Important TMNT Petition!

Someone is petitioning 4Kids to air the lost season (season 5), and not Fast Forward first.

Sign the bloody thing, people! Make yourself heard!

Sewer Bull 04-22-2006 02:39 PM

Signed, tho' I don't think 4Kids would care at all.

Same here. Would have been nice if those online petitions actually worked...

Sewer Bull 04-22-2006 02:54 PM

Yeah, I signed a few of them in the past, to no avail.

But in this case, this is a rather petty decision to be made by 4Kids, so there's a slim chance they'll take this petition into consideration.

iris 04-22-2006 04:50 PM

Aw, what the heck....

Signed.

Those of you who care about this should make sure to post this on any forum you visit, and have your friends sign it. Nothing for anyone to lose here.

Mecha Cow 04-22-2006 04:57 PM

I doubt it'll have any effect, but it can't hurt to sign. Stupid 4Kids needs to sort this stuff out.

Spitfire 04-22-2006 04:59 PM

I kinda don't care but I'll sign it anyways

Well couple hours ago there were only 30 signatures.

In order for a petition to get signatures, someone has to circulate it. If you want this, then that someone is you.

Ditto. 4 Kids has already promoted the hell outta FF. I doubt they'll stop it now.

creativerealms82 04-22-2006 07:49 PM

Get anyone to air it. I mean Cartoon Network could try to air the Lost season to finally get big ratings with the Turtles. Anyway i will sign and I will send this to Gamefaqs.

Cool. :)

You know, most petitions don't get exactly what they ask for. However, they do call attention to the fact that a bunch of people actually care about this. That can influence future decisions involving this issue, including decisions by other networks on whether they want to air the Lost Season... or even air TMNT at all.

Utrom 04-22-2006 08:15 PM

Although I have never seen an online petition actually produce any results, my absolute disgust at 4Kids for the shoddy way in which they have been treating the turtles is enough for me to sign.

However, the only way we might have an actual chance of reaching 4Kids is to write letters to the company outlining our complaints. Otherwise, the chances of them actually taking us seriously are pretty much nonexistant.

iris 04-22-2006 08:35 PM

Ok... so what's the mailing address? :)

I signed it.:P

I signed it and wrote:

One of the great things about TMNT is its continuity; every story builds on something fans learned in the past. It is imperative to watch every episode of every season to have a more than superficial understanding of what is going on. Therefore, when episodes are shown out of order or left out entirely, the story ceases to make sense. Allowing what is known as a continuous storyline to jerk from the Ninja Tribunal cliffhanger to a completely unrelated story line is a bad move. It just frustrates the fans, and few have a high tolerance level for frustration. It is for this reason that we, the TMNT fans, are requesting that you show the original season five before you show Fast Forward (if it airs at all). There are too many things left open right now. To jump into what is obviously a ratings directed storyline is foolish and even detrimental to the health of the show overall. Because the majority of fans are vocalizing against the decision, it will probably lower the ratings for TMNT. Don't "jump the shark!"

Here's hoping this will do some good!

Zachatello00 04-23-2006 09:15 AM

Somehow, I have a sinking feeling that this would do more harm than good, as most petitions often do. Since most who have signed it have admitted that it's not gonna help anything, why don't we just wait for the lost season on DVD, and give fast forward a chance. You can't anything negative about it until you know it's the piece of garbage you forsee it to be.

Spitfire 04-23-2006 01:24 PM

You do all know they dont even look at these unless theres atleast 1000 people. Then they must consider, cause 1000 isnt enough.

They look, assuming someone writes them a letter along with a printout of the petition.

Individual letters are better.

What really talks is your consumer power.

Bring TMNT forward - but NOT fast forward!

I have contact info...if we get enough support, I'm willing to send this to the head man at 4Kids.....If you guys want me to...

TheShowstoppa 04-23-2006 06:04 PM

Okay... In my travels online, I've noticed that you can sign 1000 different signatures and it really won't matter. (We've tried for YEARS to get the Director's Cut of Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood.) However, due to the success of Freddy Vs. Jason, we soon got the boxset not too long after, which had all the cut scenes in a deleted scenes option.

However, this is about money. They've been marketing this FF for months now, and they're not going to back down. They might look at it, but they'll do what they usually do when they see petitions; They'll throw it aside just like everything else.

The ONLY TV petition I have ever seen work was the one about bringing America's Most Wanted back. However, Fox relented after 10's of thousands of people signed. This petition was done the hard way too! People went door to door to get it signed.

So... if you even remotely think that this will do any good, be my guest. I'm not saying don't do it. By all means, prove me wrong, but I seriously doubt this will do any good since they've already slated the new figs to be released later this year, not to mention that they're just now finishing up The Lost Season, which means it wouldn't necesserily be done for the season premiere in Sept. FF has already been produced and is in the final post production stages. (Basically, animation tweaks, re-recording mixers, and final touches.)

If you get it done, I will bow before you all and I shall never again doubt the online petition.

... But that's a HUGE "if."

Fledermaus 04-23-2006 09:07 PM

They're up to 136 people, last I checked. When was this started? Two days ago?

Anyways, I'll sign it. It'll be interesting to see how many signatures turn up.

Doppleganger 04-23-2006 09:16 PM

Signed it, let's see what happens.

Petitions are really only supportive tools to an advocacy campaign. They are used to show general interest.

Money talks. It's more effective to send them a letter telling them how much money you spend on their merch and how much KDE you happen to own. ;)

Shark 04-23-2006 10:55 PM

Seriously, they should move the show to Adult Swim or Toonami, so it can be as dark as it wants.

Hey, if Adult Swim can get the Gary Coleman show, AND Saved by the Bell, they can get anything.

Gary 04-24-2006 05:56 PM

I like the idea of it airing on cartoon network a lot more than trying to get it put in place of fast forward. Right now i'm excited that I'm going to get a season and a half in one year. I don't care if it airs at all.

Duke 04-24-2006 07:14 PM

I just signed as signature 179. I really don't think this will do anything but I'm at least willing to sign it.

Actually, Kim Possible was recently renewed due to enormous fan petetions.

I don't have anyhting against FF, it's just that it's timing was bad. It would have made more sense to make FF into a direct-to-DVD season, and package it with the figures. That would made even more people buy it, if these awesome looking figures came with "never before seen TMNT episodes", then, season 5 could have gone on as planed unmolested.

TuRtLeTiTaN 04-24-2006 08:10 PM

i signed it i cant stand the way its out of order and leaving it off at a cliff hanger like this

Gary 04-24-2006 08:16 PM

If these wern't 'stand-alone' episodes, I think a petition to air the episodes in order would be more practical.

cowabunga14 04-24-2006 08:42 PM

I signed this a few days ago and I'm thinkin' about signing it again. I just hope 4Kids won't disregard this if they ever see it. They should take this petition seriously or else a lot of the fans will be disappointed.

jeff the cheff 04-24-2006 10:04 PM

I signed it and it felt good, it was like giving a nice **** you to 4kids, and I didn't say anything rude.

Mars-Chan 04-26-2006 10:37 PM

Just signed it, giving it 202 signatures total.

Come on, gang....make this petition ROCK! Let's show 'em what for, eh? :D

CylonsKlingonsDaleksOhMy 04-27-2006 09:16 AM

Signed it for you guys, i'm not bothered but it's just silly to skip an entire season.

Tinuvielsdreams 04-27-2006 01:20 PM

I was 211, there has to be some sort of compromise I would at least like to see them just finish off what they started. Why did they put it on at all...Not that I didn't want to see it but now I am just bitter...:ohwell:

Ecto Jedi 04-27-2006 01:41 PM

I think it's pretty obvious that signing a poorly-crafted online petition won't amount to a damn thing, but I signed it just for kicks. Even if no one ever looks at this thing, the fact that we're getting the "Lost Season" on DVD (regardless of wether or not it actually airs on 4Kids) is something to be happy about. :)
