TMNT Volume 4

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...TMNTVol4Ad.jpg
Ahh the perks of working in the in the stores video department..the "Hot Sheet", the video buyers guide...and here's the TMNT volume 4 ad. Look how they market the DVD...see the great lengths they use to pimp their products. and heck, discuss the new volume. :D

Spitfire 03-05-2006 09:55 PM

I like how it says 14.98 in the ad and on the DVD box it says 11.75...I see they go to great lengths to use stock photos they already used before. Just like the new toon DVDs eh?

Thanks for posting now i know when it comes out.

Jester 03-05-2006 10:06 PM

Yeah, I always find DVDs cheaper than they appear here.

Sewer Bull 03-06-2006 03:09 AM

Why the cheesy look... God why... :|

Duke 03-06-2006 01:32 PM

Well atleast we now have a release date but that cover art is awful.

TVShowsonDVD.com released this news last month.

Here's the proposed art for the back.

Buslady 03-06-2006 07:31 PM

I laugh cause they think a special feature is "full screen" ; "surround sound" and " enhanced for superior quality"

Sure, 400,000 boys but ya know, there are some girls who like TMNT...

Weapon X 03-06-2006 07:49 PM

I will never understand why they stopped using the cover art style of the first volume, it was perfect, it represented the original toon and was even the kind used on the old VHS box's, but instead they use these stupid new toon stock photos with the the only difference being that they have pupils and belt buckles, I mean for god sakes their taking the Don pic from the front of volume three and enlarging it to a giant face, it's freaking ridiculous.

As for special features, get the damn PSA"s, since they started around '90 which was the fourth season, Lions Gate should wise up, and hopefully their still around.

Gary 03-06-2006 08:20 PM

Does "Packaging that will pop off the shelves in Neon Red" really appeal to store owners?

TheShowstoppa 03-06-2006 08:23 PM

Ya know, I don't care about anything that has to do with cover art work, etc. I get to finally see the Casey Jones ep! I had not seen this ep even when I was younger. I'm freakin pumped about this. Let's get this DVD out already. I just wish they'd do this every 2 - 4 months. I hope they don't wait every 8 months, then another 4 like they did last year.

I'm excited about that one too, I haven't seen it since I was little, also Four Musketurtles.

Jester 03-06-2006 10:28 PM

Though I have it on VHS I'm waiting with bated breath for "Cowabunga, Shredhead!"

Deathknight 03-06-2006 10:35 PM

Haha, I love how the boxart is just a closeup of Leonardo's face from the art on volume 2.

Spitfire 03-06-2006 11:06 PM

I downloaded the whole series on my PC ^_^ So I can watch any episodes anytime. There's alota good old ones. One of my favorites being "Night Of The Rogues"

Think they might release the unaired/lost episodes?

Were there any?

Weapon X 03-07-2006 06:37 AM

Yeah, I know there was apparently an episode that never got passed script form, but what went unaired?

Spitfire 03-07-2006 03:34 PM

Putrescent suggested I watch "Night Of The Rogues" and in it is the character Scum-bug. In the begining of the episode Shredder says "You couldn't forget your old pals..." Then Scum-bug says "Old Scum-bug is itching for a peice of you turtles too" Also Putrescent mentioned seeing an animation cel oh Wyrm who was in the toy line but never in the show. So this leads me to believe there was an unaired episode starring Scum-bug and Wyrm.

Sewer Bull 03-07-2006 03:52 PM

Couldn't be just a reference to the Archie comics... maybe?

Foot Soldier 03-07-2006 04:10 PM

Nice

I can't wait to see the Case Jones ep

nope sewer bull trust me I know what I saw....I can tell the differance between Chris Allens work and the animation from the cartoon ;)
there is a lost episode with wyrm and scumbug in the old toon somewhere...
they even used the animation clip in the comercial for the toys of said characters. If only I could find those old tmnt commercials.

Weapon X 03-07-2006 05:03 PM

The whole Scumbug and Wyrm thing is crazy.

They both appeared in Archie Comics in '90, Scumbug was mad by Playmates in '90, Wyrm was made in '91, looking very different from the comic version, Scumbug appears on the toon in '93 looking like his action figure, and i have also saw and animated version of Wyrm looking like his '91 action figure.

Weird.

As for Lions Gate hurrying up, might as well stop the complaining, not having the old toon in season box sets is stupid, but they kind of are themselves.

yes I agree with both of you guys. I just feel it's really stupid though. I'll still buy it.

Maybe that's the famous #76?

Methinks #76 exposed the whole truth about Masonry and Illuminati. And Wyrm for that matter. That's why it is lost now.

I remember people saying that the European vacation episodes were lost, because after "Plan Six From Outer Space" Mike tells Splinter and his brother they one a vacation to Europe, these episodes never aired till '93.

Sewer Bull 03-07-2006 05:24 PM

Numbering-schnumbering. I've heard that explanation before.

why do you think it's crazy? crazy in like crazy it never aired or your theory is crazy you wack bag Putrescent!
yes both looked very differnt as toys....
I'm very glad I'm not the only one who saw this animation of scumbug and wyrm clips taken from some wierd show or something....it had clips of scumbug, wyrm, slash, triceratons, and mutagen man!
all of those guys had been on the show besides Wyrm perhaps the episode was to nasty....I remember him saying somthing about sucking or drinking there blood or something in the comercial...I remember when seeing this comercial as a kid being ultra stoked.....perhaps there really are more lost episodes of this wonderfull old show than we think!
and yes they do need to speed it up....but oh well slow and steady wins the race I guess lol

Just all the time and differences.

Reminds me of Toy Biz's "Talking Marvel" figures from '91, where Venom spouted the line "I want to eat your brain!"

yea it's very odd I think though for scumbug and wyrm the reason was that they had two differnt artists draw them and thats why the archie comics and the toon/toy ones look so differt.
yea I remember that venom incedent lol
and it wont take you long to get if you do the thing we aren't allowed to talk about here on the drome

Weapon X 03-07-2006 05:56 PM

Ohhh I know, I just never really tried. :)

Duke 03-07-2006 06:18 PM

I'm pretty sure putting spoiler tags around it is still talking about it.

cowabunga14 03-07-2006 06:49 PM

I'm glad we got info on this and it'll probably be about ten bucks at Best Buy. I just hope the back of the box isn't white like the ad shows cuz that looks ugly to me and the past DVDs usually had more color on the backround for the back cover. I'm wonderin' if this one'll have previews or not before the main menu on the disc cuz the last one did. I don't really care for 'em and I don't watch 'em after I've already seen 'em. I'll just go directly to the menu so I won't hafta sit through the previews if I haven't watched the whole DVD in one sitting. I hope the Casey Jones episode is good as I anticipate it to be cuz I've never seen it or most of the earlier seasons.

OK, frankly speaking, the idea of "numbering changes" sounds so odd to me that sometimes I like to think of #76 in more "X-Files" scheme.

TheKolkster 04-02-2006 12:28 AM

Since it's the next 12 episodes in the season, then wouldn't these be the ones on Volume 4?

#31 The Ninja Sword of Nowhere
#32 20,000 Leaks Under the City
#33 Take Me to Your Leader
#34 Four Musketurtles
#35 Turtles, Turtles Everywhere
#36 Cowabunga Shredhead
#37 Invasion of the Turtle Snatchers
#38 Camera Bugged
#39 Green With Jealousy
#40 Return of the Fly
#41 Casey Jones: Outlaw Hero
#42 Mutagen Monster

But this dude who reviewed it (I'm guessing he has a Delorean and went ahead to next week and bought it) at amazon.com, has these episodes listed.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...v=glance&n=130

The Old Switcheroo
Attack of the Big MACC
Camera Bugged
The Four Musketurtles
Turtles at the Earth's Core
Beware the Lotus
Take Me to Your Leader
Blast from the Past
Casey Jones - Outlaw Hero
Turtles, Turtles Everywhere
Leatherhead: Terror of the Swamp
Corporate Raiders from Dimension X

And that's not even in order. "Attack of the Big MACC" was on Volume 3. And some of those wont even be released on Volume 5. So I take it the first list I listed will be the Episodes on Volume 4?

gothic_hobbit 04-02-2006 11:28 AM

I sincerely hope that reviewer is wrong... or else lion's gate have made a major f*ck up !

Ecto Jedi 04-02-2006 01:13 PM

(Sigh!) I've long disliked the cover art for these old 'toon DVDs...It's almost as bad as replacing the music and sound effects in the old arcade games on the newer TMNT games. But, whatever -- a collection of classic Ninja Turtles cartoons semi-packaged to look like new ones is better than none at all.

As for the order of the episodes, I wouldn't be suprised at all if those boneheads totally screw up the order, just like the DVDs of the new 'toon.

AquaParade 04-02-2006 03:13 PM

So what episodes are you all looking forward to the most ? and why?

Foot Soldier 04-02-2006 11:08 PM

I hate the new cover too:evil:
i prefer the 1st season cover
