Calling out for Raph Art!
 

I need your help fellow artists! Some of you may know I love to feature other's Raph artworks on my home page, I save one area of the front page for guest artworks.
My call out is simple, there's a shortage of new Raph art! If you'd like to be featured on the original Raphael Shrine site with your spiffy artwork, I'll feature a new piece(depending how many, or if I get any) every week or two weeks. Then I'll post a band new gallery featuring all guest raph art in the Image Gallery.

I think its a pretty good idea to do things like this. I always liked threads where ppl were asking for something artistic.

And considering all of the amazing artists we have on the drome, I think that we are gonna see alot of pretty good creations !

I actually haven't drawn very many Raph-only pictures; I usually stick him with someone else (usually Mikey, sometimes Leo) to react to. I might just have to come up with something to change that; it'd be fun. :twink:

Mine is coming later tonight, I never drawn any raph before, so it will be a first for me. And I'm using the style I normally use for my Predators, so it should be intersting.

And Katie, that raph rocks ! I love it. But there is one major problem about it ! Where is his friggin helmet ! Shame on you... What will happen if raph falls and knock his head ? :tsick: :P

I know first hand what happens with no helmets...I also know from first hand experience that even WITH a helmet there are no guarantees of survival.

I just suck at drawing helmets. Bikes are easier.

You are so right.
There was a fatality a few weeks ago on the 91w, dude was splitting lanes and a lady pulled infront of him, never seeing him. He laid the bike down but he got caught up in the rear duals of a semi-trailer, sure he had the helmet but it didn't do much for him.

On a happier note, you are all gonna make this the biggest and most bitchin' raph gallery...

Yeah sure, I guess I'll do another one for ya Buslady. Here's the thing though, It won't be given the royal treatment. Meaning, It won't be colored in my realistic style. Sorry, but I have other things that come first like mainly getting my comic book ready for print before the Toronto Comicon.

I need to get back to my turtle roots even if it is for one picture.

Well, here's mine. I liked the roughness the sketch had, so I just colored on top of it. I bet weight lifting is a good place for Raph to work out frustrations.

Oh, and btw, I'm working on a COLOR version of that pic. I've got a few others of our dear Raph in the works, but it may be just a bit longer before they're posted anywhere (they're not qyuite finished yet, PLUS which I'm still worjking on that sandblasted comp of mine, getting stuff clean of the HD. 'Course, it WOULD help if I could just stay HOME dring the week where that's concerned, but I've been down at my fave aunt and uncle's during that time, helping them, and, given the circumstances, I figured that THEY needed my help just a BIT more than I need to draw (if ya wanna know what I mean, just PM me or e-mail me, and I'll give ya the full 411 of the details, k? K.). Anyway, they keep me mega-busy, but it's well worth it, given how much I love them.

*ahem* Anyway, I know how much you love Raph, so I want to sent you some more pics to post soon. Like I said, I'm workin' on things a litle at a time.:lol: :P ;)

It doesn't matter to me WHICH one of these that you use, sys, but the Full View one is a bit on the BIG side, so you MAY have to shrink it down some, if you want. But, like I said, whichever one that YOU want to use is just fine with me. Either way, enjoy.:D ;)

yeah...it doesn't look as red as the original on the screen......oh well...i used some blue over the whole thing to make it shadowy...probably shouldn't have done that.


The best part of the pic I think is that he's holding the sai in a correct position

Yeah the pose is very ''ninjaesque''. The shading on your pic is pretty good too, I just found it funny to see a turtle with a purple bandana messing with something that is not his :roll: :lol:

But overall, a very good drawing, and the fact that you did it with crayolas is even better.

Its just that it really does look like don just took raph's sai to hide it or do someting ''evil'' with it. :P

I like him. :) I need to learn more about accurate weapon-holding poses.
