TMNTOS Character Sheets

It seems to me that two computer crashes ago I had the original TMNT series' official character sheets downloaded from who knows where. It's now several years later and I tried looking everywhere for them. I think it might be the kind of thing that fans aren't supposed to have, but you can find Disney characters sheets easily enough. Does anybody have those files?

GK Punk 08-13-2006 10:00 PM

I'd like these too...

oldmanwinters 08-13-2006 10:04 PM

I downloaded them from a Yahoo! TMNT fan group called "TMNT anime dub" or something like that. I can post some here and PM them to you if you want.

This one is interesting. Notice that "what to avoid" section on drawing the faces. I think the animators messed up on that one a few times...

The lovely April O'Neil.

I love his sheepish "what'd I do?" pose.

Such a cool character!

One action figure just didn't seem like enough!

The many faces of Krang!

GK Punk 08-13-2006 10:09 PM

Please do!

oldmanwinters 08-13-2006 10:12 PM

Sure, check my updated post above!

But could someone please educate me on how to make those links into real pictures?

EDIT: Thanks, Kittie!

And now, the second batch:

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...heets/leo2.jpg
Leonardo leads...

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...eets/pizza.jpg
Donatello does... pizza?!?

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56.../raphpizza.jpg
Raphael is cool but rude... I mean.. crude... err rude.
oh whatever. :P

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...eets/mike2.jpg
And Michaelangelo is a party dude!

For today's lesson, April "models" the character model process (yes, pun intended):

Before

After

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...aprilhead2.jpg
With all wires removed from her head, April is finally ready to go on the air to anchor the Channel 6 Happy Hour News.

Ohayo Kame 08-14-2006 03:02 PM

Hey thanks a lot dude. I totally needed those... Um... yeah.

So is that it? No Rocksteady, Shredder, etc.?

The Turtles were actually the most important, so thanks again.

oldmanwinters 08-14-2006 03:57 PM

Don't worry, I have more.

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...eets/rock1.jpg

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...eets/rock2.jpg

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...s/rockmood.jpg
Those are some classic expressions.

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...ets/shred2.jpg

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...ets/shred3.jpg

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...s/shred1-1.jpg
I love that "I'll get you next time, Turtles!" pose with his fists clenched.

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56.../shredmood.jpg
Shredder's got some crafty eyes, he does.

VaughnMichael 08-14-2006 09:12 PM

wow those are sooooo freaking cool are there any more oldmanwinters? I'd love to see some of other characters like Lord Dregg, Mung, Rat King, etc.

oldmanwinters 08-14-2006 09:44 PM

I don't have any of those guys, Putrescent,
but here is a generic rock soldier:
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...ocksoldier.jpg

And here are the height comparisons:

VaughnMichael 08-15-2006 01:50 AM

magidkaiser 08-15-2006 02:14 AM

wow i like it very much .thank you man! please if you got vernon pix post it :)

PizzaPower 08-15-2006 09:04 AM

these are really awesome, you don't mind if I use em do you for me site?

oldmanwinters 08-15-2006 03:55 PM

Sure, PizzaPower, feel free to do so. They really aren't mine anyway. Like I said, I got them from a TMNT Yahoo group. I don't know who they really belong to.

Here's an exclusive look at the weapons:
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...s/weapons2.jpg

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...s/weapons1.jpg
It seems they were hardly consistent about what Leo's katanas should be held in. Sometimes just the belt, sometimes partial covers and occasionally a full sword cover.

Ohayo Kame 08-15-2006 10:19 PM

Alright the height comparisons! Those are some more good ones; of course it's also something the animators never paid attention to. Thanks, I probably got them from the same Yahoo Club (before my old computer died) but I also can't remember which one.

oldmanwinters 08-16-2006 11:09 AM

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...ets/krang2.jpg

Krang is even more disgusting when you see him up close and from all angles.
:dead:

oldmanwinters 08-17-2006 10:36 PM

Here's some very cool model sheets for the old Mirage comic style.
Does anyone know if they were from a how-to-draw book or something?

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...eets/comic.jpg
That box with Don reminds me of TMNT #1's opening scene, even though it kinda look like he's hitting a robot.

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...comicheads.jpg
I think the bottom right head looks a lot like the 4Kids' Raph.

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...omicheads2.jpg

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...omicshells.jpg
Nice finish. I'll be they used their Turtle Wax.

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...comichands.jpg
I myself dabble in drawing cartoon characters, but hands seem to be the toughest thing to get right!

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...turtlefeet.jpg
I never knew the Turtles' had a 3rd toe, I just thought it was an oversized heel!

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...comicteeth.jpg
Kind of ironic that the cartoon show model sheets discouraged the animators from letting the turtles show teeth when speaking, doncha think?

Yeah they are, I happen to have that.

Keep them coming, this is really neat.

BigApple3AM 08-18-2006 01:07 AM

I nominate this as the best technodrome thread of the year! This rules, oldmanwinters you sir, rock... hard. :D

VaughnMichael 08-18-2006 01:25 AM

Wow, thanks, Ectocooler [and Putrescent]! It's rare that I get that kind of praise. I'm glad everyone has found these sheets welcome. I still have a few more that I'll post later too.

magidkaiser 08-19-2006 12:50 AM

we like to see splinter and bebop sheets too

oldmanwinters 08-20-2006 02:24 PM

No prob, magidkaiser!

Here's some more Bebop:
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...ets/bebop2.jpg

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...heets/dbed.jpg

And here's the turnaround for Splinter:

Ohayo Kame 08-21-2006 08:16 PM

Good job, keep ‘em coming!

Ultimate Shredder 08-23-2006 05:07 PM

Sweet! Can you post some of baxter and the technodrome?

Ohayo Kame 08-23-2006 05:12 PM

Not to pry, but I see aprilhead1 & aprilhead4, so I'm inclined to believe that there are at least two more of her face.

oldmanwinters 08-23-2006 08:08 PM

Sorry, no baxter or technodrome.
And the Aprilhead files are all posted. Files 3 and 4 are the wireframe turnarounds. Files 1 and 2 are the completed head turnarounds with the lines removed. The way I posted them makes them look like they are two big files so I went back and spaced them to avoid further confusion.

But I do have the rest of Bebop's expressions:
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56.../beboplip1.jpg

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...ts/beblip2.jpg

And here's a simple Michaelangelo pose:
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...eets/mike1.jpg
This must have been before he decided that grappling hooks were more effective than nunchucks for fighting bad guys overseas.

Shredder 08-24-2006 01:16 AM

These are great! I'd love to see more stuff like this for the original show!

Vegita-San 08-24-2006 07:13 AM

Aww man, These will come in VERY handy for perfecting my 3D Character models! The ONLY thing I want to request is a side shot and front shot for Krang and his Android. And if they have them, a Side Shot, profile, and Front Shot of the Technodrome and TRansport Module.

Who posted these, and how in the hell did they get them?

Shredder 08-24-2006 09:50 PM

Good thought- Technodrome shots from various angles (or any concept art of it) would be incredible.

Ecto Jedi 08-24-2006 10:05 PM

Are these the actual materials the old 'toon artists used back in '87 for reference? Or were these drawn later by a very patient and dedicated fan?

Masked Ninja 08-25-2006 06:16 AM

These are freakin' awesome. :thyper: Thanks for sharing, dude.

Vegita-San 08-25-2006 09:32 AM

THe height Comparisons ARE actual artist imagery from the show, I know because one of the Storyboard artists sent them to me. Gee, I wish I still had her contact info...

The others I havn't seen, however.

Ah nuts, someone has been slipping stupid pills into my Zoloft again. Anyway, you know what's been posted and what (if anything) is left. So just do your thing, and accept our thanks.

oldmanwinters 08-30-2006 04:26 PM

Sorry, I've been really busy with my Hebrew homework this week that I'd forgotten all about this:

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...splintmood.jpg

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...plintmood2.jpg

These are some very characteristic expressions from Splinter.

soccerstud652 08-30-2006 04:36 PM

Great stuff! Thanks for the images...!

Duke 08-30-2006 07:50 PM

Awesome thread and images!

oldmanwinters 08-30-2006 11:27 PM

Oops, I forgot to include the other Foot Soldier angle:

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...eets/foot2.jpg

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...smus/foot1.jpg
And here's the one I posted earlier now side-by-side with his twin for comparison.

oldmanwinters 08-31-2006 10:48 PM

The Final Shell Shock...

Allright, this is it: The Big Finale! I wish I had some more toon models like Vernon or the Technodrome, but all I have left is a generic looking Leo:
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...heets/leo1.jpg

Fortunately, I do have 3 more Mirage style profiles of the Turtles themselves:

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56...s/leocomic.jpg

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56.../mikecomic.jpg

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56.../raphcomic.jpg

Some of you may frown since there's no Donatello this time around. This thread has been fun, but now I think it's about done. God bless, folks.
