TMNT Christmas Stuff!

I thought we could use a thread to report sightings of new TMNT Christmas merchandise, since it seems like there will be a small bit of it this year.

Found these at Toys R Us today:

Mike and Don fans will probably want to get to TRU sooner rather than later, as both of them appear to be packed one per box.

And when it's an option, definitely take the time to compare paint jobs! Some of them can reallyreally suck. :dead:

Krueger 11-03-2007 07:08 PM

I hope those are cheap because they look totally bogus. Not that I wouldn't buy them to decorate with, but you see what I mean.

Roseangelo 11-03-2007 07:12 PM

Yeah, I do know what you mean. Although I do LOVE Mikey's pizza Christmas tree. :D

The 5-pack is $5.99 and the others are $3.99/each.

oldmanwinters 11-03-2007 07:58 PM

They should have hired Hallmark to do these. They did a great 2k3 Leonardo a few years back.

There's no "hiring" involved, it depends on what company wants to spend the cash on the licensing fee. Unfortunately, sales of the Leonardo ornament must not have warranted continuing the series for Hallmark. You can get it quite cheap on eBay.

ToTheNines 11-03-2007 08:08 PM

Cool, but are these the Kury Adler ones?

Never saw it, could you get me a picture?

I'd never waste my money on such cheap looking things.:dead:

Blah! I'm a bit dissapointed! The company's other ornaments look much higher quality...if those are the Kurt Adler ones, which I am taking for granted they are. Maybe we will have better luck with the stockings! Sadface!

OA 11-03-2007 08:33 PM

I think Mikey looks pretty cool...followed closely by Don...the others not so much...

Dorkfish 11-03-2007 08:46 PM

The Kurt Adler site has been updated with pictures of all of the turtley merch.

I'm surprised at the 2k3 style Raph and Leo stockings. I'll definitely pick those up for myself and my overseas friends if I find them. They are the most decent lookin' of the bunch (in my personal opinion anyway.) Though the Raph head stocking is pretty hilarious.

...I say that but if I come across any of those ornaments, I'm sure I'll probably buy them. XD

Raph's Girl 11-03-2007 10:50 PM

I totally want a Raphael stocking. It looks totally SW33T! :D

As for those ornaments....I'll get the Don for my step-dad and the Mike for my mom....but the Leo and Raph ones look wrong.... Raph looks like he's holding an invisible baseball bat...*looks closer* Oh... he stole Santa's toy sack.... Leo's legs look broken....like he broke em haulling that obviously heavy gift. รด,0

Excellent idea, but I echo the sentiments of the majority on this find. I'd sooner hang the McDonald's toys on my tree.

I was also wondering what Raph was holding..at first glance its difficult to tell.

These look pretty decent. If I am in the area of a TRU (perhaps today after watching the football game) I may stop in to see if they have any.

Nostalgia82 11-04-2007 10:14 AM

Really sad Hallmark didn't release the other three turtles. Leo is a great ornament even though its not very Festive

Thanks for the heads up. I went to TRU this morning and found the same thing: a full box, one Mike, one Don, and five Raphs and five Leos.

EDIT: Ugh, just be careful when buying the five packs. Mine has no Leo and two Raphs! Now I need to go back to the store to exchange it.

Drtooth 11-05-2007 09:16 AM

I will admit, those orniments aren;t that bad. Kinda cool, actually. I don;t think I'd get the whole set. maybe just Mikey. I love the giant Pizza he's holding (a lil' something for the old school fans I take it). The smaller ones look better though.

I still have my old Mikey Stocking from the first series. I do like these felt ones, though. I love the raph. I guess plush heads would look a little too goofy, huh?

splintered 11-07-2007 11:49 PM

I went to exchange my defective five-piece ornament set (the one with two Raphs and no Leo) at TRU, but not a single set they had contained a Leo. They all either had two Raphs or three Raphs (with Don also missing). I'll keep an eye out at different stores to see if there's one out there that includes all four turtles, but I'm not going to go crazy searching since I got all the individual turtle ornaments. Anyway, make sure you look before you buy. :)

Haven't seen stockings yet.

I've seen a couple eBay listings for wrapping paper (that I *think* is supposed to be for Christmas); has anyone seen this anywhere?

I have seen the wrapping paper at Wal-Mart last week.

OMG Are you for real!? My wish comes true!!! TMNT wrapping paper! I'm buying all they have if it is there..... *way too excited about paper*

And I have all 4 of the big TMNT ornaments now. They really aren't as bad looking when you take them out of the box and put them on a tree. Funny thing was, in a box of nearly 20 ornaments at TRU, there was only 1 of Don, Mikey, and Leo and the rest were Raph! What gives!?
That also meant I didn't get the option to compare paint jobs....so my Leo has no teeth, and his way-too-heavy present is melting in his hands.
I didn't bother with the smaller set. They all looked horrible. There wasn't one package where either there was a muppet-y Mikey or eyes-melting-off-face Leo.

But I did order myself and my buddy the 2005 Hallmark Leo from eBay. All I can say is... Oh my, doesn't he have some impressive glutes under his shell? Oo la la!

Buslady 12-02-2007 10:59 AM

I emailed Hallmark, they said there wasn't a big demand for TMNT. Which sucks, cos that Leo is hot. I was sooooo hoping for an equally as hot Raphers. They could have done a cute Mikey holding Klunk ornament too. And Donnie hugging his computer...:P just kiddin'

my hubby got me the Raph one, and i got the small ones. They're okay, nothing spectacular - I'm just glad SOMEONE did TMNT ornaments this year. I think if they paid attention to the paint on these ornaments, they'd actually look better - they look pretty bleah IMO.

I believe they did have TMNT wrapping paper back in the 80's. I'm pretty sure I've seen the turtles in birthday hats eating pizza on one or two gifts I've given as a child... I do know there was a Ducktales one...

Anyway, I was at the only TRU I know of that's still open in this state, and they didn't have a single Turtle orniment. Just the same Spongebob/Simpsons stuff I've seen everywhere else....

My buddy went to her tiny Wal-Mart in her little farming town a half an hour away and said there was tons of it there. She said the cashier dude looked at her weird when she checked out with only 6 huge tubes of turtle paper. XD

Finally, something to put me in the Christmas spirit.

TheAnimatedSeries 12-04-2007 06:00 AM

Cool how the Turtles stockings and wrapping paper has no elements of Christmas in them at all. Thats progressive.

What better way to celebrate Hannuka than having a jolly Hannuka Stocking hanging by the fireplace?

I wonder, is that giant pizza slice the Mikey ornament holding actually a Tree shaped Pizza? At least that's Christmassy...

gobo 12-06-2007 12:06 AM

The TMNT Menorah ornaments didn't test well. :P
