Only read if you have seen all of season 5
with the way that season 5 was, all that had happened and and the way it ended...is it possible for the turtles to go back to the way it used to be and fight karai and bishop and the purple dragons? it seems like they are capable of so much more even without their mystic powers. i wish they came up with a more creative way to portray the turtles in season six instead of some futuristic type deal. if they were going to give them a new look i atleast think it should have some depth and meaning. i feel like Fast forward is taking a page out of what the power rangers show does by changing powers or what the show is called each season..its pathetic. all in all if the season ended after 5 i would be completely happy with the way the turtles were portrayed and how the whole series played out. what do you guys think?
|
They don't have their medallions anymore. At the end of the episode you see the Turtles without them. The medallions served their purpose, so any future seasons will not have them. I assume...

With the knowledge that Bishop became a good guy and president of the United Federation of Planets, I don't think they'd fight him again.
As for the Medalions. Spoiler:
|
i understand that the medallions are gone and so are the mystic powers..i was stating that since they have been through all the tasks is season 5, that all the other enemies seem as though they wouldnt be much of a challenge. sorry if i didnt clarify

Well just as I thought the Shredder was too much for them, someone comes and kicks their asses harder then he does. That being Bishop. If the show continues (which I hope to god it does,) and they go home, I'm sure Bishop will still be up to some tricks. Someone else could also come into play that's even worse then Shredder and Bishop. In anycase I think that they still have a lot to learn.

Maybe >> is an attempt to see how the TMNT, in an animated form can survive sans Shred-head as the prime baddy.
|
Well that's really the point, they were doing fine in the present day without using him before "Scion of the Shredder" reintroduced the character
|
True, but has the TMNT gone a whole season with no Shredder? (heck he's shown up, be it minimally in >>)
|
Actually, I've been thinking about that. Can they have a season without Shredder at all. And they can, they just need to push Bishop into focus.
I think at this point, people have seen enough of Shredder. And with the Tengu Shredder angle and Spoiler:
I think they should go for one more season. Make it entirley Shredder-less. Not even an honorable mention except at the very end. Just to prove they can be good without him. |

Wow, just wow. I got a bit scared with all the energy battling crap they did and the Ghost Busters references but all in all it was pretty bad ass.
Zombies! Just wow, if this makes it on TV I'll be surprised. Hun's voice pissed me off to no end and the Nano episode was un-needed but I'm glad they made his character less annoying. The backgrounds in some scenes you could tell they took some budget cuts but the animation as a whole was great. I liked it a lot. They ended it, I don't see where else it could possibly go from there. If that wasn't an ending I don't know what is. If they some how continue it *I'm assuming FF is what happened after this season that was made pretty clear* then I guess the TMNT lost their powers when their amulets were broken. All in all I'm impressed, I thought it was going to be too animey but it kept it close enough to core content, and **** was it dark. I don't see them airing this on TV... If the series goes on one story arc I could see them doing is Shredder's evil Tengu power Karai channeled coming back through her and causing problems. And unless they did that right I don't see it being to interesting so let's hope they avoid that path. |
Just some very random thoughts (I watched the entire season instead of sleeping last night, so my head's still all over the place):
SPOILERS, if you're dumb enough to be reading this thread and not expecting any! - I would have expected more of a reaction from the turtles regarding the fact that they were able to TURN INTO FRICKIN' DRAGONS! All we got was the standard, "Wow, that was awesome" kind of thing, nothing to suggest that they were particularly impressed. Just a nit-pick. - In fact, with this kind of storyline I would have expected at least a little more emotion and/or angst from the main characters, but they all just seemed to take everything in their stride; the ups and down of their journey weren't really ups and downs at all. Except for Splinter, I suppose. But then again, there hasn't been much of this sort of development in the show before either, so I'm not really sure why I thought there would be. I guess that's what fanfics are for. - Where did Hot!Chaplin come from?? Wasn't he a goofy-looking nerd before? (I'm too lazy to check the older episodes). Well, I guess they had to sex him up a bit to make it believeable that Karai would walk off into the sunset with him... - I was ROFL at Mikey's comment when Splinter told the boys about his nightmares, and Mike said something along the lines of, "Ooh, is it the one where your taking a really hard Math test, and then you realise you're not wearing your shell?". Hehe. Mike's humour doesn't usually make me laugh but sometimes he comes out with some pearlers. - I found the ending of the last ep to be rather anticlimactic. Did anyone else feel this way or am I just being picky? - Maybe I'm way too Harry Potter obsessed, but all I could think of whenever Shredder was shown without his helmet was: Voldemort. The white face, the glowing red eyes, the slightly snake-y fangs... the only thing is though that Voldemort actually has some sort of motivation for being evil whereas the Shredder's just a demon who wants to make the world one great big hell-hole. But why?? That was exactly what I said out loud when he announced his plans to do as such. What purpose does it serve? Meh, that's a rhetorical question, I know I'm reading into it way too much! The above sounds like I didn't enjoy it. I promise I did, but it's just so much more fun to gripe instead of saying, "Oh this was cool; oh that was cool". lol. |
Chaplin...and they did change some stuff.
Harry Potter? Ugh, that style has been done 10 times over in tons of shows and movies. |

I wonder how Splinter actually managed to obtain Yoshi's ashes .... Unless he actually knew someone from his funeral or something.

Chaplin was presumably in prison until Karai and the Foot broke him out. I wouldn't be surprised if that's where he put on his extra bulk.
|
The only thing that disapointed me really was no Leatherhead in the final fight, his exclusion was rather odd.

Saw the Lost Season. I didn't think it was all that great. Well-executed, technically, but soulless. Totally devoid of character development. It felt like a sparkly, multi-colored acid trip... The turtles called out their attacks like power rangers, weren't reflecting at all on what was happening. I found myself unable to care when characters were "killed" off... Everyone seemed so out of character. Like everything was smushed together -- OOOOoookay! We have to write a big finale arc that "ties" together all the loose ends, but not really. Happy ending for Karai. All is well. Anyways. I still prefer the magical dragon "it's morphin time!" turtles to >> any day.
Though, if TMNT 2k3 ever comes back, I really want to see more Bishop-oriented story arcs. We have hardly seen enough of this guy -- or his 'spawn' such as Rat King. Bishop is one of the most badass, complex villains in the new show. He's like one of three characters that is truly intimidating. |
Thanks for prpviding no real reasons or ellaboration. I think you're just saying this to go against the grain. Anything "souless" CAN'T be well-executed.

I didn't like the laser swords, that they turn into dragons for some reason never explained. The Animals they summon. The uselessness of the tribunal, I mean none of this was nessary if they just did their jobs instead of training the turtles. And the demon Shredder is way to powerful, the turtles have no way to even fight him at all, the only way he gets beat is by yoshi magicly appearing for no reason. And what makes yoshi so great anyways he was taken down by utrom shredder, leo could easly kill him by now. I just really have a problem with the laser swords, it's very out of place. Still this is a thousand times better then fast forward.
|
I don't know how anyone could not have liked this. Given, it did take the turtles into a whole new direction, but it was a great direction. I'm pumped to see Membership Drive this weekend. However, even though Fast Forward is far worse than the 2k3 series, I'm compelled to watch it again. I do enjoy it slightly.
|
I have seen all the episodes up until "Fathers and Sons", and I say that the Ninja Tribunal season owns the Fast Forward season in every single way. The only beef I had with the Ninja Tribunal season was how everyone had to die all in one episode. It would have been better if everyone down in the cavern died and everyone else survived until the next episode. Heck, I think 3 of the 4 human Acolyte deaths were pretty pointless to be thrown in when the first guy died.
Still, it didn't make me stop enjoying The Lost Season so far. I'm going to be watching "Past present" tonight (hopefully!) and possibly "Enter the Dragons" parts 1 and 2 tomorrow. I can't wait to see the ending! :D |

I like TLS, but if they actually gave the main characters some soul and emotion, it could have been so much better. Did anyone else think that Don liked saying "The Cleaving Wind!!" way too much? Lol. |
Agreed with Fledermaus, the only gripes I had with the Lost Season was the lack of soul. I mean at least Mikey showed some emotion when Tora died. I guess Leo's reaction to Feraji's death was normal, I guess. But I dunno, I'd expect him to have a little more emotion. Raph's reaction to Joy's death was lame; he was basically hitting on her and wanting to get in her pants the whole time. He witnessed her getting eaten, and all he can say is "I'll never forget you" and continues fighting on. Don's reaction to Adam seemed like nothing. I dunno, I saw these Turtles train with these guys, share tales with these guys, share spars with these guys... they were practically roomies. They've been on quests together searching for the artifacts. You should expect some sort of emotional ties. But I saw almost nothing.
I liked the background story from the flashback episode. That was pretty cool. I also liked the action in this arc, and the battles. Tengu Shredder's story made sense to me, I liked it. I also liked how he wasn't completely invincible in this new world. Technology of today should be able to slow him down a bit. Tengu Shredder was definitely bad ass. To be honest, after dealing with Fast Forward, this arc was a breath of fresh air. Even though I had a few gripes with it, I still overall enjoyed it. |
Ah yes, here comes the bandwagon of "it was'nt that great, or that bad". Think for ten minutes. When the other warriors were initially dying, it was in the middle of a ferocious battle where mostly everything was going to heck. The Turtles did'nt exactly have time to mourn when they were constantly on the move. That's REALISM. And in a show that balance out realism as much as it can, Raph's reaction was fairly accurate. Exhausted emotionally and mentally from this ordeal so far, he obviously could'nt process the concept of death that much.
|
Saw it the other day. Overall I thought it was good, but I didn't like the 'real' Shredder. After most people had finally gotten over Shredder being an Utrom, I thought it was cheap to dismiss him as an 'imposter'. I thought the zombie Shredder was kind of lame and didn't have the emotional connection to the Turtles the Utrom Shredder did.
The final battle was cool, though I never liked the Justice Force and felt they had no business being there. I would rather have seen Leatherhead, Fugitoid and the Utroms, and was actually a bit surprised and dissappointed that they didn't make an appearance. I liked the return of Chaplin, and his infatuation with Karai was a nice development. Maybe the Leo/Karai stuff can be put to rest now as well. The Acolytes were cool. I thought their 'deaths' were handled well, and actually was dissappointed by their return as it cheapened it. Give Leo his sword back, jerk. The whole dragon transformation was overdone, but I really liked how it was Yoshi that saved the day. Ok, that was my rant. All bitching aside I enjoyed it and thought it was a fitting end to the series (Which I fully expect it is). |

Seriously kid, how about "thinking for ten minutes" and accepting just maybe others CAN find flaws in a show that your close-minded perception won't allow you to see. If we want to talk about realism... what were the odds of every single casualty being any character EXCEPT a Ninja Turtle? I guess in some realistic chance of luck, out of the 8 characters that were taken out (including the Ninja Tribunal), not a single one of them was Turtle. Or maybe perhaps we can talk about how the warriors weren't even mourned AFTER the battle was done. Only moment that seemed to have a bit of remembrance was Don building the Turtle Taxi and incorporating some of the ideas Adam had. That was it. As I said before, I'm not saying it was a bad series. I think it was great, especially seeing as we were fed Fast Forward for who knows how long. But just because this series was great, doesn't mean it was perfect. There's bound to be some flaws you have to point out. |
