Degree" is one of the best Don/Irma episodes out there, they act like a tight couple for the betterment of Dons' rep, and play off each other like best freinds, then theres' "Super Irma", where Don tags Irma in the dress with a homing device then stares at her ass for a good ten seconds.

BigApple3AM 02-06-2006 07:33 PM

I must be out of the loop, but what does "dish" mean in that phrase. It's obviously an innuendo but I'm unsure what it means as I've never heard anything referred to as a dish besides that of a plate.

"Dish" simply means "face" in this context. Rather a quaint expression, but I've heard it used that way.

NightwatchersOnlygirl 02-07-2006 07:16 AM

Haha I got what you meant ...I think unless I have a really naughty mind...

I like the eppy with princess Mallory. When April dresses up for the ball the guys go completely gaga over her.

Oh my gosh i rember this episode, Donatello wicked manipulates Irma into helping him, by dangling eligiable men in fromt of her. It was classic, Donatello was so always toying with Irma all the time, Irma was so easy to mess around with to. I thought it said allot that he spicifically wanted her to get his degree and no one else would do LOL. I believe that this was the same episode that he makes the comment about the naughty monkeys and the spanking.

In the Super Irma episode when tags her she is wearing this skin tight outfit, and he lifts up her cape in order to plant the devise on the under side of the cape. I remember thinking back then, "why did he have to lift her cape, couldn't he have planted it on the front side?" I guess he was taking advantage of that skimpy outfit she was wearing.;) And also how the hack didn't Irma feel him messing around with her cape like that, huh LOL:lol:

Coola Yagami 02-15-2006 06:53 AM

Irma probably did notice, but pretended not to, in hopes that she'd get felt up by her favorite turtle.

There was an ep of JLU in which while all the heroes were fighting Booster Gold helped a woman deliver her baby.

Plus there was the issue of the Archie TMNT series in which Don and Splinter helped a pregnant woman deliver her child, the next Dahli Lama.

As for naughty humour in TMNTOS:

Well there was that ep where Leo, Mike, and Raph almost married Irma.
Oh and the only reason Don doesn't fall for Irma is cuz he never ate any of the pizza that had the love potion on it. :P

My fave part in that ep is when Leo, Mike, and Raph are litterally fighting over Irma in the lair and Splinter comes in wondering what the heck is going on.

Donatello: "They're in love...."
*Splinter's eyes light up with joy*: "That is good!"
Donatello: "With the same woman...."
*Splinter now looks sad*: "Oh...that is bad..."

Before Irma met Splinter she thought his name sounded sexy.

Through most of the episode, he looked more...sad than jealous that his brothers were all infautuated with Irma, Don is a very restrained character emotionally, which we saw finally unleashed in "Night of the Dark Turtle" with his murderous intentions towards Shredder.

...And is it me, or does "Turtle Turncoat" hint at the same thing I often do in this series? That Mickey and April had a "thing" going on in the series? (I know "Turncoat" actually teases a kiss between April and Casey earlier in the story, but Raphs' line to Mickey that April would never be interested in someone "like you" fitted in strongly with certain episodes I've seen of the series.)

More that Mikey had a crush on April than both of them had an actual "thing".
