DNA Is Thicker Than Water (new ep)

Just checked Yahoo and this episode is airing Saturday morning at 9:30 AND 10am......no idea why it's being shown twice...but hey... for those who haven't seen it it's a new ep (and one of my fave FF eps).

Spitfire 10-06-2007 12:08 AM

Yeah good episode, I don't know about you guys but I think the Dark TMNT are funny.

Splinter's Iroonna 10-06-2007 12:24 AM

Fast Forward was steadily getting better and better-- and the Dark Turtles, though on the surface were rather cliché, I really did rather like them-- for one thing, it gave the voice actors something rather "evil" to do, and secondly, it LENDS itself greatly to so much story plotline!!!

I saw this ep. on YouTube, and honestly, when the Dark-Leo at the END splits the meat up equally, and the Dark-Mike mentions this, I absolutely LOVED the "It's called 'Sharing'-- you should try it sometime!"-- yet he was openly challenging Darius Dunn-- THAT was the TMNT that I came to LOVE due to the 2K3 series!!!!

Buslady 10-06-2007 02:28 AM

This eps probably the best one of the FF series.

gobo 10-06-2007 03:43 AM

Oh... That's this weekend? I checked my local listings a couple days ago, and it said "The Fall of Darius Dunn" and some other rerun. Anyway, I never knew this ep was so widely favored. It's my favorite too! ^_^ It's the closest they got to a perfect ep. I love character growth. :D It'll be a year before we find out if it stuck though (assuming we ever see the Dark Turtles again, that is).

You missed alot of episodes then. Milk Run? Timing Is Everything? Fall Of Darius Dun?

Then again I'm one of the 8 people who are over the age of 12 that likes FF.

Scandia 10-06-2007 06:09 AM

This is one of my favorite FF episodes as well. And not just because it is Leonardo-centric. Sure sure, it deals with the usual Leonardo episode themes- honor, courage, doing the right thing, etc. But it is a fresh new angle. I like how Leo says he did not like a certain story after all. I like how Dark Leo reacted. One of the best for sure. One of the reasons why I like FF- even though I do not like it as much as the first 2k3 seasons.

CyberCubed 10-06-2007 08:13 AM

This is why I wanted the Dark Turtles to somehow go back in time next season with the TMNT.

I think they should further be explored in the past rather than ignoring them entirely.

ToTheNines 10-06-2007 08:38 AM

I loved this episode, great all around. I'm a big Slash fan, so seeing Dark Leo centric episode was nice.

TerranigmaFreak 10-06-2007 10:01 AM

It's a pretty good episode. I missed the first 3 minutes, but I think they didn't say "it's ninja time" at all today.

cowabunga14 10-06-2007 01:14 PM

I thought this episode was great. Like some people said, it was good to see the Dark Turtles again.

VaughnMichael 10-06-2007 03:03 PM

Yeah this is good but like spifire said fall of darius I like allot more as well as head of state.

Avatar Yuffie 10-06-2007 04:54 PM

Weird I just saw that episode last week. So it's just being aired in the US now?

I'm in the Philippines, BTW, and I randomly watch FF, which is aired everyday... Timing Is Everything and Head of State are good episodes, which surprised me, considering fans voiced their dislike with this series.

Jon 10-06-2007 05:16 PM

Yeah, it just aired on TV here.

But, it's also been made available before (through Comcast's Cable Feature "On Demand"; as well as on DVD).

Drtooth 10-07-2007 09:00 AM

I haven't given up on trying to buy the FF V2 DVD.... I just decided to watch this episode since there is nothing else good on. And I really have to say... if the writing were this sharp, and had this amount of direction, FF wouldn't have been a wasted concept.

I've been looking forward to this episode since Anime Boston, since I heard about it from the mouth of leonardo Himself. Or rather his voice actor. I was in a discussion with him saying I really wasn't feeling FF, but It was Turtles, so I loved it anyway. Then he told about this episode and I thought... wow... now this is the direction they needed to take. And it took them until the end of the series to get it.

Spitfire 10-07-2007 12:17 PM

And it's only ending because you guys complained about it. So good job.

BubblyShell22 10-10-2007 07:23 AM

This episode was definitely good. I liked it because it dealt with Dark Leo's character depth and showed that he did change. I also like the fact that the dumb battle cry was not said, which I was bracing myself for. Overall, this ep gets a 5/5 from me.

Spitfire 10-10-2007 07:46 PM

You guys really can't handle "It's Ninja Time"? There's way worse battle cries then that. "Let's Turtleize'em" was pretty bad. I did love "Turtle Power" though but they won't ever use that again, thanks Laird.

clockstomper 10-11-2007 12:31 PM

This was a good one, mainly because it was once again Leo centric (both Dark and Light.) It's interesting he could be so forgiving considering he was so mistrustful of Karai. Maybe the events with The Journal and Bishop's reform made him change his outlook?

It's a pity Fast Forward took so long to get good, but I'm glad it's nearly over. Cody's no replacement for Casey and April. It's Playmates fault in the first place for fast-tracking this season and constantly complaining the show isn't all jokes like the other Saturday Morning garbage. They're still pulling that same old trick with the new direction and they should just really get their hooks out of the creator's nostrils and let them make a watchable show.

In the end, the toyline failed, the ratings failed and yet Playmates won't change their faulty ideas (look at the new Alien Hunters line, which is doomed to rot on the shelves.) Fan complaints had nothing to do with FF's faiilure, it drove away casual viewers who thought the franchise sold out and became another generic 'comedy' toon. By the time the improvement came it was deemed a failure and had fallen under the radar and burned off like a cancelled network show.

While fan-outrage did worsen things a bit, you've got the rest completely right. Few people are going to watch a show that almost everyone says is lame.

CyberCubed 10-11-2007 03:56 PM

And yet...since the movie FF's ratings have been mostly the highest on the block. Do you guys even look at the rating reports?

Aside from Dinosaur King which has turned out to be a surprise hit for 4kids, TMNT has been doing better than everything else on their block...with reruns even.

Some stuff stolen from Toonzone:

Ratings for September 22:

FOX (4Kids TV) 1.2/6 Avg. (8a-12n)
Winx Club 0.6/4
Yu-Gi-Oh GX 0.8/4
Chaotic 1.5/6
Mutant Ninja Turtles Fast Forward 1.6/6
Mutant Ninja Turtles Fast Forward 1.6/7
Dinosaur King 1.5/6
Viva Pinata 1.2/5
Sonic X 0.9/4

Ratings for September 29, 2007

Adrenaline Project 0.4
Yu-Gi-Oh GX 0.7
Chaotic 1.2
Mutant Ninja Turtles Fast Forward 1.3
Mutant Ninja Turtles Fast Forward 1.5
Dinosaur King 1.6
Viva Pinata 1.1
Sonic X 1.1

Why is TMNT: FF still one of the highest rated shows on 4kids block then? I don't think these are much lower than what Season 4 was getting last year.

VaughnMichael 10-11-2007 04:33 PM

because it's not as bad as everyone on here made it out to be, I swear to god that half the people lied about what they thought of things simply because they thought if they did that without even seeing the episodes yet that they with their complaints would be the saving grace of the series.
Yeah look how well all that nagging and complaining worked out..Fast Forward is now cancled, and look at the ideas being tossed around that are tuns worse than this stuff at least Fast forward still used things from 2k3.
Fast Forward was not the coolest or best thing ever but it most def. was not the worst thing ever or as bad as everyone makes it out to be and I really think they should have said screw it and did the next season while they pull their heads out of their @sses and figure out what they're going to do with the turtles.

Scandia 10-11-2007 04:42 PM

FF still is one of their two top rated shows.

Long live TMNT!!!

Wow you two are both...you know what I'm not even going to insult you but what I will do it make you look like idiots.

For one the FF toys sold like crazy, the series had higher ratings then 2K3 when it was at the peak*By peak I mean best season, 4*, what you all liked. Deny it all you want kids loved this show. The only reason it's being canned is because people who work for Mirage, and I bet Laird himself read this message board and see you cry babies complaining about it.

Well enjoy Baby Turtles Diaper Hour and World Of TMNT Craft because that's what we're getting now because you all exaggerated how bad the faults of this show were and constantly flamed anyone who liked the series to the point where half the people who did like it were afraid to say anything.

Good going

gobo 10-11-2007 08:11 PM

Do as you wish, ass-hole. I didn't insult your precious Fast Forward, but you just don't seem to care. You think everyone's always picking on you, so the solution is to pick on them first, right? Grow up!

You've complained as much as everyone else. You can choose not to own up to it if you please. That post was directed at clockstomper*Wtf kinda name is that anyways?* But I added you because of that comment you made.

Yeah I'm an asshole, people on here are sorta used to that by now. I don't need to assume anyones picking on me people on here were dicks to me for the longest time and I dealt with it. Now I'm lashing back and whoever gets in my way well tough cookies cause I'm tired of it. Some good people well get a reaming to you can blame the people who pissed me off in the first place.

I used to go here to have fun, now I go here to vent. Kinda sad isn't it? So I need to grow up, hell there's something we can all improve on.

gobo 10-11-2007 08:32 PM

If you think that line was an insult towards Fast Forward, you're out of your mind. What does my signature indicate? Or do you even know how to read between the lines like that?

Why would I read your sig, or care to? So I had you pinned wrong sorry. I said in my post I don't care who gets in my way good person or not. If this place got civil again I think I would be alot nicer.

gobo 10-11-2007 08:52 PM

And, I don't care to let people take advantage of me. Stupid little habit I have. Out of curiosity, what is your idea of civil and where is this forum not meeting your expectations?

Spitfire 10-11-2007 09:00 PM

Honestly this place has become a rabid cesspool of constant whining and bitching. People seem to hate any idea that isn't 2K3 more and more.

Don't even touch the general discussion area, it should be removed. You can't even nicely say what you like in that section without getting ripped to pieces by the savages in there. Even the friends tear into each other there. That's mostly why I'm an ass here. I used to contain it within general but lately I've just been going off wherever I see fit.

Not the best choice, I should go back to listening to angry music when I'm upset instead. Which I'm doing right now, guess it really does pacify me. Honestly in real life I'm a very chill guy who never loses his cool. Here I can fly off the handle and it's just online so there's no hurt feelings. I guess that's why I'm okay with being a dick here.

Jo Dawn 10-11-2007 09:18 PM

First off, let's all cool our jets a bit, hmm?

Well, the problem is that obviously there ARE hurt feelings, or people wouldn't be defensive. They're not just always reacting that way because they're overreacting. Maybe they're hurt. So let's try calming it down and not ADDING to it.

Well, I dunno about that. I rarely let anyone's opinion stop me from watching something. And, really... Um... I dunno. I've ever brought up TMNT to anyone, really... as not many people I know watch it. I do work with the kids, and they HATE FF. And the toys never ever sold here. They finally clearance them, and when they STILL didnt sell... I dunno what they did with them, haha. Threw them away? But that's old news.

Anyhow, let's discuss without being demeaning, shall we? Thanks.

VaughnMichael 10-11-2007 09:22 PM

Yeah people in the general public seem to hate the new turtles all together not just Fast Foward though so I'm thinking you're comments are a bit biased.
Nice to see you well enough to be modding again though. ;)

Oh, give me a break. If the series was doing great and making all kinds of money, they wouldn't cancel it just because a few people on a message board complained about it. That makes no sense whatsoever from a business standpoint, not to mention that it's just plain paranoid and ridiculous.

So you think people who never said anything rude to you deserve to be attacked just for posting on the same message board as the few people who did? How is that fair? And how is that helping make things better?

You won't be nicer until the forums get more civil, but the forums can't get more civil because you won't be nicer (see below). Catch-22.

I've seen alot more whining and negativity from you in the last week or so than from the rest of the people on the forums combined. This is the second time I've had to call you out for your bad attitude in just a few days. Learn to control yourself, please.

Since this happens so often according to you, I'm sure you can easily provide me 3 examples from each subforum of General Discussion of people being "ripped to pieces" after simply stating their opinions within the last week. Let's hear them.

Guys, guys! Two words that'll solve all of our problems... time share!

(Krang, I love how all of a sudden you pop out of nowhere to end whatever fighting has occurred, yet I barely see you post about anything in the threads, you lurker you ;) lol)

Our negative opinions had Volume 4 put on a longer hiatus then planned I'm seriously not surprised.

Actually I was doing just fine on the subject till you brought it back up. Even talked to Gobo in some PMs.

I shouldn't have to just read the video game section, heck sometimes the movie section gets pretty bad to but the game section is the worst. Oh I shouldn't be mentioning that though. Last time someone said alot of arguments happened there they got attacked for it.

I already agreed to be nicer on here, honestly bringing this up now is like throwing stones at a monster who decided to stop attacking people.

Actually Krang It is true there are tuns of battles going on behind our backs with this show that half the board doesn't know a thing about between Peter Laird and the other involved they just can't come to terms with what they want from this show.
And the fans comments affect things more than you know.

And, I told you that I won't stand for injustice. You disrespecting Krang in his own house is childish and quite risky. He's the one with the authority around here, so you should be thanking your lucky stars that he's benevolent enough to let it slide. Perhaps you've gained respect for me, but I've lost respect for you.

How am I disrespecting him? Just because you don't kiss someone's ass doesn't mean you don't respect someone. I respect Krang just fine, I even decided to drop the whole thing but you people seem stuck on bringing it up.

Really it's over, end it. I was being an ass I'll stop.

Not really... Around here they really got into it. Little kids were again buying the backpacks and watching it and pretending to be them. *shrugs* Maybe that was just here, maybe not. All I know is how it was; people brought them up to me working in stores and everything. It was pretty popular here again.
