I agree, that'd be like seeing Lando,Jabba,Boba,ewoks,etc in a New Hope. :o
Who said the Triceratons aren't in the first season? If I remember correctly the Triceraton figure was listed for the 2nd toy series. Not to mention the following plot hints:
*SPOILERS* 1) The Turtles come across a gang of "underground creatures" in the sewer with technology. 2) They meet a "monster" in Northampton. 3) They encounter "aliens". 4) The "Return to New York" storyline will be in this season. In the Mirage "Return to New York", a Tricertaon named Zog fought alongside the TMNT. |
I never read the summary, but hopefully you're right!
Where exactly where those listed?
Hmm... If the story with Utroms is going to happen at the end of the season, Zog can't be part of Return to New york...
Who knows Karp? Laird has changed the order of some of the Mirage events for the new show.
But the creatures that the trurtles encounter in the "Notes from the Underground" 3 parter are friendly to the Turtles, the Triceratons are bad guys!
I'd like to add another reason they may not be in season one: to save storylines and characters for further seasons.
Yeah. Well I haven't read the synopses that far yet, So I don't know if t reads there or not..

Heh, I think the assumption that Leatherhead'll be in the show is a good one. Even though he only appeared for one issue as far as I know (Mirage series run, at least), him showing up could amplify that whole sci-fi/unknown aspect of TMNT.

Hey lets not forget that he was a member of the Mighty Mutanimals in TMNT Adventures!
But that leather head is certainly not appearing in the new show.
Yeah, he was even tamer than the Leatherhead in the old toon (of coarse he was a villian in that universe)
I guess the cartoon is the only universe where he was an enemy of the TMNT.
Yes but he started out evil in the Archie comics, and was a neutral character in Mirage.
In Mirage he was friend of the TMNT but not too friendly with Humans. The TMNT even gave him their old Lair.
I kinda always thought of Leathehead as two diffrent characters growing up. Theres Leatherhead as a bad guy in the old toon whos always one my fav secondary bad guys. And Good Leatherhead from Archie Comics who helped the Turtles and was part of the Mighty Mutanimals (The Coolest Mutant Group Ever). I just always thought theres bad Leatherhead and good Leatherhead.
I've never read Mirage so i don't know much about "Neutral" Leatherhead. I Just hope that any version of Leatherhead is in the cartoon. Good, Bad or Neutral. Leatherhead's a cool character. |
Leatherhead was also a prominent cast member in the later issues of the Image comic. He met up with the Turtles after the Dragonlord took Leo's hand off, and introduced them to Dr. X, a Utrom he'd befriended, and hoped to help build a Transmat device with, to get back to the Utrom homeworld.
Personally, I hope *this* the the Leatherhead we see in the cartoon. At first, he'd be an enemy, with no real moral basis. But as the Turtles hang around him more and more, he becomes less upset with their presence, but he still doesn't particularly like them. His own agenda should be his primary focus. When its legal, and noble, the Turtles are willing to help out, but when he does something morally or legally illict, the bros have to step in and fight. |

Hey, has anyone learned anything new about up coming figures yet, or do we still have to wait another 2 weeks until the Toy Fair? -Snailman |
>>Me either, about Leatherhead being in Image that is. But I only have 3 issues (#'s 2,3 & 5), so if Leatherhead appeared in a higher numbered issue I never would have seen it. >>
It was around Issue #16, so yeah, it was closer to the end of the series. >>Hey, has anyone learned anything new about up coming figures yet, or do we still have to wait another 2 weeks until the Toy Fair? >> I think we're gonna have to wait. Unless that isue of Tomart's comes out this week, in which case we might have pics of April and Casey to tide us over. >>He appeared in issue #45 of the normal Mirage Series (at least according to the ninja turtles website). >> Yup, he'd taken in a few members of the Foot, and was using them to build a Transmat device to join the Utroms on their home planet. In many ways, that issue was the precursor to his appearance in the Image series. It built him up as a determined but unable character. He needs others help him do things he's very passionate about doing... While he's reluctant to ask for help, he's more than willing to *force* people to help him. |

I wonder why Playmates didn't make the figure really big? Like at least 8 inches long or something? If it was to get him to fit on the blister card, then they should have just made him deluxe & given him a larger card to accomadate his size. That, or just sell him in a small box or something, anything to have made him retain his large scale size. I'm pretty damn sure his character wasn't sapposed to be a pigmy mutant aligator. Oh well, maybe we'll get a new figure somewhere down the line, wether he appears on the show or not. -Snailman |
