Murphy confirms the Ninja Tribunal eps will air on 4kidsTV in '08

We basically knew about this already, but nice to know that Murphy just got the news confirmed again after a meeting with 4kids:

http://the-5th-turtle.blogspot.com/

"Just got back from a day of meetings at 4Kids Entertainment and among the many gems learned, decided upon today is that the "lost" Ninja Tribunal episodes WILL finally air on Fox in the US (minus 1 or 2 non-NT continuity episodes)... but not until sometime in 2008."

I don't know what the last line means, but 4kids has already aired "Membership drive" so maybe that plus the incomplete Garbageman episode is what 4kids won't show. Those are technically the only two fillers in that arc, although I don't see why 4kids wouldn't rerun "Membership drive" in its proper order at least.

It's a sad day when "idiocy" appears to be the most reasonable explanation... We have too many days like that. :ohwell:

Spitfire 07-31-2007 10:40 PM

"Father's And Sons" and "Membership Drive" I assume. But "Membership Drive" has stuff from FF in it as where "Father's And Sons" is just terrible and unnecessary.

Anyways this is cool but I've seen it so I hardly care if they air it or not. The only plus to them airing it is if the ratings are high then they might kick back to the darker 2K3 style. And With the half anime style of season 5 I can see that happening. They will nab the little kids and all the middle schoolers who think anime is awesome.

Masked Ninja 07-31-2007 10:46 PM

Oh good... I've chosen to wait for either the DVD or TV... so I actually can look forward to this (even though I've already been spoiled on the end of the season to some extent :ohwell: )

odupianist 08-01-2007 07:19 AM

The question is, will the DVD have these "non-continuity" episodes on it? (minus "Nightmares" cause I know about that one)

Splinter's Iroonna 08-01-2007 08:57 AM

There would be no reason to leave those eps off the DVD. Plus-- "Fathers and Sons" was GOOD! *huggles episode*

Drtooth 08-01-2007 09:08 AM

I don't think they wouldn't show those episodes (minus the one they didn't make, of course). The releases says they might not air those, meaning they could air them anyway.

I can't wait, but I would rather get the DVD some time soon sos we can see them all at once, commercial uninterrupted and not on a fuzzy little non-cable TV.

Scandia 08-01-2007 01:11 PM

I hope they put all of them. "Fathers and Sons" is cute. And "Membership Drive" is not bad, even for a filler episode. I am a completist when it comes to this toon. And the Australia DVD does not have "Ninja Tribunal" from season 4. So I will be getting the Region 1 DVD.

That's all a matter of opinion.
I wouldn't go around saying I like it to much though 4kids will get the wrong idea and before we all know it we'll have the show turn into Ninja Babies.

No Episode in this series is considerd a filler episode if you don't believe me ask Peter Laird. But I'd be carefull he's so sick of people calling them filler he might kick punch you in the face.

Scandia 08-01-2007 01:25 PM

Filler episode does not automatically equal bad. It can be relevant to the season- it was just not part of the main plot.

Actully everything in the 2k3-FF series is relevant to everything.
Even the smallest cog is important to the huge machine.

gobo 08-01-2007 02:38 PM

'Filler' is a matter of personal opinion meaning 'unnecessary'. Like, the Garbageman episodes... How are they necessary? If "Nightmares Recycled" had ever been completed, that would give the previous Garbageman episodes more significance.

odupianist 08-01-2007 02:45 PM

"Filler" is subjective. You could say "Turtles against HATE" was a filler. Some might consider "Ultimate Ninja" filler. For me, a filler episode doesn't cover the main arc for that season. Granted, everything in 2k3 is tied together somehow, I agree. As for athe overall arc of that season, some could be filler.

gobo 08-01-2007 03:14 PM

"Subjective" "is a matter of personal opinion", right? O_o

VaughnMichael 08-01-2007 03:26 PM

Would you really like to take this all up with Peter Laird about his show?
He said he considers nothing in the show to be Filler.
I really could care less myself it's just a cartoon for pete's sake. shesh

Nosir, officer Putrescent. I wasn't aware this was your jurisdiction.

Yes, but we disagree. So, why are you trying to silence us, might I ask? O_o This is a civil conversation we're having here.

Because as we all know what Laird says is Law because any time I dissagree with him I get it shoved down my throat.:D
Just love it when it's ok for everyone but me to dissagree about something life's grand like that.
I hope you all can sense my sarcasm.8)

Masked Ninja 08-01-2007 04:35 PM

Yeah, I view "filler" as any episode that doesn't go with the current arc. But it doesn't necessarily mean that the episode is by default stupid or pointless.

The fact that TMNT2k3 "fillers" still firmly place themselves in continuity (such as, Lone Raph and Cub - which was a standalone story but definitely happened while Splinter was missing) make them a whole lot more watchable than fillers for some other shows. And it's something the show really has going for it. :tpizza:

jerome 08-01-2007 04:55 PM

I don't see how "THE GOLDEN PUCK" could be anything but filler.....that episode has to be the worst:roll:

gobo 08-01-2007 05:36 PM

I blocked that one from my memory, but you're totally right. That ep was both "filler" and "bad".

Buslady 08-01-2007 05:49 PM

I'm with Putrescent on Fillers..the whole series is one long story, these are just adventures that are not connected with the big huge storyline, they're B-stories.
Many times these B-stories give some nice character development. They're as important as the A-story.

Machias Banshee 08-01-2007 05:53 PM

This is excellent news. Fortunately for those whom havent seen the eps online yet, or those who are ready to resign FF to the realms of the OT Red Sky eps (In the ways of excessive repetition into 4am sun. morning oblivion), this will be a fresh breath of air for the series.

As for the idea of fillers, my opinion is that there are no true fillers. Every episode, even the odd ones, all had little clues and coincidences that contribute to the overall storyplot. It just takes a little bit of looking to see them...

I can't wait to see these eps. Admittedly I have seen "fathers and sons", which I loved. But now, I can watch them with my mother (a recent convert to tmnt), and enjoy them together.

Roseangelo 08-01-2007 08:29 PM

Good new, yes. Although I don't get the logic behind NOT airing two brand new episodes that would bring in more viewers than repeats...

No there not.

zkarlette 08-01-2007 08:35 PM

Whatever it is they better air them or sell them but I hope its soon ... belive it or not I haven't watched them yet :|

J Legault 08-01-2007 11:22 PM

Good news for those who haven't seen it can get the chance off of TV.

But I find it to be bull to wait this long for the Ninja Tribunal season.

Now to wait for it to be offical for the Lost season DVD to come out.

nah, the clip show one was terrible. Mainly because they advertised it to be something else. Plus, any episode with Casey jones, IMO is epic.

The only "filler" I didn't like was in FF, and only due to the fact they could have waited to see the success of the first 13 episodes before they wnet on the second 13.

gobo 08-02-2007 03:14 PM

Clip show?? You mean "Reflections", the one immediately following "Secret Origins"? I have to agree that it was disappointing, but I still found "The Golden Puck" to be much lamer. To each their own, right?

Revan 08-02-2007 03:16 PM

^ I never watch reflections. What is the point of the ep? Is it just to show what they have gone through. Nothing really happens to further the series besides a brief training sequence and some idle conversation.

CyberCubed 08-02-2007 03:28 PM

I didn't find the Golden Puck to be that bad an ep, there were worse.

The second Garbageman episode was pretty horrible. I actually liked the first Garbageman ep but the second was atrocious. The Raphael Planet Racer episode was also extremely bad.

Its amazing how the 2k3 series could give us some really great episodes sometimes but its also not free of real stinkers. I realize there's different writers for each episode but the quality does go up and down depending on the ep.

Revan 08-02-2007 03:32 PM

^ and depending on the viewer. I liked Raph's racer ep. It just depends what you like

I think I'm still upset that the advetisement for that episode looked like it was going to be something it wasn't. Mayhaps Goldne puck only works for me cuz I'm a huge Casey fan. but the episodes I didn't like were the first several in the 4th season. They really screwed up by airing similar episodes together.

Or the Golden Puck works besides it's another episodes losely based off an issue of mirage vol. 1.
I really hate when people call things that are cannon in the comics filler and I'm sure quite a few people if not all that work @ Mirage would agree.

Were you defining the term, 'filler-ep'? Cuz you sure did a great job of it. Though, while insignificant, the only thing that episode actually added was Don's revelation of how their origin was spurred by Ch'rell. So, 20 minutes just to hear what I had already figured out on my own... Disappointing is an accurate description.

Just because its in the mirage cannon doesn't mean it makes a good episode. I was looking foward to the episode but it was just bad. Its my opinon. I'm allowed to not like it. Sorry if you or anyone at mirage is upset because i found that episode to be almost unwatchable.

Revan 08-02-2007 05:04 PM

^ Yeah it is def in my bottom 10 eps. And not the first mirage canon ep that has had a horrible 2k3 translation

ZariusTwo 08-02-2007 05:12 PM

You mean ADAPTATION

I didn't say it was good now did I.
I stated that it is cannon hence it being part of the story since it's got other things in it that are conected top the plot of the rest of the series. I'm talking about non of the episodes being filler because they're said not to be by the damn creator of the series.
Which I happen to agree with even if half the episodes are utter rubish based on comics or not.
And since when was I talking to you directly last time I check I quoted drteeth.

If all of you want to get technical almost every episode that was made from the comics is horrid compaired to how good the comics are.

While I do remember kinda hating a few episodes as they initially aired, every episode is great upon rewatching it. The main reason for me is that Fast Forward and the release of the OT on DVD has really made me appriciate the high quality and hard work put into the 2k3 series. While some episodes might not feature high octane action or an involving plot, the turtles interactions alone make any other-wise boring episode great (The only episode I can say that I hate is Trouble With Augie.... bleh).

Are you talking about the one where Casey chases the dudes that stole the cow from some market? Lol, I loved that issue.
