2105 vs. 2094
Fast Forwards 2105 vs. TMNT Adventure's 2094 (where the future turtles stories take place). One is a technologically-advanced Earth over-run with alien creatures; the other is an ecologically-ravaged Earth over-run with rats.
One has mutant cyber-cats and sharks, the other has devious uncles and warrior eagles. Discuss, compare, and trash. Which version of the future do you like the most. Which do you think had the best characters? |
It may not be the most ideal future, but the future story arcs from the Archie books are among the best TMNT stories ever. This is a no-brainer of a poll.

Batman.
...Errr...I mean ARCHIE. |

Archie all the way.
Sure it's a fraked up world but the turtles have lives either way. Leo is a sensei who has April's great-granddaughter among his students (in the Archie comics April ends up with a fire fighter who transforms into a dragon). Don is rich with his company, Turtle Co., and even created a Stargate er I mean Time Travel machine. Raph is happily married to an anthromorphic fox named Mezcaal (descended from his first GF, Ninjara) and they run a nightclub called Turtle Island. Mike is an artist and spends his time at an orphanage called Gabrielle's.... No Cody, no Dunn, no Jammerhead, no somewhat perfect future timeline. |
Yeah Archie is it!!
I don't care much for "fast backwards".... The future in the adventure series kickes some major shell! So many highllights and weird stuff in it too: Ratking-old and gray haired but still so cool. Maybe even more cool than the younger version. Armagon-steailing Hitler's brain?? Coolest shark ever? Raphael-hooking up with the females.(he must be smooth) And the missing eye too...classic! ....And zombies!!! Superb. Now I'm even more bummed about the latest season... :-? |
Archie, all the way.
For more reasons than I can ever say, and I was no fan of Ninjara, or most of the other anthromorphs. |
Archie for the win.

Archie. I never read the comics but I hate Fast Foward so..

I also remember the TMNT Adventure when Cudley sent them to the 2090's after their first trip to the Stump Asteroid. The town was flooded, and Cudley said that would happen if people didn't care fore the Earth's environment. That flooded town was no good future. |
Yeah no crime and lame old turtles. And that stupid rabit was in it.
Yeah Archie wins. You'd be high to think FF is better, that or never read Archie. |
Do I even have to post to let y'all know how I feel about the subject....

And kids would learn that not everybody in certain relgions are bad when the turtles befriend a mutant muslim Eagle. See the Archie series was ahead of its time with characters like that.... |

I await the day the forever war comes out with much excitement! |
I have never read the TMNT Archie comics. I didn't even know they had a future arc of the story. But it sounds more interesting than FF.
Question why do so many people not like Ninjira the fox girl? |

Downer endings are good storylines, but that one was just stupid |

I never had a strong opinion either way. Archie was and probably still is my favorite TMNT series, just the right blend of action, story, and humor. ;)

I guess Archie. Was that future the one with the cover of that big shark squeezing Leonardo's head? If so that was one of my first comics.

http://www.mycomicshop.com/res/unpro...e/B1042044.jpg I think eventually the Archie comics will become more valuable than the mirage ones. Mainly because nostalgia (kids read archie, adults read mirage when they were new, for the most part) and because archie seemed to copy Marvel's style with the comics. I never had this issue but I thought the cover was very cool: http://www.mycomicshop.com/res/unpro...e/B1042041.jpg |

Really?! Ninjara's showing up in Forever War?! EEEEE!!! *JUAD* ooh.. I wonder if her daughter will be in it too? Not that they need the cuteness factor of a half wolf/half fox but still...would be nice to see Mocha or at least a reference to her. A shame Mokoshen was murdered....meh :ohwell: But yay!! Ninjara in Forever War!!! Goodie Goodie!! They can't have a happy ending for Ninjara and Raph cuz Raph ends up marrying Ninjara's descendent! :P |
I went with Archie. I have never read a comic and I have next to no knowledge about it. Why did I vote for it? Because I've only seen two episodes of Fast Forward, the first one succeding in making me sick, and the other one making me cringe quite a few times, though it did get some laughs out of me.
Also, Archie was the original fondation for the turtles in the future in my eyes. They, from what I gather, were a lot more than just shredding suits and shouting "IT'S NINJA TIME!" at the top of their lungs. Besides, Raph's missing eyeball does things to my fangirly mind :P |
Hmm...for some reason, I thought the results would be less one-sided. Time to defend the unloved.
While I have serious love for both incarnations, I have a feeling Fast Forward will surpass the future turtles once it finishes its story. Nostalgia aside, while Archie's future had a lot going for it, I've discovered on recent readings that it completely lacks anything resembling a coherent story. The Armaggon story, for all its foreshadowing and whatnot, ended dissapointingly with a free-for-all battle, and no resolution on the whole time-slip business. Dreamland, likewise, speeds through the Verminator story to the Hitler story to the Crainiac story somewhat incoherently. In short, it feels unfinished--like a preview to a larger series--plus, I just don't like "good" Verminator in the end. Fast Forward, for all its faults (percieved or otherwise) at least seems to be trying to tell a story (albeit, it seems, an unpopular one). Likewise, it seems more determined to actually develop its world, which the Archie series didn't spend too much time on. In the end, I believe both incarnations have their pros and cons. Archie had ambience, a cool status quo and interesting concepts (Hitler's brain), but lacked a cohesive story; Fast Forward lacks the ambience but has a story to tell. All in all, I still want to see animated Verminator X; I guess I'll have to settle for Torbin Zixx. |
I remember being a lot younger and having read 2 of the future archie story arcs and just being blown away. I loved those 2 issues( Made me real happy when the armour showed up in "Cyber turtles") But anyways, how many issues of the future story arc were there? or archie issues in general?
