Which comic character has the biggest fan base
Which comic good go has most fans around the world out of these.
I was typing to fast up above and made a couple mistakes. I just said which character is liked most in your area.
Batman, without a doubt is the most popular on that list.
Batman, in all seriousness.
I don't know about actual fanbases but Batman and Spider-Man are without a doubt the most popular superhero characters
I would say Batman first, followed closely by Spiderman and Superman. Then it would be the Incredible Hulk and last, the TMNT. Not that i'm knocking the turtles though...
Yea, its gotta be Batman/Superman followed closely by Spiderman and a host of other characters before you get even close to TMNT...the thing is, those comics have been around soooo much longer so they've had much more time to develop a larger fanbase....
I'm not sure. I picked Spidey, but Bats is also very popular...i'd say both.
Batman, Superman, & Wonder Woman for DC. Spider-Man and Wolverine for Marvel.
In terms of my school, I think Spiderman is the winner with the girls. However, I love Bats with all of my heart, and Superman is not far behind when I ask my friends, so yeah...those three are pretty much the superhero gods of today, I guess...
Voted Batman. Superman is great, but hasn't had as many interesting stories over time (Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow is awesome though).
I'd say Wolverine has increased in popularity lately due to the movies. This has been good for comics in general, bad for X-Men fans. I like Wolvie, I don't want to hate him because he shows up in every book. |
Batman of couse! Spidey is a close second.... I think.
In the 90's I'd say Batman, his animated series sweeped up and his movies as well.
But now more recently I think Spider-man has been more popular. Either way their both awesome, but as much as I like them both I personally like Batman better. Which is funny because I hate DC comics for the most part. Not to sound like a dick but why are the TMNT even on that list? You know their not popular. If they were they wouldn't be on a independent label that never ships on time. |
Marvel is independent now?
Superman and Batman, no question about it. You guys aren't looking at the big picture. EVERYONE knows Superman and Batman. EVERYONE. Find me someone who hasn't heard about them and hasn't at some point in their lives, been interested in either one of them. You won't. I guarantee it.
The big thing about Batman and Superman is that they're not comic-book characters anymore. To say that comics are their primary medium is doing them an injustice. They're pop culture icons in every sense of the word. People know them from movies, cartoons, TV shows, books, games, etc, dating back nearly seventy years. Whereas, when you think Spider-Man or X-Men, you'd still probably just see a comic cover in your head. Spider-Man's films have been popular, but I don't know if they'll have the lasting effect on pop culture as the combined efforts of all the different media incarnations Batman and Superman have appeared in. The only other characters I can think of who have debuted in comics, but it would be an injustice to call them 'comic-book characters' are...well...the Ninja Turtles! Spider-Man has a considerably large fanbase, especially since the movies came out, but he's nowhere near these two. Superman and Batman CREATED both concepts of a 'superhero' (an optimistic beacon of hope and justice and a dark, brooding, shadowy figure of the night, both hiding behind the disguise of someone shy and foppish) not to mention they turned the flailing 'funny-book gig' into what we know today as the multi-million dollar comic-book industry. |
Da na na na na na na na na naaaaaaaaaa
BATMAN!!! But I love Spidey because he's so easy to identify with. |

BATMAN!!![/QUOTE} Please don't do that. Ever. Quote:
I may be a bit of a geek (anyone who posts on a comic-book related forum can't say otherwise, IMHO), but I have a large circle of friends, I'm confident in my fashion sense and I'm tall and not too skinny. I'm not afraid of girls and I've had girlfriends. Long story short, I'm nothing like Peter Parker. The only Spider-Man I can identify with, is the superhero identity from the 90s-early 2000s comics or sometimes 'Ultimate Spider-Man'. In these comics, Spider-Man isn't a larger than life superhero, he's just an average, everday superhero in a world full of them. He isn't as famous as the likes of Captain America or The Fantastic Four. I can relate to this quite a bit, as while I'm nothing like Peter Parker, I still wouldn't call myself 'popular' per se. Just an average, ordinary guy who doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, but who isn't a complete wallflower, either. |

Superman is far more popular than Batman, if you look at the global picture. Superman turns up in pop culture far more often, even in sidestream art. I, for one, am sick of hearing Superman-related songs (although I will quite hypocritically exclude JPL's Ukelele Song and anything by Jon Sofier from that statement). I know people who have never heard of Ninja Turtles (not in the US) or Batman (also not in the US). Some things don't translate very well. Superman does. |
I've always had a special place in my heart for spider-man. I dont know if that makes him the most popular though.
Yeah Spidey's my number 1.
Of those, Batman. Superman MAY top him. From Marvel, definitely Spiderman.
