Robyn O'neil
What do we know about April's sister, Robyn O'neil? It has been awhile since I watched the episode she appreared in. All I remember is what she looks like, she came over to visit April, and the turtles do not know her yet. Is there anything else about her? Hopefully she will appear again if the turtles return home in 2008.

Nothing is really known about her, other than the fact she exists. Still, I'm glad she exists, even if it's only to give April some context.
|
I don't remember her ever making an appearance in the cartoon. Which episode was she in?

"Trouble With Augie" (at the beginning and end of the ep.). |
Robyn

Yeah! I noticed that, too! Is she a character from the comics or did she just suddenly get written for that episode, kind of like an afterthought?

And no I'm not kidding that's how it goes in the comics.:| |

So no it doesn't happen in the donatello 1 shot. |
Kind of an interesting way of doing it but kind of cheesy at the same time lol. If the cartoon followed the comics, Robyn should be in the picture and older. Cause Robyn is around first becuase they experiment with drawing a dog first and that doesn't work out, neither does the first few Aprils lol.
April's dad finds the crystal first, then Kirby does, then the crystal is lost in the dimension with Kirby. I wonder if we'll ever see it again. Hah, next we'll find out Oroku Saki or the TMNT were drawings as well :P |

Back on topic - she's a red-head too. A bit more freckles though than April. ;) |
Back off topic... I believe April's origin was issue #22 of Vol. 4, but it might have been #21. Whether you like April's origin or not, you can't deny the issue was one of the most well written issues of recent TMNT comics.

This is one of many reasons I'm not sad Vol. 4 hasn't returned to publication. |

Maybe I'll give that one a miss. |

*Shrug*... whatever.
I didn't mind the story. Thought it an interesting twist, actually. |
I thought it sucked too, especially as April was normal for so long. It seemed like Laird just thought, "What can I do to really screw with one of the character's origins?"
Not to be negative, but next month we'll find out the real origin of Casey Jones. Let's hope HE'S not a pencil drawing. |
I am chalking Robyn not being in the portrait as either a continuity error, that Robyn had not been planned on being on 2k3 yet, or that Robyn was ill or out of town that day. Hey, the other day I saw a family portrait taken at my grandfather's birthday party where I had such a violent allergy attack that I looked like a monster. I do not know why I was forced to pose for it. I did not start out sick that day- it was all the dust in the restaurant.

In the comics Robyn is 4 years older than April and has a son who'd be in his mid 20's by now in Vol 4. He was only seen briefly in City at War when he was like 4 or 5 years old. At the time April was living with Robyn, who was recently divorced.
But yea.. Robyn is the only hrm real child of the O'Neil's. Apperantly there was complications when Robyn was born that prevented them from having another child. But that all changed when Mr. O'Neil baught the magic crystal at an auction. |

Wow. April is a living drawing. That is really screwed up. |
I also missed the issue where April's origin is revealed and ....I'm okay with that.
But, Robyn was, as far as I can remember, introduced in City at War. April leaves NYC to live in California. For a time, she lives with Robyn and Robyn's young son before returning to NY. |
Hmm wasn't Robyn.... hotter-lookin in the comics...?? And I don't remember those freckles....
I have the issue where both were arguing about something before Robyn got the phone call that told them their father died... |
Sweet I get to correct Rose (although I know it wasn't an intentional error).
April's dad used the crystal that Kirby used, not the pencil :P. Anywho, the issue was alright. I haven't read much of Vol. 4 though. I think it was a bit to Kafka-ish for my tastes. Brought back memories of high school english lol |

Huh? Did you say something Putrescent?

Do you think they would put Robyn in the new 2008 cartoon?
|
^ I don't see why should cannot make a cameo at least much like the current series had. I doubt she will get a major recurring role in the show. I don't have much to explain why I don't think she will but she just doesn't seem important to the story.
|
Robyn was much better looking in the comics.
I think the only reason they added her in 2K3 is to round April's backstory a little bit. Man, I hope April's a normal human in 2K3. I will scream if she's a pencil drawing again! |

Laird complained about it so I'm guessing April is going to be legit. It would be nice to see Kirby again, or at least his magic crystal.
|
I never understood why Kirby just couldn't draw a portal back to our dimension lol
|
^ Ditto. Maybe since he saved that world, he's a hero and gets all the ladies so he doesn't want to come back.
|
Or since everything he drew ended up there maybe it wouldn't work. But I can't blame the guy for wanting to stay in the New Genesis/Asgard deal he had going on.
His warp crystal made it back though...maybe he couldn't follow it. If it was the same shard. |
If Aprils' parents were able to have Robyn in a normal reproductive way, why did they have to draw April?
