Tons of new TMNT stuff coming (some for adults!)

From ninjaturtles.com:

* 4Kids Home Video currently plans to release the "Ninja Tribunal" cartoon episodes on DVD in North America sometime in the "first half of 2008"!

Raph's Girl note: But...I've already seen the episodes.....

* Ubisoft will begin production on the next TMNT video game soon! At the moment, the plan is for an all-new adventure that's not based on any other project, but the same models will be used that were featured in their movie game. More details to follow as things shift into high gear.

* Plans for the Turtles' 25th Anniversary celebration (taking place in 2009) are underway. A logo for the event is in development as are other special projects. At the moment it looks pretty certain that there will be a special edition reprint of the original Eastman and Laird volume one #1 comic book. More info on the other projects as things become clearer.

* This holiday season, Hot Topic will unveil boutiques dedicated to the TMNT retro merchandise and apparel. Hot Topic will have some exclusive items that feature artwork of Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady and will be an ideal place to find the retro merch!

Raph's Girl note: Hot Topic...wee...time to go to my yearly visit to the Tacoma mall...

* BioWorld has just signed on as the TMNT licensor for men's and women's head gear, bags, wallets, wristbands, belts and buckles. Look for their debut items this holiday season with new products being released on into the new year!

Raph's Girl note: Must...have...TMNT...purse!! :o

* Edible Arrangements just signed a deal to produce TMNT-themed fresh fruit bouquets! The next time you want to express your love to someone, send 'em a kick-butt (and highly nutritious) Ninja Turtles fruit basket - and everyone wins!

* Good Stuff signed on as the licensee to produce TMNT soft toys for amusement vending and redemption centers. Look for their Turtle items at amusement parks, game arcades and participating retail chains all across the US!

* Kurt Adler will be producing Christmas ornaments that will be available at Wal-Mart this holiday season!

* Kohl's will be hyping the Season One Part 1 DVD set of the current toon this holiday season with front-of-store displays, an ad campaign and more!

Dr. Tooth writes your notes, doesn't he?

None of this is about toys, but all of this is great news.

Without a forum for non-toy collectibles, it's kinda hard to figure out where to post that stuff. It doesn't quite feel like it fits into general discussion. It'd be nice if there were a place for the non-toy stuff.

Krang 10-27-2007 04:31 AM

I'll move this to GTMNTD for now. If there's enough interest in a section for non-toy-related merchandise, I'd be glad to make one.

Dorkfish 10-27-2007 10:01 AM

Sounds like they are finally getting their marketing in order! I'm so excited!!! Now my wardrobe can go from 70% TMNT to 100%! XD! *looks down at old toon t-shirt.....*

And Christmas ornaments!? I'm not missin' out this time like I did with the Leo Hallmark one! WOOHOO!

Colliwog 10-27-2007 01:26 PM

Oooh, all kinds of neat Turtles stuff! *squee* I'm excited!

Buslady 10-27-2007 03:10 PM

Now my hubby can get me a TMNT themed Edible Arrangement. He got me one once for our anniversary and OMG it was sooooooooooooo nummy. Pineapple, strawberries, grapes, all kinds of goodies on it...and pretty to look at.

I want a TMNT wallet, cos my wallet's getting worn out.

FINALLY new ornaments...

stupid Hallmark only made Leo, they shoulda done them all!!!!!!

Ramboraph4life aka Matt 10-27-2007 03:59 PM

I must admit...when I first heard the phrase "Edible Arrangement"....for some reason I thought of edible...well...ladies undergarments. must be my dirty mind.

Imagine them merchandising TMNT into that lol...okay i'll shut up now.

I'd personally like to see a section that included ALL collectibles, including toys. But that's just me.

CudleyCowlick 10-27-2007 05:39 PM

I second that motion!

Drtooth 10-27-2007 05:46 PM

Thirded.

Now here's what I have to say. What is the other "merchandise" that hot Topic will have? Their T's are pricey, though a Krang Shirt would be most excellent. If they have plush or something, I'm going to lose it. Too bad the only HT near me is closed for renevations. If they have a Bebop or Rocksteady plush (low probability I know, but that would be amazing), I'd buy those up in a heart beat.

Will the Orniments be available somewhere else? Wal Marts are pretty much far from where I live, all the way out on the highway, and I never get to go to one. I doubt Target would, since they got all their stuff out already. WalMart also has Fozzie, Kermit, and Piggy ones too.

First half of 2008? I hope its before they air them. I'd love to watch them all in order, which is what I tried to do with the second half of FF. I had to miss the episodes to have any interrest of buying them.

Well... The thread title including "(some for adults)" did make me wonder if Rob was disappointed when he read the post. ^_^

The other merchandise will be the Neca figures I believe.

Oh and I like the idea of a section that includes all collectables.

Magneto 10-28-2007 04:46 AM

Guess I'll be checking out Hot Topic more so than normal pretty soon. :)

Good idea, I think that would work out best. I can rename the Toy section to something more general and move some threads from here (such as this one, the Halloween costume one, and the random merchandise one) into there. Does "Toy/Collectible Discussion" sound like a good name to everyone?

OA 10-28-2007 08:57 AM

I think that's a great idea Krang and I like the name change as well...go for it!

Colliwog 10-28-2007 09:32 AM

Sounds great Krang, I agree! :tthumbsu:

JetsAndHeels 10-28-2007 12:08 PM

Awesome, now I can go back to hot topic and buy some merch from Marilyn Manson.

ZariusTwo 10-28-2007 03:48 PM

...What does that have to do with TMNT? Or common sense?

*shudders* The thread tiltle scared me...and now I must try and never think about edible TMNT panties EVER again. *shudders* TMNT and sex are two things that should NEVER be mixed together in my mind

So anyway, Concur on the new section title....interesting goodies seem to be coming out....VERY interested in the comic reprint possibility since my very first vol. one TMNT comic was read into oblivian :)

Off topic, if only the new movie book looked as great as your Deviant Art sig, they might have sold more. Back too on topic stuff :).

themaxonline 10-28-2007 11:06 PM

I don't believe bobbleheads are confirmed... it's simply been mentioned that it's a possibility because NECA makes them.

BubblyShell22 10-29-2007 07:53 AM

If they do get Christmas ornaments, I might get another Leo one. I don't know if I'll go to Hot Topic, but I might check some stuff out. Oooh, I want a Leo bobblehead for my car. If they do release bobbleheads, I'm getting one.

Hey Tokka, did you find this one a year or two ago?

http://i4.ebayimg.com/06/i/000/c0/5f/6c4d_1.JPG

I never did... the seller is claiming this is a 2007 release, so they must be out there somewhere...

Err... just noticed it's Kurt Adler. I hope that's not the extent of what WalMart is gonna have. :P

Luke795 10-29-2007 09:06 PM

Has anyone heard when Season 6 dvd box set of the classic Turtles cartoons will be released?

gobo 10-29-2007 10:58 PM

Yeah. I believe they said... sometime in the future. But, don't quote me on that. :D
Sorry. I just had to.

Krang 10-30-2007 03:37 AM

Thanks for the feedback about the section change, everyone. The change has been made, and the threads have been moved (sorry about the minor topic derailing, BTW  ).

In case anyone is interested, Toy's R Us has currently put out TMNT Christmas Tree ornaments for 5.99, they are 4 miniature versions of the turtles plus a TMNT logo.

GRRRRRRRR!

I dont have a local Toys R Us anymore. :(

I assume theres a website though I've never gone ... :)

Drtooth 11-01-2007 08:58 AM

You know, I was at Kohls a couple days ago, and they DID have season 1 part 1.... All for 5 bucks more than you would spend at Target. Quite a nifty little surprise...

As for the orniments... are they 2k3 toon related or movie related?

Yeesh...good thing Im going christmas shopping soon. About one of the few times I go to Tacoma (which has the ONLY Toys R Us in the area...heck the only toy store period) is to go Christmas shopping. I hate having to go so far but meh it's TMNT and well worth it. Otherwise I just stick to good ole Lakewood (which at least has a Wal-mart now).
