TMNT cartoon discrepencies

Hi all,
I'm sitting here watching a few episodes of TMNT, namely the episodes in the teens (13-19), such as Return of the Technodrome, Cat Woman from Channel 6, etc.

Anyways, I've noticed tons of mistakes, such as wrong mask colors, wrong voices, missing wrist bands, etc. Are these editing mistakes, poor quality, carelessness, or something else? Just wondering if you all know what I'm talking about.

That Matt Guy 01-26-2003 05:34 PM

I imagine most of them were just overlooked mistakes. The animators were probably rushing through and trying to get the cartoons finished, and just got careless with the colors.

Karpo_007 01-26-2003 05:36 PM

Yeah the show is a classic for those errors.

Jephael 01-26-2003 05:56 PM

Did you know they also reuse the same animation in some scenes? If you watch the episode "Rhino-Man", it's really easy to notice when they do that.

Karpo_007 01-26-2003 06:01 PM

No I didn't ever notice that...

That Matt Guy 01-26-2003 06:04 PM

Did you ever notice that in a lot of scenes, the Turtles aren't carrying any weapons, but the weapons magically appear in their hands seconds later?

Karpo_007 01-26-2003 06:08 PM

That is nothing unusual in that cartoon...

Yeah. But it always bugged me, even when I was a kid.

Jephael 01-26-2003 06:13 PM

yeah, it was almost as if their shells somehow concealed em.

Karpo_007 01-26-2003 06:13 PM

Well they belts had infite storage capacity too.

Maybe they really did have "storage shells" like the figures.

darthsmozers 01-26-2003 06:18 PM

And there were those stoage shell figures :D

Some scenes the turles look about a foot shorter than april, with huge heads, and sometimes they look the size of full-grown men. Heh.

oh, I just watched one where Krang is an ugly ugly dark pink, yuck!

Edit: Matthew, you beat me to it!!

:D

Krang was always changing sizes and colors.

Normally Krang was abruptly the size of a football, but in his first appearance, he was friggin' huge!

darthsmozers 01-26-2003 06:42 PM

Haha I just watched the beginning of "The Ol Switcharoo", and as Don's pizza machine is about to explode, the guys hide under the table, leaving Splinter by himself! The thing explodes, then Splinter enters from another room hahah!!

It seems like in Casey Jones Outlaw Hero, Krang changed size like 5 times.

raphael90 01-26-2003 07:08 PM

mistakes

Krang was cool on his first appearance.

SHREDDER: "That's quite a brain you've got there Krang!"

KRANG "Of course it is! It's all I've got! *burp*"

As for the mistakes that really bugged me, I don't like it when they put the wrong voice to the wrong Turtle. Like on "Killer Pizzas", Leo pushed Shredder out of the way of the monster. Shredder yells at him but when Leo speaks, he's wearing red bands instead of blue. :P

i always liked how, lets say, donatello broke his staff on something, then a minute later its back to its good ole self! hehe

Deathknight 01-26-2003 07:49 PM

One of my favorite errors is in the later seasons they'd show Mikey twirling his chucks and then they'd show him again but this time he'd be using his grapling hook.

o.O Man, those over-reacting parents move fast!

darthsmozers 01-26-2003 08:14 PM

parents? i heard they had mike's weapon changed..anyone care to fill me in? lol

Karpo_007 01-26-2003 08:33 PM

Well it got cencored, Nunhcukus were too violent so they changed it to grapling hook...

darthsmozers 01-26-2003 09:00 PM

so nunchuks were deemed more violent than swords and sais? LOL

That Matt Guy 01-26-2003 09:18 PM

I think a grapling hook is worse than nunchuks. You could bash someones skull in with a grapling hook.

You could do the same with a nunchuck.

That Matt Guy 01-26-2003 10:01 PM

A grapling hook is made of metal, and I guess a nunchuk is made of wood. Which would hurt worse if you took a blow to the head?

Kali 01-26-2003 10:06 PM

There are metal nunchuks. It would also depend on how fast they were moving, and whether you got hit by one of the hooks of the grappling hook.

If you got hit the head with a solid metal grapling hook you would either die or be put into a coma and eventually die. It wouldn't matter about the hooks. I guess the same thing would apply to metal nunchuks if they were wielded with a great amount of force.

Kali 01-26-2003 10:15 PM

Not necessarily. People have survived worse than that. Easily.

darthsmozers 01-26-2003 10:17 PM

Hmm, just seems odd blades and drills and rockets and lasers weren't banned, but simple nunchuks were? How desperate...

That Matt Guy 01-26-2003 10:18 PM

Maybe you should look at what a real grappling hook looks like: http://www.museumofworldwarii.com/im...0equip_lge.jpg

More than likely if someone smashed that into your head, you would die.

raphael90 01-26-2003 10:36 PM

nunchucks

Nunchucks violent? Give me a break! :x

Don't these people have anything better to do than complain about this stuff? Man...

Deathknight 01-26-2003 11:12 PM

They were considered too violent in the UK I know that... but I really hate parents who whine about everything. I mean, can't they just get a life.

Karpo_007 01-27-2003 02:39 AM

Well thst show was changed in states, So someone did think they weren't suitable for kids cartoon. Well I don't think we have to worry about anything like that happening again.

Well, yeah, if that hit you in the head! But ninja grappling and climbing hooks are much smaller, lighter, and often collapsible.

With the nunchuk issue. When you think about it, nunchuks are probably the most dangerous weapon because they are so unpredictable and hard to control. Beginners learning the weapon get a lot of bruises before even beginning to master it. So kids trying to copy the moves, even with a pair or socks, could easily hit themselves in the eye or break something. I'm not saying the other weapons aren't dangerous, all weapons are dangerous.

Hey I remember people in middle school warning us kids not to go around carrying nunchucks as opposed to knives.

Why?

Jephael 01-27-2003 03:37 PM

It was in their weopens policy. Kids couldn't even wear chains on their pants.

That Matt Guy 01-27-2003 03:41 PM

My school had that chain thing, but I already thought people who had those looked like idiots.
