TMNT episodes you'll never watch again
So far I know of 3 episodes from the OT that I will never watch again:
Case of the Hot Kimono (Raph had some funny lines here, but pretty whacky episode, not fun at all) Turtle Terminator (:x I really, really HATE this episode, it is soooo bad, it's Irma-focused, it has 2, count 'em TWO, alternate voices I can hardly stand one. Worst of all it just plain sucks) Mr. Ogg Goes to Town (If I wanna hear crap like this, I'll watch Pee Wee's Playhouse) Other than these 3 abominations, I love the first 3 seasons of the OT (even if a few things that go on in other episodes are hard to swallow at times). Which episodes peeve you the most? |
Turtle Terminator was dreadful, I hated that episode too, another one that springs to mind had Aprils Aunt as some sort of miss Marple type detective, that was utter shite, and the most unTMNT thing I've ever seen.
|
Yea that's case of the hot kimono, and it is VERY un-tmnt.
|
Any episode featuring the Neutrinos(don't think I spelt that right) was another one to forget, never liked those characters.
|
I didn't like them much either, they really brought down the first season with their one episode. But I love "The Grybyx", mainly because we see a Leo vs. Shedder fight, but it's still a good episode.
|
Michelangelo Toys Around is one I would add. This one's dreadful.
|
Hopefully I'll never have the misfortune of watching the worst TMNT episode ever, Artless, ever again. You think those season 3 episodes were bad, Artless makes them look great. It's just plain painful to watch.
|
Case of the Hot Kimono wasn't all that great... but Aunt Aggie's second appearance, 'Sleuth on the Loose' is one of my favorite TMNT episodes of all time. It also showed a fat person who was compitant, didn't gouge themselves with food, and wasn't comic relief :), unlike say, the Chris Farley fat type that usually gets portrayed in media :).
As for episodes I hate.... Elementry my Dear Turtle. The entire thing didn't make sense, and felt like a whole chunk was missing. The part where they mention following crooks on the train roof, but this is never seen. Why are April, Burn, and Vernon all in England and speaking with British accents? Weak fight scenes even for this series. The one with Moriarty and Holmes is laughable. Northern Lights Out - Bad Dialouge, slow plot. Not very fun at all. I can put up with almost every episode in this series, even ones with terrible alternate voices...but these two nothing short of a rewrite can fix. |
I agree. Actually, the European vacation episodes as a whole are some of my least favorite episodes in the entire series. Forgot about those.
|
from the ones i can remember:
Donatello's bad time: unsure if this is the title, but its the one wher esome rednecks steal the turtle van. Not thaat bad, but being a Don fan it pains me Turtle terminator: irma-centric, really boring/dry for the guys, and rpahs alternate va is really bad. sky turtles: maybe its just me, i felt this was vety blah, i fell asleep. |

Anything involving the Next Mutation, with the exception of if I ever get nostalgic for Rangers in Space (the Yellow Ranger was pretty cute).
Other than that though, never say never if I get bored enough. |
SAINW, everything else is fine.

"The Grybyx".I hate this episode!
"The Grybyx".Mrzim ovu epizodu! |
From the 03 toon:
Any thing with the justice force: I know this show is a cartoon, but don't shoot me when I say the JF makes this show feel.... really cartoony:ohwell: Wing and Prayer: Biggest filler EVER! The Trouble With Augie: I would have killed someone if April said "Uncle Augie" one more time. garbage episode. Theres a few FF eps. that are toilet-worthy, but I'll get to them later. |
There are quite a few episodes I would not care to watch again, so I will comment on those already mentioned with some dishonourable other mentions.
I honestly didn't think The Turtle Terminator was so bad an episode. Yes, the unusually high amount of alternate voices spoiled it a little and the use of mirrors to defeat the robot was daft, but it had plenty of comedy and a great sting in the tail by sending it back to the technodrome. (Although the availability of a transport module for the robot can be added to the convenient endings.) Mr Ogg Goes To Town was one of my least favourites from season three - a letdown by David Wise on that occasion. The majority of the European Vacation episodes were dire. Convicts of Dimension X (from season 7) - A whole string of crimes in this episode. For starters, the words Dimension X make you think it is going to be an S&K episode. When it turns out not to be, at least make the characters memorable! Only watched it very recently and I have forgotten the story already. I can't comment on other later seasons as I haven't seen tapes, but one thing I notice from the 7th is that episodes are rushed, more is loaded into episodes and the endings are sudden to accommodate this. Also, some of the speech of Krang and the baddies are rushed, so the story moves faster. It gives less time to digest the humour and interaction between the villains. |

Both the episodes with Irma's "friend" Howie....god I wanted to strangle that guy.

I'm going to have to step forward and defend Case of the Hot Kimono, for the simple reason it has one of my all time favorite Splinter lines in it. "Please, do not call me mister. Call me Master." (I'm so mature >.>) What I couldn't stand was those damn frogs >.< Yeah...you heard me! |

There are quite a few not so great episodes but I'm sure I'll end up watching them all again. When I have all the episodes on DVD, I'll rewatch them again in the REAL order. I wanted to do it this time but because the DVDs have them in an incorrect order, it's too late to change that now.

I could do without seeing 90% of the OT again. They were fun when I was 10, but that was 17 years ago.
My absolute least favorite episode was "April Fooled", in which April is confused with some European royalty who looks just like her. Seems like that plot has been done in every cartoon ever (and several times in "The Flintstones"), and the episode was made during the period where the animation was at its absolute worst. The first couple of seasons at least had some kind of an edge to them, visually, but by the time "April Fooled" aired, the show had hit rock bottom, to the point that the episodes were tedious for me to watch and I was a die-hard fan. Things picked up a bit during the "Blue Sky" era, as it felt like they were at least trying to be serious again, but I absolutely hated the "Turtles to the Second Power" mini-series, or whatever it was called. It had the Turtles getting help from their past selves from their first year fighting the Shredder, if I remember correctly, but it resulted in two sets of Turtles who acted exactly the same! Show me a teenager who undergoes no changes in a five-year span, and I'll show you a kid in suspended animation. Those episodes showed that the Turtles had experienced zero character growth over the years, and that was the last straw for me as a fan of the cartoon. I crave character development, and the movies and comics proved to me that the Turtles were capable of it. My least favorite episode of "Next Mutation" was the first one with Silver, the "gangster ape". I couldn't stand that character. The only reason I'm not ranking the Power Ranger's crossover as my least favorite, though, was that "Shell Shocked" was an episode of "Power Rangers in Space". So it gets off on a technicality. "Lone Raph and Cub" is my least favorite 2K3 episode, because the entire episode revolves around the idea that a blinded ninja is at any kind of disadvantage. Not only that, but Raph was at such a disadvantage that he needed some kid's help to kick butt. Sorry, not buying it. |

Same As It Never Was. I don't want to see the Turtles die, even if it was an alternate universe. There was one cool part where Leo makes his entrance in the trench coat, twirls his katana in a really cool way after defeating the bad guys, but that is the only part I liked from that episode.
Other than that, give me fast forward any day over this particular one! |
That was a well made episode, but I too hate seeing the TMNT die, no matter what the situation.
|
But it was... character building, in a way. Things happened. They died, yes... but that's real life, people. That was an excellent episode, and deserving of a two parter. I'd have loved to explore that reality for a bit longer.

And Leo and Raph being beaten by Karai just irked the hell out of me. I saw this episode once, thought, what a bunch of horse manure, and never watched it again. |

Hehe, everyone's so tense tonight. Guess no one's allowed to give a differeing opinion, eh? Hah, I don't care what you're opinion is, I was just giving mine. And I prefer stories with substance over FF. Hence why SAINW was a great ep. But I digress. That's my opinion.
|
I wish SAINW would be made into an ice drama.

Woah I just saw that Jo said SAINW had substance. All it had was a rushed storyline, corny dialog, and the lamest death scenes I've ever seen. OH no Raph's ribs, dieing! Leo can survive a explosion on his shell but when Karai cuts him he's dead. Oh and then Karai takes a missile to the face yet she's able to get up and talk before she dies. The freaking TMNT die form a sword cut to a non-lethal part of their body and die but she can get up after being hit with a missile and talk before she drops dead. That makes alota sense...I mean it was just so flawed. Not to defend FF or anything but there's better examples to use. |

To me, that is the sign of a powerful episode. The general concensus of SAINW seams to be that many people put in it in their top five, and many people simply hate SAINW and anyone who enjoyed it. I think, any episode that can stir your emotions and get you wriled up is a successful (don't know if successful is the right word to use but I couldn't think of the perfect word to describe) episode. |
Quote:
It's a neet episode and all but it's hardly the best or darkest. And your right season 4 is like the devil and SAINW is like a fluffy cloud. Btw I wish people would stop with the darkness crap ohh It's so much darker than this or that. Um last time I checked something being dark does not make for a good show...Good Writing and characters do. |
Well... I meant substance as... hmm, how to explain it...
I guess it had a potential (though untapped) and all that history. Their past, what was going on with the characters, Splinter's death... I said a two parter would have been ideal... ...But at least it wasn't an episode where they GO TO THE MALL and that is the extent of the story. And yeah, it's a love it or hate it ep. I just felt that the emotional impact was well worth it (for the viewers), though I wish there were more emotions in the characters. |

And Todays episode "Enter the Jammerhead" even if I hated it continues almost directly after "Invasion of the Bodyjacker". I mean it's not even the only Thing I really could list allot of other things. |
