Is anyone a fan of the NFL?
The schedule for the playoffs this weekend (wildcard) are: AFC: Chiefs at Colts, 4:30 Saturday Jets at Patriots 1:00 Sunday NFC: Cowboys at Seahawks 8:00 Saturday Giants at Eagles 4:30 Sunday Who does everyone root for, and who do you think is going to win these games? I'm a Patriots fan so I'll root for them in that game. I think it's going to be close, but I think the Patriots can take care of the Jets this weekend |
AFC:
Chiefs/Colts: Chiefs Jets/Patriots: Patriots NFC: Cowboys/Seahawks: Seahawks Giants/Eagles: Eagles I like the New Orleans Saints in this and I hope it comes down to them and San Diego in the Super Bowl. |
I am somewhat NFL fan but my team did not make it...Broncos
|
Im a Bears fan. I get to sit back and watch the playoffs this week, watching who all will advance.
|
The Titans played so hard the last part of the season. Iwould have like to see them make a wild card spot. :( We'll have a great team next year though :)
|
AFC:
Chiefs/Colts: Colts Jets/Patriots: Will be watching the Discovery channel during this game. NFC: Cowboys/Seahawks: Cowboys Giants/Eagles: Eagles |

Vince is a rookie...He'll improve.
I went from sitting in the Colliseum (no, I refuse to say LP field) the first few games with Duct tape over my McNair jersey that read "taking applications" to being shocked and awed at the determination of that guy. I screamed my head off at the Patriots game....but it was all just too much :) next year. |
Yea, Vince is great...i think he'll turn out just fine in a year or two..
I'm also a big Bears fan...thnk god they got home field advantage throughout cause the way they are planning, they need every bit of help they can get... The Saints have been alot of fun of this year...i hope they can make at least to the NFC CHampionship game ( vs the Bears of course) The Colts- very, very disapointing the way they've ended the year...i really do hope they can get thier act together..if anything, just for Peyton I hate the Patriots. 'Nuff said. And Lastly, I really, really like the Chargers this year...I love LT, so I hope they do well as well.. Oh yea, and the Ravens....such a solid team. I'm so happy for Steve. |
Everyone hates the Patriots, even in CT, which is in NE! I still haven't figured that out.
And I'm kinda glad the Colts are falling apart and loosing to not so great teams right now. It just shows that even if you have the best quarterback alive, you can't just depend on one guy and two good recievers to be a great team. Like the expression, theres no I in TEAM. |
They're not falling apart that much...
23 to 8 at the two minute warning. |
Well the Chiefs aren't that great of a team.
I'm reffering more to losses against teams like the texans. |
Yeah, they lost but they weren't stomped. It happens. At least they made it to the playoffs. :D
|
Time to pick the next winners:
AFC: Colts at Ravens: Ravens Patriots at Chargers: Chargers NFC: Seahawks at Bears: Bears Eagles at Saints: Saints |
COLTS COLTS COLTS COLTS. NOt that I'm biased or anything. :D
|
ugh...such a hard choice......the Ravens......which I have a grudge against....or the Colts, who are the Titans rivals......and I hate Peyton Manning with a passion [/angry Alabama fan Tennessee rant]
harrumph. I guess I have to root for the Ravens, though I think the Colts will win |
What a weekend. Colts destroyed the Chiefs and it wasn't even because of Peyton Manning. How about that disapointment for the cowboys? They were all excited about their qb then he blows the game by a not holding the ball right for an easy game-winning field goal. My Patriots won this weekend and played very well so I'm not too scared for next weekend. The Giants almost beat the eagles and Eli didn't even play that bad! I can't wait for next weekend.
AFC: Colts at Ravens: Ravens beat Colts by at least a TD Patriots at Chargers: Best game of the weekend probably. This one is too hard to pick. I wouldn't be suprised either way, but I think the winner of this one will probably go to win the superbowl. But since I'm a pats fan, go patriots! NFC: Seahawks at Bears: This will be a good game and I think the seahawks are more likley to win. Eagles at Saints: Can't wait for this one either. I think the Saints will win |
I know. My grandpa lived in Texas for awhile and he was big Cowboys fan. He would SO mad if he saw Tony Romo mess up that snap.
The Colts did it with defense this time around. I like what the Eagles have got going right now and I hope its a good game in New Orleans. |
My predictions:
I see the Bears beating the Seahawks. The Hawks will be better than they were when the Bears busted them up earlier in the season, but i dont think even Shaun Alexander will be enough to help them out. I like the Eagles over the Saints. The Eagles are on a roll, possibly the hottest team in the NFC. Westbrook can be a monster runner. They seem to believe. I want the Colts to beat the Ravens. The Colts are a sleeper team in this years playoffs. Little hype about them this time around. Manning played terrible, and they still won. If he can get on track and the defense plays like they did against KC, they can win. Ask the "Greatest show on turf" Rams of a few years back, offense can win a championship. Im hoping the Chargers bust open the Patriots. I hate the Pats, but i admit they are a good team. However, i fear "Martyball" may hit the Bolts, so of the four games this is the one im least certain about. I go with the Chargers though. Anybody notice how much better last weeks NFC playoff games were? They both went down to the last minute. |
Wow..some great games this past weekend...what a shame for Romo and the cowboys...
Anyways, thsi weekend are some VERY good games. Ravens v Colts: wow, this should be interesting. I really like both teams alot (love both QBs) but I hope Peyton can pull it out. Either way, i think whoever wins here, will lose in their next matchup Pats v Chargers: Now this should be good. I love LT and hope he runs all over the pats. As stated earlier, I hate the Pats, so I hope the chargers do them like the Gators did the Buckeyes... Bears v Seahawks: The bears are my team so I hope they win. The seahawks dont look particularly great (niether do the bears fo rhtat matter) but hopefully they can pull it off And lastly, I hope the Saints win. I like Brees and Colston and I hope they can take care of business... |
Game time is fast approaching. Any last thought or comments?
Im getting shaky on my Colts over the Ravens pick. Im going to stick with it though. Colts have burned me too many times in the past, so im always second guessing myself when picking in the playoffs. |
I now believe the Ravens will do it. The colts are gonna fold under pressure I think....though Peyton and Steve know one another's styles pretty well....ugh I hate Peyton...GO STEVE!!!!!!! I hate that Nashville screwed you over but we love ya here!!!! WIN!
|
I will continue to root for the Colts.
|
Those AFC matchups are pretty wild and could go either way. Should make for some good football this weekend....
|
Seahawks- Both of the teams aren't very good
Eagles-I hope the Saints win, but I feel the Eagles will continue to roll. Ravens- A good D. Peyton will go home early again. Patriots-My upset pick. I was thinking the Chargers would crush the Pats, but I'm going the other way. I think the Pats will get it done somehow. Just one of those "feelings". Those are my picks. Can't wait, should be a great weekend of football. |

For some reason I enjoy watching Peyton lose in the early in playoffs year after year, after year. I think it's because I feel he doesn't deserve all the praise he gets from the media. I don't like Eli either, but thats because he was a b*tch on draft day. He got what he wanted, going to NY and now he's struggling and I'm glad. It may also be because he's the son of a former nfl player. But I'm not a 100% sure why I hate him either. I was just thinking about this last weekend while I was rooting for the Chiefs. |
Ah, good to see im not the only one that feels that way about him. Its hard to put a finger on what exactly it is, but i know its there when i see a Colts game on the television. I forgot about Eli's draft day antics, for that alone i root against him.
Being a Bears fan, i dont feel so bad now, it seems like everyone thinks the Patriots will beat the Chargers. The Bolts get no love because their coach has a reputation for stinking it up in the playoffs. |
Katie! I just realized we're having our first disagreement. But I must say, I didn't think my Colts were going to pull it out. 5 field goals? Common Payton! Get your arm out your ass!
|
I don't think the Colts will win next week...whether it's the Pats or Chargers.
But Patriots vs Colts would be an awesome AFC championship game. |
How can you all say that Peyton doesn't live up to the hype? He is a tremendous QB whose on pace to break most, if not all, important QB records out there. Year after year he puts up crazy numbers, hes a tremendous iron-man who never gets hurt and when he does, he plays through it. Often when the colts fail, its not due to his failure, but the failure of those around him and for many seasons, the defense. He's not perfect by any means, but hes still a phenonanal QB whether you like him or not. Other than maybe a handful of QBs, who would you rather have on your team? Granted he hasn't one the big one YET but that does that make him (and Marino for that matter) an overrated QB? Keep in mind that the AFC has been sooo strong these last few years yet he always leads them into the playoffs, oftentimes with a great record.
Now Eli on the other hand IS IN FACT OVER-RATED. He sux royally despite being in a conference that wallows in mediorcity. I hate the way he plays and esp. the way hes always looks like hes about to cry. And I actully like the giants. |
DOn't get me wrong. Peyton is the man. Especially since he's leading my colts. But 5 fieldgoals? Not one TD? Something was going on...
|
The media is all over his jock 24/7. I get tired of hearing how awesome he is. Then when he plays, he's not that fantastic. He a good player, without a doubt. But the media hypes the **** outta him.
As for my picks, 0-3. I really thought the Eagles, Seahawks and Ravens would win. As for the Pats, I just like them. I'm not sure if they can beat SD but I really hope so. I'll probably end up 0-4, haha. |

And yea, all those field goals is pretty crazy. I would expect that out of the Ravens but not the Colts. And what a great win by the Bears today. Not pretty, but well done. And currently its 0-0 in the Pats game. I really hope the Chargers can pull it off.... |
Hell yes the Pats won...and what a great game. But what was the deal with LT not shaking hands with anyone after the game? He was also trash talking which seems so not like him. I think someone came up to him to shake his hand and was still celebrating the win at the same time so he took it personally.
So NFC Championship: Saints at Bears AFC Championship: Patriots at Colts So my prediction is that the pats and saints will play in the superbowl. But these should be great games. |

I was 2 (Bears and Colts) out of four in playoff games this week. The Eagles just couldnt stop McAllister, it was like an SUV on a road with a bunch of squirrels. And the Chargers disappointed me. Darn, Martys post season history once again comes in to bite him in the butt. But the good news for me is that the Bears won, even if it was a lot closer than i wanted it to be. Theyve got their work cut out for them next week. I think they have better players than the Saints, but their run defense is going down the drain. Jeff the cheff, im not trying to defend Tomlinson, but maybe he didnt shake hands because he was upset with losing. Especially considering how he ran over the Pats defense and his team let the game slip away. Hes got to be disappointed. No excuse for bad sportsmanship though. He ought to voice his frustrations with his teammates, some of them made stupid decisions like the guy that headbutted a Pat and gave the ball back to the Patriots. Im picking the Bears over the Saints, but im going to have to sleep on the Colts vs Patriots game. I'll post back with what i decide and why when i do within the next day or two. |
Saints vs. Pats in the Superbowl.
|
I was just watching sportscenter, and there was an interview with LT about why he has upset after the game. Apparantly, one of the Pat's players did a celebration dance that a Charger's player is known for, and he thought it was disrespectful. He said they have "no class"
|
Wasn't the player doing Shawne Merriman's celebration?
Shows how much I know, I only picked 2 winners this week, the Bears and the Saints. NFC Title Game - Bears vs Saints: This should be a good one and I hope the Saints pull this one out. AFC Title Game - Colts vs Patriots: Another one I hope will be good, but I'll for Tom Brady and crew. |

Championships are teriffic, don't get me wrong. Their what every player strives for and every fan hopes for. That said, they are not the end all be all. |
