who read web-comics
dose anyone ever read web-comics befor?
|
Read 'em? I make 'em. Well, sprite comics, but they count nonetheless.
|
Yes, of course. There are several that I read every time they're updated, and I'm in the process of making my own.
|
Really? Will it be a TMNT related comic Kali?
Yeah I read a few, I don't know if you could consider Jonas and Mortimer a web comic its a web cartoon I guess. :P |
Heh, some of it will be. There're three seperate series. Two are original, the third is just made up of random stuff about online stuff like chats and RPs. See for yourself.
http://www.geocities.com/cathorpe2001/index.html Heh heh, not much there, but I'm working on it. Azure's in one! |
Heh... I can totally see Kali trying to do that to me. :embarass:
I used to read webcomics. There was this one Megaman comic strip that I really loved. It used sprites from the games. To bad I don't remember the url... |
lol!!
"Instert girlish screaming" My personal favorite web comic is www.nuklearpower.com any old final fantasy 1 fan would love it!! :D |
Hmph. Girlish screaming. Bah. ;)

LOL!! Look out, Nturtle! That might be a kickin' karate mutant mouse! I love Kame's comic strips, too! I saw 'em a while back, and the one with Leo staring at the decoy snowman was too funny! |
:D I liked that one too. I like it when my own comics make me laugh. Did you see the latest one? Just about anyone that comes here would be able to identify with it. :P I know I could.
BTW, Azure, I don't think I've told you, but I love your comics. Especially the LoTR one. |
Hey I haave to read those sometime!!
Karate...kicking... mouse??! :o *ducks into his ventilator and crawls away As quickly as a mutant turtle can!!* |
Thank you, Kame!! I haven't seen your latest one yet. I'll make sure to swing by tonight. Gotta jet in a few minutes. :)
Nturtle!! Wait for me! Don't leave me with the kickin' karate mouse!! *jumps into the ventilator shafts* |
I myself am launching a new player in the Megatokyo/Penny Arcade webcomic bad boy arena very soon. Its called EntropyKid
( http://www.entropykid.com ) and will be the wacky adventures of a late 80's gamer obsessed cyberpunk kid, spunky riot tech girl, and a ninja penguin. for fans of TMNT and sprite rip comics there will be some nods to that(the occational NES background or wacky animal character) It's going to be one of the few all color regularly updated webcomics out there(every monday and friday) so fans of gamer otaku anime manga webcomics, or just astonishingly out there wacky art in general should be amused. There is a teaser graphic on the site, but it shall be launched on 03.03.03. |
Run away!!! Or be devoured by thousands of karate micking mice!!!!!!!!! :o *scuttles off in ventilator to find bazooka*
|

Hey Beaker!! Nice drawing, dude! Very futuristic looking. Hmm... Entropy Kid. Cool title. Entropy has to do with chemistry, right? But then again, so does your SN. ;) |
Wha? Aw.... blasted typos and uncareful typing!!!! Well you see.... a micking mouse is like a 12 ton huge mouse which falls on people from the sky at random
|

Oh, entropy is a scientific theory of things going back in time, or more like things reversing themselves in an unfolding manner(taken from Stephen Hawkings A Brief History Of Time) The premise is this kid in the future whose obsessed with 80's gaming from what he's read ...and is trying to find a way back to the 1980's. Err, well thats part of it...its basically my excuse to make these colorful wacky and absurb 3am stories with plenty of otaku, gamer, and out there references.^_^ |
Oh cool!!! I will anticipate the release, Beaker!! And you have a domain name!!!! :o cooooooollll!!! *drools*

Yeah well I'm still on geocities!! :dead: :P
But I do have this dot.tk thing which is a little better |
I'm on geocities too! Not that I'm gonna be there forever... :sweatdro:
|
Oh the free sites are very good for starting out...I just got so tired jumping from one site to another a few years back trying to get the right one going. Then people complain theres too many popups, and I cant get the right layout for it, arghhh. So Im grateful I was able to get the site professionally designed, and find a very good hositng company..it aint cheap, but I think its worth it. I plan on unleashing a grand scale promotion for the site when it launches...Megatokyo and Penny Arcade look out! heh
|
Yes, but for us with limited funds and knowledge, we have to make due.
I wish you all the luck in the world with your webcomic, beaker, you'll definitely have a regular reader in me. |
@beaker:Sound's interestin'! I'll check it out when it comes!
8-Bit theater will always be my favorite. :D "Someone better call heaven....BECAUSE YOU HAVE A NICE CAN!" - Black Mage "O_O" - White Mage :D I have my own TMNT sprite comic in this very forum, a crappy one I do in my time, a Zelda sprite one in another forum, and another one starring me and some of my buds in another Forum. EDIT:If you guys are interested..I'm going to make new Sprite comic involving totally made up characters and plot, would ya like to read it? (I get the feeling you will only like it if you like anime....) |
 Yeah that was in the intro to the Chocobo mix thing wasn't it?
As soon as my bro gets a job, he says he will immedietely ignore my begging for a domain name :dead: |
Domain names aren't really too expensive if you buy them from the right place:
Powerpipe: $7.99/yr. NameCheap: $8.88/yr. Go Daddy: $8.95/yr. 000Domains: $13.50/yr. |
Wow!! Those are preety good deals!! :o
|
Nice... Though I don't know much about HTML, so having a domain would do nothing for me. :embarass:
|
It would be nice to have more space and such for all those flash movies I've got :D

i LOVE webcomics!!! they make my day. everyday! um.... if yer into 8 bit comics... may i recommend DIRK CRIMSON? http://dirkcrimson.keenspace.com/ the first few are slow but it gets hysterical. and YES there's a HUGE hole where the artist STOPPED but i've talked to him recently and he swears that there'll be more. um ... if you're a soap opera type... Boy Meets Boy. http://boymeetsboy.keenspace.com/ or Queen of Wands http://queenofwands.net um... just GOOD and funny... you can't beat SLUGGY FREELANCE!! http://beta.sluggy.com/ though SOMETHING POSITIVE comes really close. (it's not NC-17...but i'd call it R to be on the safe side... use yer discretion, but it makes me laugh) http://www.somethingpositive.net um... IF AND ONLY IF YOU"RE OVER 17 and not readily offended.... search "Ghastly's Ghastly Comic"..... or "Sexy Losers" both of those are DEFINITELY adult, so i'm not posting the links here. hell, even if i did, if you're under 19 years old, odds are you won't get the jokes. heh. but both are quite funny if it's your thing. |
