TMNT VS Battletoads
 

Who would win in an all-out fight. Sure the TMNT have martial arts skills and they outnumber the Toads by one, but the Toads have the Smash Hits workin for em, and Pimple is their powerhouse, and the TMNT don't really have a 'big strong guy' on their team. Woulda been a cool match...

Seriously though, the 'Toads would slaughter 'em. Hands. Down.

Makes me feel like adding a small non-canon skit between the 2 green teams in one of my future issues...

it would be pretty cool to see them together, but i don't know why they would fight eachother unless like shredder took control of them like he did to the other toads in the OS, but i think they would be pretty evenly matched although the turtles would come out ahead because they got the numbers

TMNT all the way. Definitely. Or maybe I'm just biased.

In the past, they have led to arguments and many ridiculous offshoot threads. If we can keep them to a minimum and remain civil, though, I'm willing to give VS threads another chance.

I'm not technically a mod, but I visit this section every day.

Well the toads can turn their body parts into weapons, and the feet and hands also get huge and slap you from across the screen.

In a battle I'd say the TMNT could take on 3 toads easily, but in terms of who had a better arcade game, well the toads take the gold there.

And the better NES game, too. Come to think of it, Battletoads & Double Dragon was superior to TiT, as well. So yeah, the 'Toads have got the videogame market pinned down, but the Turtles win at everything else, toys and cartoons included.

well wasn't there only like one cartoon of the battle toads? i just heard that somewhere, and did they even have any toys?

Yeah, there were toys (or rubber figurines, at least.) And yeah, there was a cartoon pilot produced during the franchise's peak, but it was so horrible it never aired more than once. :ohwell:

So what, you saw the commercials and had a tape ready to record? Or you just stumbled upon it?

If I recall it was part of some kid's day cartoon thing which I think had a Batman ep, X Men ep, and of course the Battletoads cartoon. I'm not sure but I think they also had the Bubsy the Bobcat cartoon then too. So yeah, they advertised it and I was more than ready to tape it back then.

I heard youtube had the episode...? Anyone seen it there?

lets see, TMNT, whom I grew up with, vs Battletoads, who had an awesome video game, but a not so awesome cartoon (did it really have a cartoon series? I just saw a one tape episode on VHS, and assumed it was the only BAttletoads cartoon ever made). I'll go with TMNT. Now, Battletoads with Double Dragon, now TMNT may have a little trouble.

EDIT: Nevermind, read the rest of the topic. Lucky me for finding that cartoon. It was on VHS back in 1995. It was terrible. I actually looked down on the Battletoads for a cartoon this bad.

I think there's a pilot for battletoads circling around on the internet. It's awful though.

I didn't like the super nintendo battle toads game, it was pretty awful. But I just cleaned my NES, replaced the connector, and cleaned a few of my games and battletoads was one of them. Funny thing is this game never worked (it was extremely dirty when I cleaned it) as I got it from funcoland (now gamestop). I finally got it to work and it's a pretty fun game. I thought double dragon was better though. They got a decent show and some good toys too.

I don't know. Maybe the Ninja Turtles would have had an easier time getting through the game than the Battletoads(and by extension, us), did?:lol:

Battletoads was darn near impossible without Game Genie.

But I gotta give TMNT the edge because it's 4 on 3, shells, and ninja skills.

You know, a while back, maybe 2-3 years I was in a dollar store and found bootlegged Battletoads toys (labled simply as "SPACE") but I never went back to get them. The original toys in question were bendies, BTW. I recall seeing them years ago.

As for the VS in the thread, well, to me Battle toads was yet another animal mutant team that was only created to make TMNT bucks. Like Snailiens or Stone protectors. Now, I don't hate the Battle toads, I liked them and all, but the game was FRUSTRAITING, especially that random pod race.

I had two bendable Battletoads figures when I was a kid. They got tossed along with all my Ninja Turtles though. I kick myself sometimes wondering how I could have chosen MMPR at one point over Ninja Turtles and X-Men. Stupid 8 year old self.
