Sad News Concerning Figures Regarding Fast Forward.

I know not many people are fans of the show but I'm quite a fan of the figures they have more detail than the 2k2 figures and really take me back to the 80's/90's tmnt line of figures. Anyways I wrote to playmates over the weekend because I was wondering what was up with the next batch of figures. This is what I got in my in box today around Noon today.:ohwell:

Right now the Movie figures are out in the stores and the Fast Forward may not be released again until 2008, if they are going to come back out. The ship date has not been determined yet?

Just thought some of you would care to know. It's good news for the movie line though.

Roseangelo 04-02-2007 06:46 PM

I can't say I'm surprised. When Playmates didn't show at Toy Fair I knew something was up (or in this case, nothing).

Honestly, I'm coming to feel a total loss of direction for the TMNT from all of the major players: Mirage, 4Kids, and Playmates. Considering the new movie should have given everyone MORE direction and plenty of opportunities that should have been taken but were missed, it makes me quite sad, really.

Head Spinnin' Bebop 04-02-2007 07:05 PM

I had no interest in the FF line (though it did look like it was done better than the regular series line which I wasn‘t too happy with except for a select few) or series, so how was it selling?

I did see Viral, Cody and the white robot on the weekend though.

Oh and btw Putrescent, did you email them yesterday? I emailed them asking a question last night. Hopefully they get back to me. Usually they're good. I remember Paula from the Simpsons line haha.

OA 04-02-2007 07:48 PM

Yea, Im not a fan of the series either but I hate to see the figures come to an end...i wonder what direction they'll go in after the movie figs...

Me Also It's like they really don't know what to do anymore....the way they are sparaticly trying different things really makes it obvious they are worried.
The lines sales keep dropping and dropping as the years go by.
It's actually really sad I know I'm more than likely gonna get bashed for this but in my opinion what made the 80's/90's line so cool was it's huge cast of interesting looking characters and really detailed sculpts something that's sadly missing from the modern line.

Yeah and she responded to me again because I just wanted to be sure about the purple dragon figure...it really makes me wonder if they aren't going back to the present day tmnt.

It has not been made but I have seen on the line list for future production of the product. Lots of people have asked for the dragon figure too.

wow that sucks. I didnt get around to collecting the FF line, but I really kinda liked some of them. I loved the Splinter toy especially. I guess I should run out tomorrow to see if I can find the TMNT and Splinter.. any other recomended ones for the FF line?

Yeah it's lame because the line was really reminding me of the 80's line with the detail to sculpt and what not. They also had plans for some really nice figures.
I'd recomend the 4 dark tmnt and virral personally they are my faves.

Chris 04-03-2007 12:37 PM

Well I just got an email from Dan answering my question about the future of the series and he said that as far as he knew more episodes of Fast Forward are being developed.

That means we will get a new Season this Fall (Season 7 when you count TLS as Season 5) which should hopefully allow Playmates to release the rest of the FF figures they had planned before the movie hit.

TMNTGal 04-03-2007 03:16 PM

They need to get back to the regular line. We are missing a bunch of characters. I don't like the movie figures and the only FF figures I bought were the regular Turtles and dark Turtles. They can still keep these lines on the side but when are they going to finish all the other stuff they started.

Toonami Tom 04-03-2007 03:47 PM

I hope the Fast Forward toy line continues. I really want that Bishop figure.

Well, if the toy line does end, at least most of the major players were released.

Raph's Girl 04-03-2007 04:31 PM

The FF line can end right after I get the Starlee figure!! I don't wanna have to wait till 2008 to get Starlee darnit!! :ohwell:

As for the regular line. I just simply want:
Joy
Ancient One
Klunk
Dragons
Teng Shen

Sounds like they're gonna make the dragons tho since people are interested!

I completely agree...there are soo many other figures I wish they would go back and finish up on...but every new wave that comes out takes us further and further from getting them...Foot Mystics anyone?

Did you read what She said she? She said Fast Forward isn't on the list untill 2008 if at all now. It's sort of strange for them to be making plans for seasons and not having any toys to go along with it.
The sales they've been having on fast forward figures in all the stores has proven to go over very well in my opinion I was trying to find a Dark Mike today and I can't find anything besides the deluxe figures anywhere.

I agree with you 100% They more than likely never will.
I still want a Dr. Quease figure from the next mutation I'd pay allot even for a proto *sigh*
But yeah this does worry me Peter can't bring himself to finish comics, the show doesn't know what it is anymore, & the toy line well it's pretty much the movie figures...which in my opinion people will stop caring about pretty fast.

This is true but I have always hated being shown toys that we will never be able to have...it's happend soooooo many times with TMNT it's not funny.

I know As much as people hate her and Biggles I really liked the sculpts on those 2 figures and wanted them allot.
I don't know about figures from the 2k3 show or lost season but I wouldn'y count them out because with the way she's talking about Fast Forward it seems perhaps they may go back to the old line.
Also She & I are talking about The Purple Dragon figure finally being released not the dragon tmnt. ;)

I agree some one new really needs to take charge of this line. Playmates has lost it's touch and doesn't know what the heck it's doing.

I'd enjoy that also.
I'd also like to see Purple Dragons Vs. Thug TMNT 2 packs.
I mean really it was that easy for me to come up with a great idea why can't playmates.
They don't think it would sell would be my guess but I'd tell them either wanna bet or try it you'd be surprised.

The problem with the toys is a few things, I think.

1 - The Vehicles are nothing to write home about.

2 - Toys are getting beaten by more interactive products like Videogames. I think there was an article about this recently...too bad I can't remember where I saw it.

3 - Hasbro is only targeting the 5 year olds. Why not do something aimed at the adult audience? DECENT sculpts, or busts of classic characters..etc could be done

I've talked to Paula several times...she often doesn't know what she's talking about. Chances are that the figures will start to ship after the movie hype has died down, and the movie figures start going on clearance.

This is true she told me before that the Purple Dragon figure was out but I knew for a fact from my weekly extensive searches that it wasn't.
But for some reason on this count I believe her about fast forward.
The movie line is planed to run for quite some time.
I wouldn't mind so much but allot of the sizes on the movie figures are really screwed up.

***First of Two Latin Kings*** 04-04-2007 02:35 PM

How long could it run? Another six months maybe? That's not long. I'm betting we get our Fast Forward figures.

I got an email back from Playmates Paula about the rest of the releases from the movie figures like the monsters and the Splinter 2 pack, other Turtles, etc as well as if there will be any future releases beyond that and all I got back was:

Quote:

I asked Marketing and they stated maybe fall of 2007.
Surprised its that long and the "maybe" part? She still never got back to me regarding some distribution questions and that was asked days before this.

Hero 04-04-2007 07:14 PM

This could be the same person at Playmates who told me that the Fast Forward product was'nt going to surface in the UK until Autumn 2007 and yet the cartoon has only just started a daily run last week on channel CITV.

It will not be long before the toys are out here and they could already be.

OOh! An Angel figure would be awesome!! *adds that to her list of figs she wants*

I also need a 2K3 April figure. Hmm... I have a movie April figure but it just isn't the same (especially since I have a 2K3 Casey as well as a Movie Casey....not to mention my 2 Karai's).

Don't ask them more than one question because they usually only reply to one.
If you want more answered ask her again in a differnt e-mail.

Yeah 2k3 april is my all time favorite april figure she's the one I have on my shelf untill the next good one comes out.

Head Spinnin' Bebop 04-05-2007 03:23 AM

I don't expect them to respond, because they probably didn't have a good reason or can't get into it. That email was sent over a week ago and nothing. The other email I sent yesterday, she responded to me within 10 minutes.

Eh, try again eventually, if she ignores it then its obviously because she doesn’t have much to say or can't address it.

Drtooth 04-07-2007 03:07 PM

Personally, I'm still looking for FF Donatello... I could care3 less if they never get made, even though there are several I want.

Woulnd't mind them repackaging some of the older toys, though....

Picked those up yesterday at work, only other things left was an extra Leo the Ser robo, Cody? and both dark Mike and Leo. Had gotten in a shipment in Thursday night, so all the things were out for Friday morning.

VaughnMichael 05-11-2007 01:39 AM

I know more than likely no one else will care but with the news (or rumor) of Fast Forward being cancled I'm very sad and it looks like Paula was right.
I talked to Dan over @ ninjaturtles.com yesterday and he hasn't been shown any new figures in some time.
I'm very sad and scared as of the state of the tmnt at the moment.
I'm not sure I'll like where it's hedding....:ohwell:

You know, those look very similar to the "Jim Lee's TMNT" action figures that came out ten years ago.

VaughnMichael 05-11-2007 03:15 PM

pftt no they dont lmao...why just because they have futuristic armor on?

Spitfire 05-11-2007 05:54 PM

Not even close I just read Bodycount and on the back is an ad for those figures. They look way different. The Hulk looks more similar to Lee's TMNT.

well it's not all bad news just keep your eyes open for stuff he couldn't say much as he doesnt know much but look at what murphy is saying in the new toon section I think something Dan told me may be very true soon about the line not only having figures for one series but instead everything tmnt.
Which to me would be the correct direction to go in.
Thats whats been wrong with the line to begin with and why the 80's line was so awsome it didn't have restrictions like 2k3 did.

Sort of like Dragon Ball Z Trilogy or Transformers Generations? That would be Godlike. Maybe they'd even get the rights to make new figures based on classic characters!

well he said that and that mirage based figures have been tossed around kind of allot so we will just have to wait and see but like spitfire said to me earlier it'll happen when rainbow shoot out of his butt lol..

zkarlette 05-12-2007 01:42 AM

I really liked the FF line compared to the model of the regular tmnt , sadly my FF Mike got attacked by my dog hopefully I'll be able to find a replacement at this point

If you want I can nab you one my Walmart stocks their selves once every decade so we still got FF hanging around same with Toysrus.

I'm not trying to rag on FF or anything, but since that line is being outsold by the movie line, wouldn't it be a smart move on Playmate's behalf to end the FF line and focus more attention to the movie line? You know, expand beyond it and include more characters that weren't in the movie like Leatherhead and Savanti. Theres alot they could do with the line, and they're the best looking TMNT figures we've had....ever. I'd hate to see that go dormant till a sequel shows up.

Whitewolf89 05-12-2007 12:50 PM

ANOTHER good place to find TMNT figures (FF, otherwise) that I'VE found, IF you live in the U.S., and you have one in your area (don't know IF their nationwide, or not) is the Dollar General stores (just look for the yellow and black sign). I picked up an FF Leo for $5.00 at one of our local ones (Mountain View, MO) on the 5th, and I noticed that thewy ALSO had FF Mikey, Splinter, Serling, Cody (I THINK; can't really remember), Dark Mikey and Dark Leo, and a couple of others. They were ALL $5.00 each! A steal! IMHO.

They ALSO had tiny figs of the movie Turtles for $1.00 each, which due to me being a bit short on cash, I had to pass up at the time.  :dead: But I WILL be going back at least next month, WITH more cash, and nailing these babies!

So check you local Dollar General IF you have one IN your area. You never know WHAT you might find!;)

NoPressApril 05-12-2007 08:24 PM

Thanks for the info Whitewolf! I've been looking for one of those mini movie Splinters for a while now. I hate the size of the movie figs but the design of Splinter is just sharp so the movie mini is for me!
