New Turtle Shirts

The Best of the Batch is now up at www.hottopic.com
This Bebop & Rocksteady shirt is just to cool! I got it tonight at the store.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...rocksteady.jpg
www.80stees.com has a few new shirts.
Not very good but new none the less...I want a dang Krang shirt already.
http://www.80stees.com/images/extraL...MNT016_LG1.jpg
ok this one the logo should be on top and larger...not to mention the slogan is just lame as hell lol
http://www.80stees.com/images/extraL...MNT019_LG1.jpg
This ones not to bad for it being an old school one..but I've grown tired of that faded look.
http://www.80stees.com/images/produc..._Tie_Die-T.jpg
I've never really been one for tie die but hey it's turtles lol
http://www.80stees.com/images/extraL...MNT018_LG1.jpg
Out of all of them I think this is my fave but the shirt with Splinter on it would have made more sense.
http://www.80stees.com/images/extraL...MNT017_LG1.jpg
Ok art like I said this image would be better for the ninja teens one..and seriously lord stop with trying to be trendy and make hip hopish saying on shirts it only looks lame.
www.truffleshuffle.co.uk had this one.
http://www.truffleshuffle.co.uk/stor...MNT020_LG1.jpg
Not bad but sort of more of the same thing we've been seeing.

Leonardo_ 12-06-2007 10:27 AM

Cool. I like it..and want these all^^

But I agree with you...the patterns are a bit lame...

Mr._Mutant_Man 12-06-2007 10:42 AM

Raphael looks like he's flipping the bird with his sai.

As far as 80's shirts go, this one cracks me up every time:

Cool Turtle Shirts :o

Magdolin 12-06-2007 10:44 AM

AWWW! These look really cool! I wish I had a TMNT shirt. I would wear it a lot. I wants 'em all.:)

AquaParade 12-06-2007 11:51 AM

Can't we get any without a lame slogan? And where's My Shredder shirt??:x

Drtooth 12-06-2007 02:14 PM

MMMmm... not loving the Style Guide. I mean, I like how they look vaguely like the comic strip, but they do not look at all right for me. I wish they decided on a more Cartoon specific design. Preferably something like this...

Ugh, I'll wait for the bad guy shirts. Every Goth-tard is going to have these ones. On top of that I don't think their that great. I don't dig the style at all.

Goth isn't really around anymore they've replaced the word with Emo...Emo to me is like Diet Goth.

Jester 12-06-2007 06:08 PM

I agree the Splinter at the fore would have been better used for the "Splinter taught them too be Ninja Teens" shirt. These shirts are kinda lame, and since they are Hot Topic shirts they will be very freakin' tight. My GF bought me this a Raccoon Mario shirt from there, and I can't wear the thing cause it's too tight. Dang Emo style!

heh I happen to like my shirts tight..go on a diet jester :P haha I'm just kidding but anyway yeah I like it that way you want baggy shirts go to a hip hop store where a small is really an xxl:lol:

Roseangelo 12-06-2007 10:55 PM

I don't think the art on these shirts is actually part of Mirage's retro campaign. Based on comments I recall Murphy making at the 5th Turtle, I believe these are in-house designs from licensee Giant.

And I have that Tanooki Mario shirt; fits just fine. 8)

Magneto 12-06-2007 11:08 PM

Those are ok, but a Shredder (Krang too) is LONG OVERDUE.

*sigh*

Jester 12-07-2007 12:49 AM

It's a XL white Raccoon Mario shirt, where he's soaring through the clouds...and I guess I just like my shirts loose.

Hip store? I thought that was what Hot Topic was trying too hard to be. :P

But then again, Emo and Goth girls are pretty hot. Long as their of legal age. I have moral standards, you know.

Yeah, I never buy my T-s at hot Topic. Anyone in the Boston Area, I did see the same shirts at Newburry Comics, a much superior store than HT. They sell Action figures, Japanese toys, DVD's and CD's as well as the other stuff. Plus their stores are roomy. For years I couldn't even go into a HT because I'm slightly claustrophobic (ever since an incident on an elevator, but that's another story for another day).

But I really wish these would pass down to Kohls or Target (where I usually buy my shirts), because they often have sales and sell them for 10 bucks. I'm a pretty thrifty dude, you know.

Dorkfish 12-09-2007 12:37 AM

Nnngh... Must have the pink one...and the Stay in School One. Hell, I'll take em all.... So frikkin' awesomely lame.

And yes, dying for a Shredder and Krang shirt over here.

Raph's Girl 12-09-2007 08:57 AM

Great slogans...NOT!

Who the heck is actually gonna wear a shirt that says "Be Cool! Stay In School!" This shirt is braught to you by mutants who never went to school in the first place....Well...Archie Splinter went to college before becoming a ninja...but still...

"Skate or DIE!!!" Is that a threat?

"Splinter taught them to be ninja teens"... Raph looks like he's about to skewer Leo

"Heroes in A Half Shell"... Raph looks like he's thinking naughty thoughts....

I think I like the plain old logo shirt and the "Strictly For My Ninjas" one. The others are just plain...odd

I for one am eagerly awaiting for a Krang gang shirt!

strawberryfields 12-09-2007 12:10 PM

I thought that the first one was pretty cool, but they dont really look like the first cartoon...

Goth IMO is the lesser of two evils. Mainly because as someone who felt like an outcast I could relate to the goths slightly. I liked wearing black, but I wasn't big on the make up or trench coats or wearing nothing but black, and I was overall a sort of happy person. But still, I got along with the goths because of also being kind of an outcast.

But the emo thing is actually popular it seems.:o

Oh yea, there was like one emo kid in 9th grade, two years later there's almost thirty. And my sister says it's pretty bad in her middle school.

I used to be one myself and my heart will always have a little black spot in it lol
But Emo's are the new goth no doubt they made goth really trendy in the 90's and most of the goth kids I knew hated that fact.
Thanks mostly to hot topic..the entire emo thing is just another music marketing ploy.
Just like hip hop and rap dumb music to dumb down the masses and distract them.

Mr._Mutant_Man 12-09-2007 07:14 PM

Gotta love the irony of not wanting to be a conformist, so the kids decide to shop at Hot Topic to find a new form of conformity.

Now, what would the best way to be a nonconformist? Maybe dress up in a full on Turtle costume, like that lady who is constantly in Starfleet uniform. :)

Well, you could just wear what you like, not based on trends.

I think the closest I ever got to following any sort of trend in high school was when I had a couple flannel shirts that I'd wear over t-shirts in the winter.

When something gets into the mainstream, it always kills it. Look at nerd culture. It used to be about fat guys and Star trek. And now a generation of unattainable hot nerds buying overpriced vynal figures and crap like that totally screw it for us unattractive geeks. Of course, at this point I'd like to point out, I'm an animation geek, and not really into that much Sci Fi.

Emo, to me, is lazy Goth. Just buy a couple lousy t-shirts. No effort of painting your face white, getting a Goku super saiyan style hair cut, and black lipstick (on both men and women).

If you want a good laugh, pick up the latest Mad Magazine (the one with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan painted into the Norman Rockwell thanksgiving painting, puking everywhere). there's a dead on spoof of Hot Topic's catellogue in there. It even has a nice little joke about teenagers buying up 1980's specific shirts, when they don't even know what the hell they're supposed to be.

God. yeah. thanks for killing 1980's culture for me.

And Penguins. I loved penguins before they became mainstream. Now I could care less about the artic chickens.

as I've said before Tokka that bebop and rocksteady shirt is awesome!

VaughnMichael 12-14-2007 11:51 PM

updated with amazing new shirt!

Dorkfish 12-15-2007 12:33 AM

Well, I know where I'm going tomorrow! About dang time for a Bebop and Rocksteady shirt!!!

Buslady 12-15-2007 12:40 AM

I'm sorry but the art really blows. They look like shiney inflated balloons posed in various ways. It's not original OT art! That's their first mistake. It's cool they're trying to give fans classic TMNT but the art just...it isn't great.

Gotta admit it, ToKkA's a good model for the Rocksteady & Bebop shirt ^.^

It's closer than anything else we've got so far...so I'm happy with it.

Roseangelo 12-15-2007 07:18 PM

Got the B&R shirt! Yay!

They also had a women's Darkwing Duck shirt, which I couldn't refuse.

At least I finally had a good reason to use my 15% discount card I've had forever!

Spitfire 12-17-2007 04:48 AM

Aw yeah I want the Bebop and Rocksteady one. I hope they do other Foot Clan ones, possibly Foot Soldiers. I also hope that Krang drawing we saw gets used on a shirt I loved it.

Okay, Bebop and Rocksteady are one thing, but hearing about new Darkwing Duck merchandise almost had me crap my pants. I think my eyes just popped out of my sockets. Too bad it's a woman's shirt.

But the Bebop and Rocksteady shirt seem like the crown jewel of the lot. The others have pointless sayings and (worse) a very odd style guide that looks like the comic strip artwork. If they looked more like the OT, I'd be a little more excited.

Actually, there's a men's shirt, too. :)

It helps not to be store-o-phobic and go into the real world.
