Anyone have pictures of the Dark Turtles?

I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of the Dark Turtles opened. Are they worth picking up or are they pretty horrid? I would be guessing that they arent in scale with the rest of the FF line as well.

Neolardo 04-19-2007 01:36 PM

This might help: http://www.tmnttoys.com/06figures/da...es/review.html and you can find them for cheap in a lot of places nowadays.

HalfcourtGame 04-19-2007 03:58 PM

I am not familiar with as to why the turtles turned dark but I gotta say I wish I had more hands so I could give these action figures four thumbs down. :tgrumble:

They're clones of the Turtles.

ummm why exactly would you give them 4 thumbs down?
First of all these 4 turtles aren't even the turtles everyone knows an loves they're clones.
Secondly these 4 figures alone have to be some of the most well sculpted figures Playmates has made in years.
It's actully nice for once to not have 2k3 toys that look like happy meal toys.

I have them all but they remain unopened. I can never decide whether to open my figs or leave them boxed. Half my collection is still in the boxes. Anyway, if you forget the show and just look at the dark turtle figures... they are really good looking toys. Well sculpted and painted (excluding my dark don which has different color appendages than his torso)

And as it has been mentioned, the dark turtles are clones though I think it's strange that clone's look completely different with different skin tones.

One thing that peeves me, if the skin tones are supposed to represent the coveted bandana colors, why is mike's dark clone yellow?:x

soccerstud652 04-19-2007 08:18 PM

I love Chappelle's Show.

I agree...I wish I had more hands so I can give them ...turtles... 4 thumbs down! Cold blooded....

HalfcourtGame 04-19-2007 09:26 PM

I didn't mean to insult the quality of the figures (I see how it came off that way though). Poor word choice, I really just meant the idea of Dark turtles in general (:tthumbsd: :tthumbsd: :tthumbsd: :tthumbsd: ). Doesn't the word "clone" imply that they look the same as the subject? Boo Fast Forward anyway. The comment was supposed to be humorous mostly, you know "haha funny". Thanks for the support Soccerstud.

Revan 04-19-2007 09:44 PM

^ oops. that one went right over my head.

soccerstud652 04-19-2007 09:45 PM

I got the joke buddy. Its not a diss at the actual toys, but the utter akwardness behind them. A yellow Mikey? C'mon...

Would you like some pancakes?

Revan 04-19-2007 09:46 PM

^ Shoot the J... SHOOT IT

Sniper33 04-19-2007 11:12 PM

Thanks for the input guys. Went ahead and bought the figures but not sure if gonna keep them just yet....bought them while they were still in stock (didnt wanna decide to get them and have them be gone).

soccerstud652 04-19-2007 11:26 PM

How much did they cost?

Sniper33 04-20-2007 12:18 AM

about $6.29 each with employee discount.

odupianist 04-20-2007 07:46 AM

any one notice how Don's Dark replica has a tail and none of the other one's do? I think clone is the right word, but just not an exact clone.

Patraw 04-20-2007 10:01 AM

They had these clearanced at my local Wal-Mart, after Christmas for $3 a pop--I was sorely tempted to buy them, but I didn't, and now I wish they did. I always liked the original Playmates TMNT Slash figure, which the Dark Turtles strongly reminded me of.

Ninjinister 04-20-2007 08:17 PM

Those figures still haven't arrived in this area, and I've even got movie figures.

Had the Dark TMNT been done in the 2K3 series you would have worshiped the idea but since it was done in FF your going to cry about it. Good job your just like all the other blind 2K3 fanboys and girls. All you people do is cling to animation style, you know if FF was done in the same style you'd eat it up like a pizza.

Anyways I have the figures. get them their cool, but look for the Don whose re-painted with his middle also dark purple. I've seen it a few times. And his accessories complaint is invaild now cause they all have extra weapons in the packages.

Ra 04-21-2007 03:26 AM

Now, Spit, calm down... *pats you on the back* It's okay...the evil people will be gone eventually...

But let me say, in regards to Fast Forward, I still kind of like the Dark Turtle idea. I just wish that they were given the chance to live up to their name and not come off as...well, bumbling thugs, for lack of a better word. It's a shame, for in the 2k3 series, they probably would have been given a little more development than Fast Forward has given them already. Ah well...that's what fan fiction is for, I guess... *sighs and shuts up to keep the focus on toys*

Oh, and for pictures, here are close ups I found while surfing the 'net. Mike is a little blurry, but the rest are fine.

Mike's pose just makes me shake my head in shame. Why in the world did they position his arm like that without a bendable joint on his elbow? Why?!

beacuse it's playmates?

Ra 04-21-2007 04:03 AM

Probably, probably :P But really, if they just put an extra joint there, the toy would have been much better overall. Just imagine him putting him in a "resting" pose without a weapon in that hand. Man that would look awkward...

We have elitist Turtle fans now? Neat  . The "animation style" means nothing to me because artists are always going to draw them differently. Save the judgement please because you don't know me in fact I don't own one piece of 2k3, nor have I seen more than a handful of episodes. I prefer the Turtles I grew up with despite the cornyness and mistakes. So judge me on that at least. Oh and Spitefire: What did the 5 fingers say to the face? [SLAP] :rolling:

No just annoyed ones who see senseless FF bashing, since you just joined I wouldn't expect you to understand. But the manner of your post lead me to believe you were another stereotype. But since your not sorry I was mistaken.

HalfcourtGame 04-21-2007 10:12 PM

I'm glad I don't fit into said stereotype. I'm sorry for gettin' a little chippy there Spitfire.

Actually that would be my bad, I've been in a bad mood lately and I tend to let that shine here.

Buslady 04-27-2007 09:09 AM

odupianist 05-04-2007 07:28 AM

Same in southeastern VA, but even the movie figs are slowly dieing out.
